My sister, Crazymegami here, is wearing our cosplay masterpiece: Samus Aran, complete with wig. Nope, my sis is not a real blond.
I had to put this in costumes/textiles even though not a single one was used in this cosplay (besides the base, of course). Erm, what was in in... metal wire, foam, spray, cardboard, erm, how do you say "plâtre" again? and kilometers of tape: duct tape, paper tape, electric tape, etc. Took us more than a hundred hours and three hundred dollars to make it, but damn are we proud of it. Maybe I'll post a full picture of it, when I'll find one that I actually like.
In case you're wondering, we presented it in Montreal's Otakuthon 2007 Masquerade and won best in class in Journeyman division. (Well, it was presented with 3 other cosplays: Link, Mario and Pit, part of our Super Smash Bros skit. You should have seen it, we were awesome.)
This unusual purple Amethyst chip key chain has genuine mini gemstone pieces glazed over onto a military dog tag style pendant. The surface is uneven and appears to look liquid - like a shallow puddle. This keychain would make a perfect stocking stuffer for someone who "has it all."
The military dog tag shape measures 28x50mm and is made of stainless steel. The gunmetal grey key ring is 20mm, which is slightly smaller than standard sized key rings.
There's a silver necklace you can buy on the internet for some $112. That seemed way too expensive for my tastes and I didn't like the way the star was done in the center of the ouroboros. So I made my own necklace. A dogtag. And it only cost me:
~ $10 of silver ~ 3 to 5 hours of sawing, cleaning, soldering ~ 4 to 6 hours of cleaning and buffing ~ about 1 hour to color the recessed areas (and despite the errors I made, I think they give it character) ~about 5 days of fretting (it was a rushed job, I wanted it completed for the FMA one-time theater showing here in town)
I'm thinking of taking commissions for dog tags. With another 2 to 3 hours of cleaning and buffing I can make it reflect like a mirror.
I thought my jack o lantern muse had left me, but then it came and bit me in the ass so I did this today. Not bad for my first one in a couple of months, but it could be better.
Lucario again. Cause I like 'im. Only on a watermelon this time. Yeah. Took about 2 and a half hours, and I did most of it while watching Moulin Rouge. And that's all I can think to say about this one.
