Dragon's Fable Prologue
Welcome Once Again
Welcome once again, friend, to the world of Deus. A world where the legends of dragons and heroes are real. A world of elves, mermen, dwarves, and even humans like yourself. A world very different, yet very similar to your own. A world where stories are more than just the ordinary tale.
I am sure you remember me from the last time we met. I am Coeptus, the Princep of Nemus Village, in the Land of Deus. Now, Im sure youve familiarized yourself with the term Princep from before? A Princep is the leader of a specific region in each land of the world. Here, I am Princep of the elfin region.
My fellow Princeps and I have governed in the land in peace, and prosperity. As Princeps, it is our duty to oversee the daily status of our regions. Wizened with experience, we lead with honor and nobility. And there is also the occasional duty

Oh great, I'm boned.
I break into a run with the wallet, opening it up as I sprint in between pedestrians. I quickly stuff the bills into my pocket without counting them. The man is hot on my tail and mad as a bull. He kind of looks like a bull too: a broad shouldered, balding, red faced man in a tailored suit plowing his way towards me. He's gaining on me.
I throw the wallet at him and he ignores it entirely. He has eyes only for me.
I start really running now, he means business. I sure know how to pick them; not only did he feel me lift his wallet, he was also prepared to murder me for it.
He's almost caught up with me when I duck into an alleyway, using an old couple as cover in hopes that I might lose him. It doesn't work, and now I'm trapped.
"You!" he shouts as rounds the corner, laughing crazily and coughing as he tries to catch his breath. "Thought you'd get away didn't ya? Didn't nobody tell you it's wrong to steal?"
Well, yes. Someone did in fact tell me it was
The Dragon in Me Part1I was just walking around in the city. It was a wonderful day in the middle of the summer. The sun had just risen and was shining in my face. I had decided to take an early walk and was now on the way home. I was crossing the road when it happened. A car hit me from the side. When I was flying the whole time seemed to slow down and I felt something rush through my body. Then I blacked out and crashed against the wall. The driver of the car just went on like nothing had happened. For my luck the next passenger that saw me called the emergency ambulance. They came quickly and brought me to the hospital. When they found out who I was they informed my parents, who came as fast as the could. When they reached the hospital they were led to my room. I had to look terrible. Several bones broken, bleeding just like every where and to make it worse the doctor told them, that I had a concussion. He also told them that I had likely no chance to survive and they were even wondering why I was stillThe Dragon in Me Part15 years ago in Scraps More Like This

Chapter 1- The Stone
Derrek woke early in the morning. He had no reason to, he just could not stay asleep any longer. Getting out of bed, he headed for the bathroom. turning on the sink, he splashed some on his face and combed his nappy brown hair until it was untangled. Rubbing the sleep from his hazel eyes, he walked downstairs. There was no one else in the house. His parents were out and wouldn't be back for hours due to work. No matter, he was old enough to be home alone anyway, being sixteen.
For lack of anything to do, Derrek desided to leave the house for a walk. Their house lived in a small town and not many houses were arround. It was a small town, roughly fourty homes and a number of stores. It even had its own small school, Police station, Fire department, and clenic. There was no need of a park since the entire city was surrounded by a forest and mountains, but the school offered public roam of its Field for soccer, basketball on the side court, and a picnic ar

Caelum Sky, Chapter 1
It began like a listless, fevered dream; my soul stretched apart like a canvas worn thin; the gentle ebb and flow of a sputtering heart rocked me slowly in a world devoid of features. Sinews of consciousness barely touched one another, sparking with flashes of life, of reality around me for just a moment before they drifted apart, back to nonexistence. My reality was devoured by something empty, barren and white. Silence in its purest form.
Drifting, aimlessly, the waves began to collect, faster then before. I strained, mind twitching with thought in my dreams, tension becoming greater and greater. More thoughts, more life! A spark, a jolt of energy, a snap of vibrancy much more brilliant than before hit me hard, snapping my mind back to reality, back to the very real world I had detached from. Everything had been white, brighter and brighter, something lovely, peaceful and new as I opened my eyes.
I awoke in the bowels of Hell. Light faded entirely, a

"Thank you and good night!" I said, sending the last costumer away.
I slumped on my chair and sighed. It had been a hell of a weekend. I worked nearly non-stop for two days and I was dead tired. Cashier life isn't as easy as one might think, particularly at this time of the year: Christmas. Fortunately, I was free to do whatever I wanted for the next two days, and I'd take the most advantage of it.
I snapped out of my thoughts and called my supervisor to end my working day. She arrived rather quickly, to my surprise. Looks like I wasn't the only one looking forward to a comfortable bed. She "bled" out the money on my pay-box, cashier jargon, and I quickly counted fifty Euros, the fund, for the next worker for the following day. We then proceeded to the vault and deposited everything there. Minor pleasantries and goodbyes exchanged, I went to the changing room to trade my uniform, which consisted on a white shirt, black trousers and steel toed shoes, along wi

The Greencastle High School cafeteria was as sparse as a desert. Arron was practically the first there. He took his seat with all his friends minus two, who were the only two included in the school population. Like countless other education facilities around the world, his food placed before him contained the aftertaste of the cardboard and plastic all foods were processed into. Arron couldn't decide if he would prefer to have a liquid concoction with all the necessary nutrients, or the unappetizing cooking in front of him. It wasn’t the food that made him feel somewhat precautious though; it was his friends.
Greencastle High School, a smaller public school consisting of just over two thousand students, was built in what felt like the dead center of a vast early twentieth century red brick forest. The modern asphalt roads and aging white concrete slabs with the electronic yellow street lights were most of the recent editions from a

"Will this do?" asked my friend Gordon as he pulled another rock out of the snow.
"No that won't do." I replied as I search for more rocks in the snow. I was looking for the perfect rock to bring to science class for a geology project. Being me I like doing things over the top so that is why I am searching for the perfect rock and not settling with anything less. "Oh, shiny," I said as I lifted another rock out of the snow. "this one might be a keeper."
"You sure you want that rock? sure its sparkly and all..." Gordon asked as he pulls out a jagged one with small blac

"Thank you God, Summer is finally here at last!!!" Gene shouted out as me and my 6 closests friends were walking out of this dump called "Middle School", and into freedom. We've waited 15 weeks for this time to come, since this year in 8th grade had been a pain in the butt when Dramarama came around and hypnotised every prep to fight and make drama.
Typical if you catch my drift.
"So Miranda, what are you gonna do this weekend?" Andrea asked, folding her arms and staring at me with those shy brown eyes of hers. She's the shy one, sometimes talks whenever there's nothing to say, but she's still a nice gal.
"Not much. Though I think my mom has some plans for the both of us to go to Corpus Christi for the whole weekend. Maybe today I'll be going to the mall to shop for a new swimsuit and sandles."
"Why do you need them? I thought you had some already, or did

"Yeah, I know this sounds cliché," she said, her tone not quite matching the words, "But get out, pack your bags and find somewhere else to live," the tone didn't match its words; instead the phrase came out quickly, in a sigh, while she stood against the doorway with her grey sweater on. She liked that sweater. I hated it, but she liked it, maybe because I hated it. Her friends liked it. They didn't like me. Maybe that's why she's wearing the sweater today.
I looked at her, then looked at the duffel bag near the doorway. "Well," I replied, nodding at the bag, "at least you made it easy for me."
She stifled a laugh, "Yeah, it's not like you have much stuff. Why does a dragon need a hat?"
My turn to chuckle: "Well a dragon has to keep up appearances, doesn't he? I look downright stunning in that hat."
She rolled her eyes in a lighthearted way, "Sure you do." She sighed, "but you still need to get out."
I tried to give her puppy-dog eyes in response, but it didn't se

Right from the first day, being part dragon had never been pleasant. Oh, sure, it might seem like some fantasy geek's dream come true, but take it from me, the whole thing is much closer to a nightmare.
Let's see if I can explain this.
Friday night I was a regular, slightly pudgy guy, and by Saturday, I looked like a giant lizard on steroids. You know what? I hate scales. I hate them. They rub against each other all the time, whenever you move; it's almost like wearing chain mail. Except it's attached to your skin.
Oh, and then there was the actual dragon I'd merged with, who had a nasty habit of arguing with me inside my head.
This is a ridiculous mode of transportation was his current complaint, as I rode my bike down the street. Thankfully, being half dragon comes two-for-one with basic shapeshifting abilities, so I was able to revert mostly back to human form when I wanted. The bad news: I still had two plates of ar
Dragon HatIt was near the end of July. As a reward for finishing his first year of school, six year old Jason and his family went to the San Diego Comic Con. Little Jason was amazed at how big the convention was. He had never seen so many people in one place. The convetion itself was a very easy place to get lost in so Jason had to make sure he was with his family at all times.Dragon Hat6 years ago in Fantasy More Like This
Jason was dressed like a half-dragon. His parents had always told him that many fans of comics like Iron Man and Batman who went there. As much as he loved superheroes, Jason loved dragons more. He had always enjoyed dragon type movies, no matter how cheesy.
Jason's costume was a pair of homemade wings that barely stuck out of his shirt and a tail his mom sowed for him. Jason looked around, excited. Jason noticed many people dressed up as his favorite fictional characters. He noticed a girl dressed up like Naruto. Another was a storm trooper.
"Mommy, why are these people wearing costumes?" Jason asked.
