Venom-- Ron and HermioneImagine for a moment, that you are Ron Weasley.Venom-- Ron and Hermione6 years ago in Humor More Like This
In this moment, you are wandering around the chamber of secrets with your friend (who you are hopelessly, and completely in love with) Hermione Granger. Other than the fact the there is a giant, dead Basilisk just behind you, a wizarding war is raging right above you, you just killed a piece of the most-evil-thing-on-earths soul, and you are in the girls bathroom, nothing is out of the ordinary. Then, you get bit by a spider after walking through its web.
A normal person might just scream, flap their hand, and then laugh about it with their mates. But bear in mind this is no normal person.
This is Ron Weasley.
HERMIONE!!!! Ron screamed, running around blindly through the dark passage way, flapping his hand, and looking ever so much like a decapitated chicken. GET IT OFF! He flapped his hand harder, whimpering, trying to break the spiders hold on his flesh. Oh god, he hated spiders, bloody things always

The sound of knuckles popping echoed through the dilapidated ballroom. The silver chamber set up in the center hissed loudly as it opened.
I feel.... ah... A woman breathed deeply, then sighed happily. I feel fantastic. Slowly she stepped from the blinding lights inside the chamber, dressed in a black smock.
Would you like to see your new body? A tall man in a grey uniform stepped forward, motioning towards one of the few mirrored walls that hadn't been smashed. Most of our clients don't care, but I knew you'd like to see. He pointed her towards the mirror that had been cleaned of all dust and grime.
Love is EasyI love you is so easy to say,Love is Easy7 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
But do you mean it in anyway?
I dont know why you use it so often
Because it seems to soften
These feelings that I have for you
No matter how much you seem to do
Everything seems to force itself into our lives
And encase us in a case of hives,
That ruin the magic we share,
And leave our emotions bare
For all to see and discover
What is wrong and wonder,
How come they are so perfect,
Yet cant seem to connect
In a way that others find,
And makes us yearn in our minds
To find the path to a new found glory,
That puts on a fitting end to this story,
Which ends with us in a love so strong
There is wonder to where it came from,
But its for us to live and discover,
All the little quirks and mysteries of our lovers.

The world seems to be in disarray.
I look around, but theres nothing to say.
I try to hard to get my way,
but nothing is going well today.
I'm feeling rather good today.
I'm smiling wide, listening to "The Fray"
The way he sings in that certain way,
next to me, by my side, just you and me, I pray,
that we could lay, everyday, just like we are today.
I'm feeling rather Indifferent today.
The worlds the same day after day,
I wont care, when they decay,
because today, I know they'll say,
Whatever they want, but it won't be true.
So what they chose to say,
is that this was written for you.

awaketake a fucking chance. be who you want to be. do not conform. you are a wonderful mess of carbon and opportunity - do not waste that. if there's a word on the tip of your tongue, say it. be daring. be brilliant. grab each day by the throat and say out loud that today is going to be badass. mean it. sometimes things are gonna suck a lot, and that's okay. you're gonna want to not be around - and that's okay, too. the notion is fine but your gut instinct is going to be telling you to stick it out and that is exactly what you have to do. for yourself. if you start living by other people's standards then you tie yourself down, you will become somebody that you are not. change is fine, it's natural, you are going to change. but don't let other people shape you to become something they desire. stand tall and say it's all or nothing. your destiny isn't there to be fucked up by the toxicity of anyone else, or anything else, for that matter. all that matters is you andawake1 year ago in Free Verse More Like This

I found myself staring into the darkness.
The vast unknown excited me. It kept me going.
Just as much as it scared me.
Decided to stay at home. Couldn't find any rest.
Turned on the TV. No signal. Cold. Alone.
"Take a walk."
"What are you afraid of anyway, boy?"
"You already lost it all."
Convinced myself. Took my coat; went outside.
Whatever should happen, I didn't care...

Veser sat in his seat between the other graduating students, and he was fuming. Of course no one would show up to his graduation--it was only the most important graduation of his life!! It didn't help that he was feeling utterly ridiculous in the cap and gown, or the fact that the tassel was being a hassle (hey, that rhymes!).
It wasn't like he expected his mother or father or Lee to show up--they were either dead or missing. He didn't expect Conrad to show up, either--it wasn't sunset yet. He did expect the other people that matter to show up though. But of course they wouldn't. His life made cruel and perfect sense that way.
He sat there and listened to one of the members of the board of education drone on and on about the difference between intelligence and wisdom. Apparently, school teaches intelligence, and the world teaches wisdom. Also, a lot of your wisdom comes from the people you know who care about you--the people sitting in the audience. This speech
Halcyon Days - PrologueHalcyon Days - Prologue5 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
It was a cold, clear night, the only light sources being a few stars beginning to appear in the sky and a thin crescent moon rising in the northwest. The country road was clear and empty, the occasional deer moving across seeking one last meal before heading back into the seclusion of nearby woods. The only sound to be heard for miles was the occasional chirp of a cricket or the buzzing of cicadas in the distance.
That silence was shattered as an old black van made its way down the road, turning off into a nearby bypass. It made its way towards a large warehouse and slowly halted in front of it. The doors open, and two well-dressed men stepped out from the front seats. They swept over the landscape silently, and then looked to one another the driver nodded, and the man who had occupied the passenger seat moved to the rear door and opened it.
"We're clear, Mr. Canmore."

And with Pain.
With Cold and with Fear.
There are no walls here, or they would press in upon this very soul;
Choke it to death.
Here, there is only the soft howling of the wind; a final lullaby
To ears who have had enough of the screaming, and yet still yearn for more.
To look above is to see the evening sky;
Painted the deep vermillion of the spilled blood of the innocents.
To look away would be shameful, a deprivation to the last bit of light;
Darkness will find these eyes soon enough.
The platform creeks under the weight of many a foot;
Some bare, raw and bloody;
Bits of splinters poking in and out of the skin.
Some clad in the old, worn leather of shoes that had survived the flooding;
The gnawing of the rats.
No one is safe.
Those before might sob; but the emotion is too clustered;
Knotted and tangled up to be expressed so plainly.
They fall, the suffering ended all too soon.
The thickness is fitted around a slender neck;

"Awww, but I want them to stay!" Whined Desmond.
"No. They go when we figure out how to take them back to their time periods." Lucy demanded.
Desmond pouted, and then his stomach rumbled. He looked at Lucy. "Lucy, what day is it?"
Lucy blinked and said "Sunday, why?" Desmond's eyes brightened.
"OH MY GOD IT'S STEAK AND EGGS DAY." Sunday was steak and eggs day for Desmond, and he enjoyed it. It was the only time Abstergo ever let real food in, instead of the plastic-tasting crap they always fed him.
"Steak and eggs? What are those?" Altair asked. He just woke up and his eyes were a bit baggy. He blinked and looked at Desmond. Desmond turned to Lucy and said "What are we going to do? They'll get suspicious if you ask for three orders of steak and eggs."

Is it a blessing? A responsibility? A burden?
It's not quite alive yet.
It does not yet breathe, or react, or maintain homeostasis.
It does not yet think, or dream, or hope.
It does not yet feel, or comprehend loss, or understand what it's like to be
Loved or hated,
Ecstatic or dejected,
Proud or shamed.
It comes to no conclusions, it makes no decisions,
So it cannot be truly alive.
But it's not quite dead either, as it grows and matures.
It develops new complexities
And becomes more and more
Because, eventually, that's what it could be.
A new human, a new person,
A new body inhabiting Earth.
But right now it is a fetus,
Dormant, unthinking, evolving within you.
Tell me, almost-mother
How old are you? An adult, a teen?
When did this happen? How much has it grown?
Where does it grow? Your womb, your fallopian tubes?
Were its gametes healthy? Would it be disabled, mentally or physically?
Who's the almost-father? Is he someone you

The distance between Olivine City and Ecruteak City was a short one. Assuming one didn’t get lost or get horribly distracted along the way, transit between the two cities was relatively quick. In Alex’s case, she was confident that she could get between the two cities in a manner of days.
“Alex! Wait up!”
However, Alex wasn’t alone on the trip. She paused and sighed apologetically as she turned back. “Sorry Nick.”
“Sorry, you say…” Huffing as he caught up to his girlfriend, Nicholas looked exhausted. “In case you hadn’t noticed, I’m not used to walking everywhere I go. I drive.”
“You keep in shape.”
“I’m flexible. Illusionists aren’t built for endurance, we’re built for flexibility. Best I can do for a run is a sprint, not a marathon.”
“I guess that means you’re dangerous in tight quarters.” At the illusionist’s quirked ey

The sun shone down brightly upon Ecruteak City, filling Alex with some confidence as she made her way through town. A healthy breakfast and being fresh off a pleasant day sightseeing hadn’t hurt either. Her positive mood hadn’t been lost on Nicholas, leading him to remark, “You’re looking bright today. That battle yesterday didn’t damper your spirits too much.”
“If a difficult battle was enough to discourage me, then I wouldn’t have gotten out of Lilycove. If anything, it was a good warm-up for the gym battle.”
Not surprised by his girlfriend’s eagerness, Nicholas shook his head. “Well, call me crazy, but I’m not in a rush for you to battle with that Cal guy again. He was a bit too full of himself for my liking.”
“It’s the rare one of us that doesn’t have a little bit of ego trouble. He’s not a bad guy, and besides, the next time we battle, I…”

A Transformers: Armada Story

Pyro hated the tunnels that ran beneath Cybertron's cities. He understood perfectly that they were essential for maintenance purposes, that they helped to provide power to places across Cybertron, that going down into them was common enough for maintenance mechs and up, but nonetheless, he hated them with a passion. Well, not so much hated them as hated being in them. Other mechs in the security forces would no doubt laugh, but the young mech always had a chill race up and down his servos each time he ventured into them, no matter who he was with.
"There aren't any scraplets down here. You can relax."
That he was with Streetwise only helped matters so much. "It's not scraplets I'm worried about. Well, not specifically. Let's face it; this is a dark and creepy tunnel. There could be anything down here."

Much like many other small towns, Canterville had one or two independently owned and operated restaurants, which attracted clientele as much because of good food as due to a family atmosphere. Thanks to that, the restaurant that Alex and Cass found themselves at was comfortable, cozy, and put them both at ease. The company didn't hurt either.
"I'm sorry about everything you've been through, Alex. From everything I've heard "
"Twyla, please." Alex offered the violet-eyed young woman a reassuring smile. "I know what you're about to say, and I appreciate it and the sentiment behind it. But the more I get reminded of what I've been through, the harder it'll be for me to move on and let go. I did what I did, and while I've accepted that I have to live with it, I don't want to dwell on it and let what I've done be the only thing defining me." The smile grew wider as she added, "That all said, thank you."
"Besides, we've got a nice meal waiting for us." Sam beamed as

If Alex had known the rigmarole that would be involved in accepting Rachel's offer to update her wardrobe, then she'd have politely declined. Still, in comparison to everything else she'd been through, getting her measurements taken was hardly the greatest inconvenience.
"And that's the last one!" Much to her client's relief, Rachel set aside her tape measure and wrote down the last of her measurements. "I must say, I've never measured for a woman with your dimensions before. However do you find clothes that fit so well?"
"A little bit of luck in stores and some help from a tailor. Still, this is the first time anyone's volunteered; I appreciate it."
"Oh, it's no trouble at all. Besides, a little bit of free publicity for my business never hurt." She made a broad gesture to indicate her business, various dummies and accoutrements associated with handmade clothing and tailoring arrayed abou
