Extinction ch 22Chapter Twenty-two
Kirk sat in his place on the bridge watching the beautiful blue aurora of Warp speed. They were heading towards Star Base 17. It was a six day journey from their place near Natala at full Warp, but they were now only a few hours away from their destination. Kirk turned as he heard the elevator doors opening.
Spock stepped onto the bridge with Uhura at his side. She still looked highly stressed, but at least her eyes were alive again now that Spock had returned. Uhura pushed herself up on her tip toe and kissed Spocks cheek. This was an action that at any other time Spock would have discouraged, but he accepted it gratefully and brushed his fingertips against her temple affectionately in response. From the way Uhura smiled Kirk wondered if hed just witnessed a quick mind meld.
Uhura took her place at the communications board. Spock glanced around at the bridge to make sure that everything was in working order. Satisfied he made his way up to the Captain

General O'Neill watched from the Control room as the Gate sprung to life with an incoming wormhole. The iris automatically shut as they waited for the proper code. Everything so far was perfectly routine. SG1 was due back from what they had described as an uneventful mission.
"It's SG1, Sir." The technician announced.
"Open the iris."
Sam and Teal'c stepped from the event horizon onto the ramp and were quickly joined by Daniel. Jack was just about to turn away when a fourth stepped through the shimmering blue vortex. The unexpected guest was not human, it was a large dog that looked to be a cross between a German Shepard and a wolf. The animal looked around and his toothy jaw dropped open.
"Carter!" Jack called across the intercom. "On your six!"
Sam whipped around and froze at the sight of the large wolf like dog that was standing on the ramp behind her. She automatically raised her weapon at the creature. Teal'c also brought his staff weapon into posit

Jack roared as he rushed out into the hall in a fury. He was just in time to see the fleeting canines hindquarters slipping as he turned the corner too fast. There was the sound of nails scrapping against the high polished floor as Jackson made his get away.
Get back here you flea ridden walking fur factory!
The Wulf hybrid bounded down the hall towards the elevator with his tail held high. The people in the hall moved to the side as the pair barreled towards them. Jackson skidded to a stop in front of the closed elevator doors.
Got you now mutt-butt!
Before Jack could catch up to his prey Jackson reared up and slammed his paw down on the elevator button. The doors slid open and he escaped into the elevator. As the doors closed Jack could see the mirth in the Wulfs golden eyes.
Inside the elevator Jackson nose

Wakey, wakey! Wake up!
Wha... No, go away.
Uh...thats really not an option, Daniel.
Then just be quiet.
Gabriel could feel the cool breeze of what was promising to be a beautiful day outside blowing against Daniels face. He sighed in frustration as Daniel pulled the white silk covers up over his head to block out the sunrise. They had been living in Idlewyld for three months but Daniel had yet to adjust to the shorter days.
Come on, Daniel, get up!
Well, if youre not going to use your body, can I?
Knock yourself out.
Ill take that as a yes.
Gabriel chuckled as he took control and sat up. He stretched the kinks out of Daniels neck. He felt Daniel mentally rolling over and go

Sam opened her eyes to the inky darkness of the Idlewyld night. Something had woken her, but she wasnt quite sure what. She rubbed at her increasingly rounding stomach, but didnt feel anyone kicking at her at the moment. Jack was sound asleep next to her, so whatever it had been hadnt been enough to disturb him.
Shrugging it off Sam closed her eyes again. Before she could drift back to sleep a distant sound caught her full attention. This time she sat up and listened carefully for the noise to repeat itself. Even though she was greeted with silence she got out of bed anyway.
The whirr of a dialing Gate was something she was intimately familiar with. However the sound didnt have the right timing for someone to be dialing in or out, nor had there been the characteristic splash of the vortex. As she walked through the halls the alcove lights turned on a so

Description: (Angst, PG-13) This is the long awaited sequel to 'Crosswired'...if you consider 12 hours a 'long' wait. Daniel's back with the team, but now he has to decide if he's going to stay.
Sam looked around her lab and sighed heavily. Sooner or later she was going to have to pick up the broken pieces of her spectral analysis equipment that Jack had thrown to the floor. She knew it was silly, but the loss of the sophisticated machine felt like losing a beloved pet.
Kneeling down carefully she started to sort through the tangle of metal and glass. There was one part that seemed to have survived the fall, more or less. She had just picked it up when there was a light knock at her door.
The door opened slowly and Daniel cautiously stepped inside. As much as Sam hated to admit it he looked like he'd just escaped from an Insane Asylum. His hair had grown long enough to actually look messy, rather than just 'stylishly spiked'. His every motion wa

So... Jack put his hands in his pockets and smiled brightly what is it that you need?
It's a simple question, Daniel.
I need... Daniel stopped. He bowed his head and sighed heavily. I...
What was that?
Daniel muttered something that was completely unintelligible. Jack's smile spread even wider. He leaned against the door frame casually, his lupine grin matching the mischievous glitter in his eyes. He had been waiting for a moment like this ever since he had met the young archaeologist.
I'm sorry, Daniel, I didn't hear that.
I...I need help coming out of the closet.
I agree. Jack chuckled. But I don't see how I can help.
Damn it, Jack! Daniel roared.
What? Jack asked innoce

It was raining, it rained here a lot. Jack hadn't decided if the rain was a good thing or not. Death would come a lot quicker if it wasn't for the rain. Again he didn't know if that was a good thing or not. He looked down at the delicate woman in his lap. He had never thought of her as 'delicate' before, if anything he felt she was tougher than he was. Right now, however, she wasn't just delicate she was fragile. Anytime Jack was forced to move he did so in slow motion to keep from breaking her any further. Along with the physical injures, she was also battling an infection that was ravaging her whole body.
I should kill her, it would be so easy.
Jack had this thought more and more often as the days passed by. As Sam grew weaker he knew that he wouldn't even have to do something as violent as breaking her neck. He could just hold his hand tightly over her mouth for

This is just beautiful.
Dont encourage him, Carter.
Sam smiled as Daniel rolled his eyes and shook his head sadly. After they had agreed to stay for the tea ceremony Tsuyayaka had lead them to a secluded garden that was surrounded by a small bamboo forest. Sam walked over to the edge of the near by pond that held a pleasant waterfall. Brightly colour koi swam up to her and mouthed at the surface hungrily. Their round mouths held long flowing barbs of flesh at each corner.
These fish have whiskers. Sam noted.
When the koi turn into dragons they keep those whiskers, Daniel said as he joined Sam by the pond which is why Asian dragons have them, they were once all koi that managed to swim up and over the Dragons Gate waterfall.
Daniel, Jack sighed the amount of usele

Car uh River, stop that!
Using Sams icy blue eyes perfectly River glared at Jack. Sitting on one of the beds in the infirmary River once again grabbed the front of the lightweight jacket she was now wearing. Jack reached out and took her wrists.
No. Jack said with a stern tone.
With a look of defiance River jerked out of Jacks grasp and ripped the jacket open with enough force to send the buttons flying. With the jacket torn she went for the collar of the black undershirt. Jack took a firmer grip on Rivers wrists to stop her from undressing herself. Restrained the wulf in human clothing started biting at the evil shirt.
Daniel! Jack barked. Get over here and help me!
Im sorry, I thought you two were having fun.

who have stumbled across this, the first story in this series is called Crosswired (it's in my gallery somewhere).
"Ah, Major Samantha Carter."
"It's 'Colonel' now."
"Of course, my apologies."
The conversation seemed to go stagnate at that point in time. Sam took the opportunity to assess her situation. It wasn't exactly good. She stood in the middle of the control deck of a Goa'uld Mothership. She was unbound, but at the same time she was unarmed and alone.
Her gracious host was an ornately dressed blonde haired Goa'uld with dark eyes that glittered with an air of superiority. He flashed his eyes at her and she briefly considered using the trick Gabriel had taught her and flashing her own right back at him. Thinking better of she continued her inspection of the room instead.

Daniel and the rest of the team are still adjusting to Gabriel, while at the same time trying to discover the true intentions behind Ba'al's most recent exsperiments.
"I can't do this."
"Yes, you can."
"No, I don't think you understand." Daniel insisted. "I can't."
"You have to."
A sigh of frustrated defeat echoed in Daniel's mind. He didn't blame Gabriel for being exasperated with him. It had only been two weeks since he'd agreed to shelter Gabriel and he was still having trouble adjusting.
Actually when Daniel truly admitted it to himself it wasn't Gabriel that he was having difficulty with, it was his own mind that was being rebellious. Since things had calmed down the smallest tasks seemed impossible. Even now he was trembling with fear over a simple glass of water.
Gabriel encouraged him to at least pick it up, but he could

This is a little J/S, Angst/Ship, made just for my little reader Bee. Giggle. Hopefully the rest of you will enjoy it as well.
"I'm sorry, Carter."
"This isn't your fault, Sir."
Sam was right, there really wasn't anyone to blame, yet Jack felt responsible none the less. He didn't even bother looking around the room that he'd called 'home' for the past week. He knew the place by heart anyway. He just sat on the floor starting at Sam.
Laying on the floor Sam looked close to death. She had her eyes closed, but it was obvious that she wasn't even trying to sleep. Every breath took energy and each one seemed to threaten being her last. Blood streaked her skin, dried sweat had left a lace pattern in salt across it as well. Her brow furrowed as though she was going to start crying, but she reined in her emotions and held back any tears.
The mission had been dang
