Anyway, I picked this costumes because quite simply I love Resident Evil and have never really found a character that I fit. I'm a big supporter of Wesker/Umbrella and well, being a S.T.A.R.S. member never really captured me. So, when Resident Evil 5 came out I fell in love with it, and in turn Excella. So, I picked her costume to do with my friend's () Jill.
I made the costume out of stretch poplin. I originally bought some higher end satin because her costume looked like it may have been a satin, but after working with it and taking some photos of it...I trashed it.
The skirt I made in one evening (about 4 hours) after my original skirt had cherry coke spilled on it the night before the convention. Regardless of a time restraint, I feel it came out nicely.
My friend Ann () made my earrings and I can't thank her enough!
Panty, Stocking....Panty...Panty.....Stocking! Anyway, let me just say how much I loved this show. It seems to be extremely popular right now but for good reason! It's really entertaining...at least it was to me.
This costume was one of the first that I finished for Megacon 2011. It was fairly simple. Took about two days given my procrastination. I drafted the pattern for the top and for the skirt myself. I went with a navy stretch poplin since it's an amazing material! The shoes were my homecoming shoes from 8th grade....stand in win!
The hats were made while time was running short and most of the detail work was done by Adrian since I really needed an extra set of hands.
The prop baton was also made by Adrian and functioned as a bubble maker as well!!! Too much fun!
In case you aren't familiar with the serious or the outfit it is from the show Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt. This particular outfit is worn in Episode 7, during the girls attempt to find employment.
Poor Excella, it would have been nice to be Mrs. Albert Wesker, too bad XD I once again tried my best to look out of it in most of these pictures. Jill is essentially a "zombie" in this game since she has no control over herself. For this photo it was essentially Jill being Excella's bodyguard. I really think that Dee captures the look of Excella perfectly, expression and all. Wearing this costume was actually very comfortable except for the fact that it was like wearing nothing at all since the fabric was so thin. Essentially when I was indoors I was freezing the entire time. It was entirely worth it though, I love Resident Evil and I absolutely love cosplaying as Jill.
Listen to teacher! Matsumoto should be a School teacher...I could see her as the cool 3rd grade teacher you never forget. maybe it's the glasses...but it's the feeling I get from this photo, not student but teacher.
I thought the title was fitting since Excella is anything but an angel LOL
So here we have it, what started in March is now finished and over with. It was a lot of hard work, a lot of planning but I am very happy with the results. Cosplaying this version of Jill proved to be difficult as opposed to her other outfits. Technically she is not the same character so I had to pretty much put a blank stare on my face the whole time. Wearing this costume was rather easy except for wearing gloves, they make simple things difficult. I decided not to make holsters for the guns because I didn't like the way they looked on the costume. As for the suit itself everything worked out fine, just have to make a few repairs before I wear it again.
A thanks goes out to for being the amazing Excella that she is.
