This is the fourth heart to my Industrial inspired heart collection, entitled "Old Versus New Technology".
I was taking pictures of this piece in my lightbox at about 6am this morning and I had accidently left my settings on "Sepia" so it gave this antiqued-brass heart a very old style look that I just had to put it up.
So yes, I like the way that the capacitor and diodes line up so well with the alignment of the picture. Their very perpendicular and parallel to eachother. I kind of like that. It's like a steam engine or something.
Anyways, look for my new pictures of this piece in my gallery!
A sneak peek at my next cosplay adventure: the front of Abel's cross, based on the THORES illustrations. No, it's not as long as it probably should be, but I don't personally have anime proportions, either
I wanted it to have a textural, multi-toned gold look to it, like it was very old. I think I succeeded... gotta love RubnBuf! That on top of black & 2 colors of gold spray paint... *koffkoff*
The best thing? It cost me practically nothing but time to make. The whole thing is made of foamboard, craft foam, toothpicks, hot glue, coffee straws & air dry clay (which was prolly the most expensive thing, but OMG I love it!)
EDIT: Oh, and fabric paint. Almost forgot.
I'll upload the back next. It's got a surprise! XD
This is the face of the Skeleton Tree from the Nightmare Before Christmas that I'm still in the progress of finishing... this year to go with my themed yard decor. I'm adding the mummyboy which I just finished and this guy. So far its just fabric with sharpie and paint to make up the face and then I used glow paint to bring out the eyes and mouth to make them pop more in the dark and look creepy... for the knothole look around the face I used expanding foam that I just painted and it gave me the look I was really wanting for that natural look.
