Photobooths! Whose been to a wedding in the past year or so and found one of these delightful creations sitting there, often in place of a Wedding photographer? Petapixel has written about a photobooth that only activates when one or more people touch. It's a cute concept, you can read more about it here. But I've come across Photographers who are now running photo-booths in the place of doing Wedding Photography, because it's easier money. What are your thoughts? Is it a quick concept soon to be over with? The latest 'fashion'? Or is it something that might seriously threaten the idea of Wedding Photography as we know it?

Artists That Inspire Me 7 + Some news and thanksWelcome to all reading this journal my regular feature of the work of others. On this occassion before I launch into it, I would like to note a couple of amazing things that have happened for me this month. Firstly here on Deviant Art I recieved my first ever Daily Deviation, which was absolutely amazing and so humbling to recieve. I am so thankful to those that suggested it, and to everyone that has supported me from the beginning and actually made it possible. I extend a huge thank you to everyone who came to view it, and especially to those that favourited it and commented. I also would like to apologise, the numbers that favourited it were for me so overwhelming that I sadly did not have the time to thank each one individually like I prefer too, for that I am truly sorry. Your favourites however were all very much appreciated, but trying to answer 2,000+ was impossible.Artists That Inspire Me 7 + Some news and thanks3 years ago in Personal More Like This

Tutorial.Okay, here it is! My Video Tutorial. It's not too long, around 30 minutes of time lapse with me chatting / trying to give advice / effing rambling! Hopefully I don't sound like too much of an idiot >_> The time lapse is of the painting that I continued to work on (through livestream). It's in HD so the quality is quite nice. The tutorial doesn't go through to the end of the painting. It just covers the way I paint, if you want to watch more of it, the rest of the painting is available to watch on demand through my Livestream channel. I'm not sure how helpful my attempt at a tutorial is, but hopefully it'll answer some of the questions I get!Tutorial.4 years ago in Personal More Like This

Two weeks for Artisan CraftsThe next two weeks at projecteducate will be all about Artisan Crafts. Two weeks for Artisan Crafts1 year ago in Deviant Events More Like This
When we first asked the community for help to write articles for this project we were mind-blown by the positive response, so many answered to our call that we had to book two weeks instead of the regular one week event!
Here is the schedule for the upcoming Artisan Crafts awesomeness that is about to go down. Please note that certain articles may change at the last minute due to some members having to step down.
Also, stay tuned for a really fun contest announcement this afternoon.

The Reality of Nude Photos + Posed vs Not PosedSo yesterday I came across a post on tubmlr called "The reality of nude photos" (you can find it here: http://baretobush.tumblr.com/post/62913266101/the-reality-of-nude-photos-alright-so-this-is-a). I felt compelled to make my own version based on this post, which I named Posed vs Not Posed. The Reality of Nude Photos + Posed vs Not Posed1 year ago in Personal More Like This
I think that it's very important to remind people that models are just like everyone else. We're human and we all have flaws and things that we don't like about our bodies. I'm not perfect by any means - and neither is anyone else.

It doesn't really exactly feel like that long ago when I first started visiting dA and now it's already been a decade.
So kinda for myself (and also anyone possibly interested) here's a journal post recapping my last 10 years~ (Also sort of my journal in photography too, I guess.)
May 17 2002
I signed up on dA when someone in the drawing group I hung out with told me to check out his works here. I was only 14 then. I didn't use dA a lot at the time because it looked like this: http://web.archive.org/web/20030426063919/http://www.deviantart.com/
I was on a 15" 1024x768 display and the ad banner + dA header took up half my screen on every page load. Did not like. >_>
I dropped by dA every now and then, in Sept I suddenly found it a lot more user-friendly, the new version: http://web.archive.org/web/20030922013355/http://www.deviantart.com/
I added dA to my daily visit and I started mak

What are Duck Stamps about? The US Federal Duck Stamp-- why should anyone care? What are Duck Stamps about?1 year ago in Personal More Like This
I am often surprised when I talk to fellow birders and peers that are interested in conservation... I am surprised that not only do they not know what the federal duck stamp program is for. Some haven't even heard of it, or think that it is a postage stamp!
I am also frustrated at the birders I talk to that scorn hunters, and yet themselves would not consider buying this stamp. It is estimated that 10% or less of non-hunters buy this stamp. That's pathetic. I have seen people crying that one should consider donating that $15 to other organizations instead, but if one researches into their organization of choice, one will find that most of them contribute far, far less than $0.98/dollar to the fund of choice ($0.98/dollar goes directly toward buying wetlands with the duck stamp program). Go ahead, plug in a popular charity that protects wetlands! See where your money really goes. http://www.charitynavigator.org/ With many of thes

“Some use Ink, I confide in Silver”
— Lauren E. Simonutti
Quote by Lauren E. Simonutti
“ The misfirings of my beloved/despised mind that conspire to convince me to destroy all have rendered me housebound and led to a solitary life. A creature of past, proof, memory and imaginary friends, I am aware enough to know the things I see and hear are not real, but that does not mean I do not still see and hear them.”

How much skin do you need for an erotic picture?"None", some say. I've read this once in a magazine article about porn. They argued showing genitals isn't erotic at all. "A truly erotic picture doesn't show anything and leaves everything to your imagination", it went on. As a good example they gave the love scene in the car from the movie Titanic. How much skin do you need for an erotic picture?2 years ago in Personal More Like This
For those of you who haven't seen the movie here's how much naked skin you see in this scene:
It's nothing but a hand against a foggy glass, but in the context of the movie it expresses all the passion there is. This is a very beautiful scene, there is no question about it. Here's the question I asked myself: Is everyone who wants to see more than a hand on foggy glass really a pervert? That was exactly what the article was suggesting. But isn't it a little steep? And: can you expect from a movie like Titanic the ultimate answer?
Let's pretend for a moment you can. I don't know if the guys from the magazine article saw the whole movie but there is actually another interesting scene where R
A couple of videos for youSo you heard so much from me when I was in the UK and then I came home an vanished again. My apologies. Overseas, I was talking so little and experiencing so much that I just had to share. I came back home and hit the ground running in a pretty big way. Literally an hour after leaving the airport, I was back in the theatre, getting up posters for our current show. Since then we have had one hugely successful season in Perth (including award nominations) and are almost finished our Adelaide Fringe season.A couple of videos for you2 years ago in Personal More Like This
But at any rate, me writing to you about what we've been up to is very dull so I have two videos to show you. The first is an extract from our most recent play, the one that is working its way around Australia this year. This is a script of mine called 'Insomnia Cat Came To Stay', performed by Joanne Sutton, directed by Danny Delahunty, with incredible animation by Thomas Russell, design by Sarah Walker eckyducky, music by Roderick
