This is a photo from the last model workshop for 2009. For many years I produced calendars that depicted fitness scenes. Whilst these calendars had some artistic license to provide sex appeal I have always endeavoured to make the shots look as real as possible. To this end I wanted Tara to look like she was resting between sets on the punching bag. Very important that her face and general demenour looks unaware to the presence of any camera.

Will be ruinning regular model workshops in 2010. Also regularly running personal tuition for the rest of this year.

Think that photos depicting people who are free and in the moment are incredibly empowering for those who view them. A person can have a range of expressions but if they are not being genuine the viewer can sense the lack of reality even if they may not see it. I believe that the model in this photo has an enormous power of essence. When she is free from inner struggle as she is in this shot I believe she inspires people to have greater faith in life.

This is an image from the Pumped Up Down Under calendar that I used to publish. These calendars were started in 1989 and at the time I had a motivation to encourage women to work out. I still love the look of fit women and think that muscle tone combined with a woman's natural curves is such an empowering site.

These days I run workshops that encourage people to appreciate the beauty of the female form. For those interested please visit [link]

This is another shot from one of the calendars I used to produce. I love the shapes of women's bodies and have always been passionate about my photography. Nudes are my favourite as the beauty presented is transparent and not as open to interpretation. I felt with my clothed calendar shots that I was taking some creative license with how the models were dressed. However I did all I could to pose them beautifully rather than with suggestion. I also endeavoured to direct their attention into the moment to give the shot as much authenticity as possible. I beleive that if a person looks unaware to the camera in the shot that the affect on the viewer is so much more powerful.

This is a shot from about 2001 I think. It was from one of my calendars and was inspired by the male sprinters at the Olympics in Sydney. They had amazing physiques and were pulling their unitards down after thier races. So I took some artisitc license and set up a similar scene here with Shona. Think her figure looks even more impressive than the male athletes. Having said this have always preffered the artistic lines of the female form. Also think that the authenticity of her expression adds much impact to this photograph.

Another shot from the historical files of my Pumped Up Down Under calendar. Nikki has been perhaps the most popular model ever. Love how natural she looks in this photo. I believe that if a model is relaxed and in the moment that the imapact of the shot is so much greater than if she was obviously playing up to the camera.

To view my new 2009 online calendar please go to [link] Have 2 versions due to the fluctuating exchange rates.

Each calendar features art nude imagery combined with empowered thoughts. I believe that the female nude can be so empowering if it is presented with style , passion and grace.

This is another shot from one of my old calendars. The model Stacey is one of the more powerful personalities that I have used in the series. Amazing looks but an even more powerful inner self. These days I teach photography and one of the best pieces of advice I give is to connect with yourself and your subject at a deep level.

I believe that most humans are self absorbed. That we have been hurt and dis appointed in life and carry around emotional baggage. This baggage often comes out when people are faced with a camera. However when a model can let go of baggage and be fully present as who they really are the results are so empowering.

In this shot I beleive that Stacey is so free and in the moment. She is not concerned about the camera or for this moment life's struggles. Given that her inner sensitivity is so powerful when she is free and enjoying herself being in her presence is so inspiring. I am hoping that seeing and feeling this shot will inspire those who view it.

The model in this pic worked with me frequently back around 2003-04. I loved working with her as she had what I felt to be an incredible body. Beautiful shapes and wonderful toning. However more than this she had such passion and excitement for the process. She was not necessarily happy or settled in other areas of her life but in our photography her true essence seemed to shine through. Photographing her and seeing and feeling this beauty used to lift me so high. It was like I couldn't imagine wanting to be anywhere else in these moments. I think one of my greatest desires with all my work is that others feel the essence beauty of the photographs and feel better about themselves and life.

This is a pic from the cover of my 2001 Pumped Up Down Under calendar. I spent about 20 years producing these and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Whilst I don't produce this calendar these days I do enjoy running workshops where I help others to photograph models. Much emphasis is placed upon directing the model to look both aesthetically attractive and natural.
