"Chapter 2: State Alchemist"
That night Edward woke on something he never wanted to hear... the Elric brothers were having a fight again. They did sometimes about small things but this one sounded serious and it was two in the morning as well...
"What do you mean you don't know?!" Shouted the older. "I gave it to you! Can't you take care of a damned book?!"
"Niisan its two o'clock I would like to sleep can't you have the book in the morning?!"
"NO!! I want that book NOW!"
Fullmetal heard some rumble.
"I don't know where it is!"
"Oh damn! See?! That is why you cannot have a pet! You never take care of anything! You would lose your head if it wasn't bound to your neck!"
"What do you want from me? It's 2 o'clock! You just woke me up for your stupid book!"
"It's always me who takes care of everything! You do nothing at all! Your grades are bad! How do you want to go to university like that?!"
"Just because I'm not a bookworm and have a social life doesn't mean my life is ruine

"Chapter 4: Someone you know so much."
The next day around 6 o'clock, Edward knocked to the Elric brothers to come downstairs.
The tall Edward was laying on his bed reading and Alchemy book while Alfonse couldn't choose which jumper to wear... the blue one or the green one. He made a 'help me' face to the shortest blond, who voted for the green. So the 3 headed downstairs into the living room. Hohenheim was preparing a glass of fine whiskey when he saw them.
The tall Edward settled into the armchair watching the ceiling utterly bored, the younger Elric and the Fullmetal headed in the kitchen. Alfonse to help his mother a bit and Edward to check on what the meal will be. His stomach told him special guest needs special meal.
He was checking the meat in the oven when the younger brother crouched down next to him.
"Actually…" he started. "Don' believe Niisan." Edward made a questioning face. "He likes the General very much. I hear them talking on the phone a lot when father i

"Chapter 3: Love for Alchemy"
At lunch, Trisha announced that she has invited Roy Mustang for tomorrow dinner.
"Oh honey! Great idea!"
"Weeeeee!" Cheered Alfonse. Edward could tell the little brother is a big fan of the Colo... Brigadier General.
"Oh... joy." said Edward. "Mind if I just don't move out of my room for the rest of the day?"
"Edward!" Hohenheim ordered him. "You will be staying downstairs until Roy is here and you will act like a true gentlemen!"
"Should I lick the dust of his boots too?"
"Edward!" Trisha looked at her shocked. "How can you..."
"...say such thing? Just because his wife is the headmaster of the University you want me to attend after I finish here?"
"Edward that is the Best University in the country!"
"I don't want to go there!"
"Then what do you want to become when you grow up, my son?"
'I want to be a State Alchemist...' -he wanted to say but he didn't. His chances to become one was getting lower and lower. He always thought he can be one bec

„Chapter 6: Goodbye, Edward."
The next morning a team of low classed alchemists appeared and cleaned up the corpses of the chimeras. Roy Mustang and John Havoc walked to the train station accompanied by the youngest Elric. Trisha made breakfast and Hohenheim put together all the things he and the FullMetal searched about the way how to jump dimension.
The man still missed something from the theory but Edward felt that it is almost ready. After breakfast he retreated into his room and didn't show up at all.
Trisha remembered the shorter Edward mentioning, that he is going outside but he didn't say how long.
"Edward please go get him, the dinner is ready."
So the tall Elric left to find the visitor from the other dimension. He walked a bit and found him a bit far in the middle of a field.
He was down on four, busy drawing something and as Edward got closer he saw that it was a huge transmutation circle.
"Whatever you are doing you should stop and come to eat." he said.

"Chapter 1: A place almost like home."
Edward Elric the Fullmetal Alchemist shifted in bed as he dreamed a nightmare... He dreamed about an armor again. An empty armor with the voice of a child calling him from somewhere very far... and Edward couldn't reach him... he tried as strong as he could, but he didn't have a chance. No chance to reach Alfonse.
He set up sudden in the bed breathing heavily... end of dream.
It took him a moment to actually see the room he was in... to feel the fresh air of Rizembul...
He felt a hand touching his shoulder and he turned to see an oh so familiar face of someone he would hate in a different world.
Hohenheim of Light.
"Are you all right?" - the man asked. He was sitting there in the frenchbed, a book in his lap and something Ed didn't see often; his hair on loose.
Edward didn't say anything at first. He blinked some and then he settled back resting his head on the side of the man. Hohenheim pulled the cover back over the boy and stroked

„Chapter 5: Team of 3."
Edward didn't say a word at all while eating. The family chit-chatted happily above the delicious meals. Fullmetal decided to ask some question from Hohenheim after Mustang left. This had to be put into its place.
Somehow the short blond become stiff. He listened to all the sounds which came in from the dark night outside.
He heard Dan bark loudly but that was all.
It was too much quiet.
Hohenheim asked Mustang if he can help a bit to send the boy back to its own universe but Roy looked at the papers... "Aww no! Science is your territory Light. Let the Flame stay on the battlefields." So he couldn't help at all.
And as midnight came, a car appeared from the dark and stopped in front of the house.
Trisha put a blanket on her younger son who fall asleep on the sofa. The tall Edward was saying goodbye to the Flame Alchemist when they heard a strange sound...
It sounded like a lion. But there are no lions in Rizembul. There's not even a zoo in Rizembul.

„Chapter 6: Edison Bradley."
In the early morning a bunch of alchemists arrived to the house and talked with Colonel Mustang about the three Chimera. These Alchemists were the cleaners who were sent out from central to clean up the corpses. They are not State Alchemist but they are something like that but without a watch and in a lower class. They always work fast and do clean work and repair the destroyed building as well.
After finishing, their leader walked up to the Flame Alchemist and gave him a letter.
"The Führer wishes you back to central immediately, sir." he saluted and left.
Roy opened the envelope as he headed back into the house to wake Havoc. Hohenheim arrived from the kitchen, enjoying his usual cup of coffee.
"Hohenheim!" Mustang called out for him. "The letter says, five chimeras broke trough the wall. They killed two, and they are happy the other three was found and are dead by now."
"Did they repair the wall?" Light asked.
"Yes, but they want both of us

"Chapter 7: Complication."
"Al, go back to sleep."
"You will catch a cold outside." Alfonse reminded his brother, who was sitting on the steps of the house.
"Al, it's July." he commented angrily.
"It's two in the morning..." The little brother said ignoring his brother's previous comment.
"That is why you should go back to sleep!"
"Ask no more! Go SLEEP!" Edward ordered.
But Alfonse wasn't a soldier you can order. He stepped out from the house and silently set down next to his brother to watch the stars.
They set there for a while with their gaze up on the starry dark sky.
"Once, I dreamed I was standing on the moon and I was looking down at the earth." Alfonse said softly.
Edward turned to him. "...how was it?"
Alfonse closed his eyes as he answered with a smile. "Beautiful."
"And did you see Winry waving at you?" Ed grinned.
"Niisan!" a blush appeared on the smaller brother.
"Just joking." he turned back to the sky.
They set there looking at the

"Chapter 19: Changed"
Edward was up early, already outside, taking a closer look at the gigantic door he had alchemized out of pure rock the day before. Fortunately, he didn't have a headache. So the day started brightly.
With his father's book in his lap, he was sitting in the sand again, gazing up at the heavy stone gate, amazed.
The gate was pure masterpiece. There were two amazing figures spanning the vast height of the doors; the figure of a woman with long, wavy hair was delicately made, but the bearded man on the other side emanated strength and wisdom. Ed's mind soon retreated back into the book in his lap, where he checked how to do the refining. A complicated transmutation circle was needed and the sample of fine red water.
The molecule structure of the refined water would automatically change once the array was activated. It just needed some energy to make the process get started, and then the whole thing would work on its own.

"Chapter 20: Never forget you…"
"Edward, how are you feeling? You were passed out for two days. We were afraid we lost you." The doctor sat next to bed the boy was in.
The red haired alchemist blinked at him, confused: "T-two days?"
The doctor got a hold of Ed's thin wrist to check the boy's pulse. "How are you feeling? Any part of you hurt?"
Ed gazed down at the red-water spot he had vomited into his lap a minute ago, slowly seeping through the fibers to dryness.
God, it was hot here.
"What happened?" he asked, not lifting his eyes. "I remember starting the transmutation, but…"
"We're not sure," the man answered him, calm as ever. "What we know is that you two went down, the earth shook slightly, and then those big doors opened wide and there was red water flooding everywhere." He was quiet for a second, then continued thoughtfully, "Your body came up to the surface a minute later, and

The man had red eyes under the sunglasses. And with his darker skin everybody could tell he was an Ishwarite.
Neither Edward nor Alfonse have ever seen an Ishwarite before but everybody knew how they look like.
Edward stepped in front of his mother protectively, facing the man.
"You are from Isbal. What brings you here? So far from your own country?"
The lips of the man curled. "You must be Hohenheims first son, Edward." The boy blinked how does he know that? "You look just like your father I must say." He looked at the younger Elric then. "And that leads you to be Alfonse."
"How... do you know?" Al asked surprised.
"I know Hohenheim of Light very well. He helped my people once and he said I should come here if I'm in need of his help again. So I came."
"Father helped the Iswarites?" Edward spoke. "Father is a state Alchemist!"
"Oh, Edward, it's true." Trisha said. "It was ages after the war... when you boys were ten and eleven."
"But, father said he l

"This is it." Nina pointed at the door. "But the red light is on, so there are people in there." Hearing that, Al was afraid he was too late. "What should we do?" she asked.
Al quickly started to think. If they just broke in they would get into big trouble; not like al wasn't in a big enough trouble already, though. "Can you lend me Alexander?"
The braided girl nodded at him. Al thought a bit more, and finally had an idea: "Is there any place to turn off the lights?"
"Yes. Come; I'll show you."
"That idiot." Crystal sighed. "I knew it." He stood from the table and drank the last bit of his coffee.
"Shall we go?" Armstrong asked. They both knew they would also get punished if they broke into the lab, but they didn't want Flame to die in there.
"Yes, let's go." He threw the plastic cup into the bin in the corner of the room. "If we get caught we will be put into pr

"Chapter 13: Disappointment…"
Alphonse found an old door with a fresh-looking lock. A fresh lock in a dirty and rusty place like the sewers. That sure seemed to be interesting.
He wanted to go in but it was locked. Al thought for a second, then drew a little transmutation circle on the iron surface and, 'click,' the door was opened.
Al was proud.
Until he fall face forward because of some stupid stairs.
"Ouch…" he whimpered, holding his hurting nose.
He took the steps up and pushed another door open.
Al was surprised to see the Red-water reactor right in front of him. It was huge, gigantic. The red water was running in the large pipes, the valves were opening and closing busily, while the turbines gave out a soft buzzing sound.
The whole place smelled worn and dusty. Alfonse hurried along to the next door, on the other side of the large room. The reactor was usually kept checked and he didn't want to be found.
The biggest surprise only came when he closed the do

Of course, if it hadn't rained, the whole business would probably never have happened. Alice would have wandered right back up the garden path and gone into the house and never looked into the little tool-shed at all, and that would have been that.
But it did rain. The signs were there some time before the axe actually fell, in the gradual darkening of the summer sky, the whistle of wind picking up in the trees and even the distant rumble of impatient thunder. Alice might have known better, but then she had always been the sort to make excuses, rationalizing and justifying, and just now she had decided that it couldn't possibly start to rain very hard within the next quarter-hour or so, and anyway, she wanted to look at the roses. They were in full bloom and very lovely, even to Alice who had never been especially fond of flowers. One might say, then, that it was partly the fault of the roses, or even
