Again I will not sugar-coat anything I'm about to say regarding to our graduate economic crisis.
I graduated with a BA in the Arts last April, and have been working full time since last June to the present day, while doing a lot of freelance gigs on the side, but there are a lot of things that plague my fellow graduate friends, and this could apply to people who graduated with higher education regardless of territory. The following are my opinions:
1: Our government and economy constantly acts like the corporations' lap bitch, and we all jump in on the globalization neo-liberalism business strategy to leak jobs and money out of our country.
2: A lot young people are not taught to develop a passion/hobby at a young age. Ontario has some of the highest high school dropout rates in North America, how is that even possible? You'd have to try extra hard to

Without the extra day every 4 years, we would be in 2013.

Tips for Life StudiesTips for Life Studies2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
I really enjoy making life studies, it's one of those things that allow you to really observe and understand what you're seeing. I've done way more than you'll find on my gallery, since I'm lazy to scan my sketchbooks, but one of my favorite activities is going out from time to time, sketchbook at hand, and drawing people, buildings, trees, etc.
You learn so much from it, from how different materials work, to how lighting affects the image. And it's more what you can learn from this experience compared to studying photos (which is an absolutely a valid tool, too, that I use as well), but with photography you miss many elements inherent to life study.
So here there are few tips that I learned and have helped me a great deal.
Choose your lighting adequately: more often than not, I choose artificial lighting over sunlight. The reason is simple; you might spend many hours there, meaning the lighting will change.
It's always better if you hav
The Greenscreen BudgetSo it's been pretty obvious that the VFX company that did the effects for the Life Of Pi underwent huge financial disaster and a large layoff among its very talented staff. It brought the world's attention to a much needed part of our movie industry, and that part is where all the fictional aspects of movies became a reality, so to speak. The Greenscreen Budget2 years ago in Personal More Like This
However, this is NOT something that only happened yesterday or this week. VFX studios declare bankruptcy ALL the time due to various yet clearly avoidable reasons such as an over staffing of management and under staffing of artists and technicians. Studios constantly underbidding each other simply because the budget just can't afford over 40 mins of quality CGI but needs over 70 mins of it.
Now from a smaller picture, we can clearly see that there is an unequal distribution of budget and funds, and due to poor management of pipelines and a lack of constant client work can put the entire studio out of a job in today's already disastrous economy. But wh

Time is a valuable thing

Watch it count down to the end of the day

Or wasted it all just to watch you go
I kept everything inside
And even though I tried, it all fell apart
What it meant to me will eventually be
A memory of a time when
I tried so hard and got so far
But in the end it doesn't even matter
I had to fall to lose it all

You walked down the plain white hallway, a large lab coat covered your small frame. You looked around, blood and body parts layed around. Your one hand was a fist, but layed upon your chest, your other held closed the large coat. The only sound that was heard was your breathing and the moaning sounds of the mindless creatures. You were scared, only moments ago you woke up in a large metal pod filled with green liquid. And now you were here, walking down the bloody halls, passing rooms that were filled with experiments and scientist dying from they're own little projects.

I've kinda disappeared for a bit, and wanted to write a little journal why I've left Facebook, Twitter and kind of my online persona. If you care to read, down below you will find my reasons. I hope you're well, and will try to post more art soon. Feel free to discuss below your opinions on the matter, and I'll try to reply. My answer goes far beyond "I've just been busy!" and maybe you too will connect with how I've felt:
The other day I received an email from a fellow follower of my work, asking the question of why I left Facebook. Not that everyone should know my daily activities, but if you haven't noticed, a couple of months ago I had deleted my FB in order to focus on my property LMS, as it's shaping up for film, and the next book in the series, LMS: Welcome to America
Now before I continue, this is strictly my opinion. I know people like to get angry online, so if you disagree with it, you have every right to

It was founded in the 8th century, eventually becoming based in Baghdad, and was a major intellectual centre during the Islamic Golden Age. Scholars there made it their business to collect as much information as they could, from all corners of the known world. They would collect books and texts and return them home for translation. It made the people of the Islamic world among the most culturally advanced on the planet.
They constructed astronomical observatories, they forwarded the science of medicine, mathematics, chemistry, zoology, geography and cartography. They drew upon the work of both those who had come before, and their contemporaries, and then advanced it. Many inventions from the Islamic Golden Age have had a legacy that lasts up until this very day:
So, what happened? If the House of Wisdom was such a fountain of knowledge a

From time to time, I think I am very lucky in that my existence is caught up in what I do. I write, because I can't not write. And I draw for the same reason. Other people, apparently, are not this lucky. So I guess this journal is for them. I personally have a difficult time doing everything the Internet demands. I have difficulty with Twitter, I'm lousy at my Facebook, and my account here on DA is probably the only thing that I check consistently. But, that's because I have a life. I have a project that I'm worki

Please keep in mind that any Generations I-VI pokemon-based character/NPC can come from any of these countries, but Generation VI must come from a country that is not the Sun Empire (aka Pokimono). These lands are also not available to be RPed in — they are fo

No one knows where the Electrodrakes came from, but all we know is that they were here before we ever were. Fossilized remains older than that of even dinosaurs have been found in locations all around the world. For hundreds of millions of years these creatures have been responsible for the creation of storms, as well as for making these storms disappear. These creatures feed only on electrical energy, and it's population in the past was low, so low there were only a few. Though with the humans and their electrical energies, these creatures have large supplies of "food" all over the globe and their population continues to grow. With the expansion of the human population and their electricity, the electrodrake have also spread far and wide. With larger and larger supplies of electricity becoming

t seems there’s nothing quite as dear to the hearts of many of our deviants as their production of fan art, and at the same time, there is nothing so knotted with legal and ethical headaches. Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, but in the form of fan art it has also become one of the most frustratingly complicated. At some point, the sheer volume of fan art around a single property may become so large that the issue rises to another level of scrutiny by the creators of the original work.
With this dynamic in mind, we thought the following panel that Josh Wattles, our Advisor In Chief here at deviantART, and a mystery guest named Harold Smith, gave at Comic Con this year might be of immense help in understanding the ever evolving elements of fan art

dA seems like it's slowed down a fair bit these days anyhow, and I have a feeling that the next site update will probably make dA crash on my old-age computers, so idk, I probably won't be super active on here again for a couple months yet.

Cutscene to the ChaseEarlier today I had watched a promo of Decode at the Japanese Nintendo site.Cutscene to the Chase2 years ago in Personal More Like This
All and all quite interesting!
It basically has Mirei, the sexy librarian chick with the Angewomon and LadyDevimon, narrate the whole thing as she hacks into more computer systems in a cutscene. In particular, as she recalls the events from the earlier game, she glances at a screen labeled "New World" which she promptly touches and gets sucked back into the DigiWorld, I'm assuming.
What's interesting to note is the heavier usage of animated cutscenes, scattered throughout the promo. Though I'm not sure if they are all part of a large opening movie or not. One thing I thought I saw was an animated cut scene of Nikolai's father rigged up as a cyborg for some reason. Another was Nikolai, Yuya, Akiho and Mirei talking to Taiga as he stands in some kind of beam of light in the Digital World.
The trailer does seem to confirm one thing I was curious about since the announcement of Rina into the game. It seems you can

August 1st, 1999. It's the day when seven normal kids in a summer camp were suddenly thrust into a strange dimension called the "Digital World." A world inhabited by Digital creatures, that can laugh, feel and cry; The Digimon.
Befriending seven Digimon, strong bonds between Human and Digimon were then forged, and from that day on, the Journey has begun.
Perhaps I too, began my own Journey with Digimon Adventure as a fan of the franchise. As I thread along, season after season, and adventure after adventure I also met and encounter new friends and fellow fans who also share the same love and passion for the franchise over time. It was because of those, my own Journey was a memorable one as well.
As I look back, how I realized that how far and how

Akari and Zenjirou were sort of the odd ducks in the whole shebang due to not having a Digivice or any sort of Digimon specific to themselves, though both versions have somewhat stretched this by having them be buddies with Cutemon and RarePickmon. Not having a partner or device isn't entirely new to the franchise as the audience has been introduced to Rei Saiba from V-Tamer and Kiyoshi from D-Cyber. Perhaps Akari and Zenjirou were meant to be references or riffs to these characters to an extent, but no one can say for sure unless Riku Sanjou releases Notes about the series.
Now the tables are turned as the recent manga scans have been leaked into the 'net. During a battle with Tactimon and his u
