World War Z: EndingsThis was found in an elementary school in the outskirts of Biloxi, Mississippi written in what appears to be crayon on the wall. It is unfinished and heartbreaking. After ten years, the bones are still gnawed and evident.
Fiends of the flesh,
harboring the truer life.
On they came;
The moans begot more
The moans made sleep worse.
Caught in the moment,
There was solace in this
when they came back.
Dripping blood and gore
Making our family
Humanity ended here.
Under scores of grave-ridden nails,
the barricade fell
to the soundtrack of Hungry wails.
Worm ridden flesh

They come for me now,
I hear them in the halls.

Chewing on the walls.

WWZ: Judging Books By Covers [I am at the Library of Congress in Washington D.C. The white, historic building stands towering above me, no less formidable post war than it had once been, despite the numerous pockmarks on the exterior façade created by gun shells during the battle to retake the city. Inside the main lobby though everything is clean and shiny and organized as though there had never been a war. A handful of workers are cleaning, polishing and restoring order. My own work, however, takes me further into the more remote parts of the library. Here stairs are in disrepair, railing and banisters are crumbling, windows are shattered, plants reach in through every crack, like green, skeletal fingers, dead leaves scream crisp shouts as they are crushed under my feet. It makes me wonder why someone would even bother trying to fix this place up. Its just dusty old books that no one reads anyway. WWZ: Contest LegendGreat Panic: The Great Panic is the name given to the time of mass hysteria surrounding humanity's realization of the reality facing them. Because of the level of denial that the USA was in over the nature of the zombie threat through the first winter, the public was unprepared. No large-scale warning was made, and due to the media-as-big-business culture in the United States at the time, many news outlets had treated warnings of the zombie plague as simply another disease outbreak like Ebola or SARS outbreaks of previous years: after the initial "buzz" about it wore off and due to a phony vaccine, everyone thinking it was under control, the media simply stopped reporting about it and moved on to the next big celebrity news, etc. As a result, the first that many typical middle-class suburban Americans knew of the undead threat was when zombies came crashing through their living room windows.WWZ: Contest Legend6 years ago in Editorial More Like This

[The woman I am about to meet was left outside the safe zone with the rest of the undesirables during the first instigation of the Redeker plan. She was among the first to gather together a small group and set up a defensible operation outside of the Safe Zone. Deemed unwanted by their government they were left as bait for the Zacks, receiving occasional support from the military to prolong their usefulness. While other parts of the country remain relatively Zack free, this area is still highly infested.
This is one of the few groups that survived being 'live bait' for the government. Though such a term implies a willing participation, when in reality no choice was given to any of them.
Upon meeting her she isnt quite what I expected, tall and freckled, dressed in faded jeans and army boots, long dark hair held back by a red scarf and green eyes narrowed against the sun. She looks at once stronger and more fragile t

Do you think that the absence of wars and our faithful police force will keep you out of harm's way?
Do you think that the threat of nuclear warfare is nothing more than just a threat?
Do you sleep well after those horror movies knowing that they are not real?
Do you feel safe?
What if I told you to forget about all that? Forget about robberies, forget about rapists and forget about murderers.
Those are not the real threats.
Forget about wars, forget about nuclear holocausts and forget about that friggin' global warming!
Those are NOT the real threats!
The REAL threat is not some potential danger. The REAL threat is not something the governments can control.
The REAL threat is not driven by political interests, only by hunger.
The REAL threat never halts, it requires no rest.
The REAL threat is already out there and has been haunting the living with its festering jaws since the dawn of time.

Z-DayThis is the story of Z-day. For those of you who dont know: It was not one day, but three it started on April 12th 2010: on the first day the dead rose, scientists suspect that there were seven thousand Zombies when it first started, then by the end of the first day there were sixteen thousand. By the second day the Military began a retalliation against the Z in the infected countries: America, China, Germany, England and Brazil. On the third day the Zombies were ahnilated to the point that the UN gave a world wide green-light, though occasional Z would be found they were easily taken out by the UN in secret just like before the incident. in the following pages is my interview with eight soldiers who survived the Z-day incident.Z-Day6 years ago in Science Fiction More Like This

I met someone...
he has brown eyes just like yours -
Dark, fathomless, mysterious.
I knew him before I even met him.
He was just like you and yet
he was everything that you were not...
I got to know him,
a change from you and I,
He laughs at my jokes, and smiles
at my insanity.
He's kindness in the extreme.
He cries when I do,
and doesn't make fun of my sensitivity.
Is there a stronger word besides "love"
to say how I feel for him?
He's tender where you would have been unyielding...
He's strong where you would have fallen apart...
He's what you might have been to me
if we had really been in love.

You promised me you wouldn't
You jumped off today.
I don't know what was going through your head.
Except for the bullet piercing your temple.
Maybe you were thinking about us,
Our first kiss
We were both so scared,
You told me to look at the stars in the sky,
To find the brightest one,
You placed your head right next to mine,
And called my name,
You turned to me and said
"I found it"
and then you kissed me.
I remember when you went out with him,
Just to pretend,
You hid under a veil,
I drove you to see him,
I just wanted you to be happy
I watched you,
Under our star.
He found us,
He didn't understand,
You explained it was nothing more than
A drunken love,
You never will know,
How much I loved you
I watched him beat you.
I tried to stop him,
You wouldn't let me.
Bruises turned to blood.
You came to me,
Crying in my arms,
I told you everything would be okay,

Tenzarium Interview No:001The first question people always want to ask is how I lost my leg. No, not how.... when. In which war? That is what breaks my heart, that in my life time, in not even 70 years, have we seen so much war, so many brutal, global conflicts, that the question mark that hangs over every injury like mine, is not how, but more when and which. For the record, it was the first war; the Oil War, or OPC War or Ten Year War, whatever the current trendy buzzword for that conflict is. During the war, I knew it as the Oil War, so whatever it is called now, please excuse this old man, but to me, it will always be the Oil War.Tenzarium Interview No:0018 years ago in Philosophy & Perspectives More Like This

My father often told tales of an epidemic called the 'Red Scare' and how it tore through the land, turning friends into targets, and bringing forth a new terror to the world. Countries that were once allies in the old war now had each other in their cross hairs. Spies had infiltrated the enemy's land, gathering information for their side. My father, with a flash of disappointment in his tone, told us of how the war soon turned to a standstill, and how no lives were lost, until a single press of a button unleashed Lucifer from Hell. In an instant, children who were walking home from school, mothers who were cleaning house and preparing a roast, and men who were puffing cigars while laughing their cares away managed but a confused glance to the white flash. There were those who were dubbed lunatics by their friends who had registered their loved ones to shelters deep in the earth.

"Xander? You won't meet another... well, it's easier to tell you the story than to try and explain..."
It starts off real simple... Man finds a book. A tome so old, it's literally falling apart; buried underneath the Earth since time immemorial. Book is said to contain some of the most powerful spells ever devised. The strongest barriers, the most lethal attacks, regenerative abilities that can pull one back from the threshold. Magic so old that the verbal incantations are lost to history.
Through some bookwork, he finds that the words weren't lost, they never were. None of these spells have ever been spoken aloud, because they can't be; not properly. It would come out as unintelligible gibberish.
He also learns some of the massive history behind the book. The confirmed history is that the book itself started as Sumerian, proven by the type of binding and parchment, but the language and spells inside are second to none. So
