Another Side- Centrau-GuardianI walked down the street today,Another Side- Centrau-Guardian10 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
And saw with my own paired eyes,
Two boys walking hand-in-hand
Silhouetted against the skies.
They seemed not to notice,
All the looks of despise,
They seemed not to want,
To hide behind a disguise.
It made me smile to see them happy,
Though I dared not to show it,
Because the people walking with me,
Were wondering who first to hit.
Of course, that's the way it is,
I knew they should have learnt to hide,
In this world we created today,
There's no room for another side.
But just for that moment,
My worries lifted away,
And I longed to see that pair,
Walk hand-in-hand everyday.
It wasn't to be,
The next day,
One died in hospital,
The other faded away.
After all, they played against the rules,
In a world with no tolerance,
We do what we shouldn't have to,
And silently step to their dance.
