Something about my da causes my dev's to only show in some watchers' inbox.
To me, this valley in the Eastern Cape is the most beautiful part of South Africa. It's just photo heaven for me thanks to a combination of unbelievable natural beauty and abandoned farm ruins everywhere.
It's the road between Elliot and Barkley East.
I'm going back there in Autumn. The area is famous for it's poplar trees which turn just as intensely yellow as America's ash trees.

This is one of the most amazing views in all of Colorado (unfortunately it doesnt translate that well in a small web version) This was a particularly quiet morning as I stood on a large rock to take this photo... The only sounds were elk bugling far away in the valley below.
The Sneffels range of the northern San Juan mountains are probably my favorite in all of colorado. Massive 14,000 ft mountains and sprawling ranchland as far as you can see. They call the area around here millionaire valley for obvious reasons. This photo was taken just down the road from Ralf Lauren's 25,000 Acre Double RL Ranch.
Submitted to scraps for a journal entry _____________________________
Last weekend I went to Algarve, in the south of Portugal, and on one day we had some interesting weather.
I've wanted to photograph this beach "properly" for a while now. It's on the Atlantic coast of Algarve, which is very wild. The rocks there are beautiful, this kind of sheered look carries on all the way up the cliffs, and I had a feeling it would work well with water washing over it.
Anyway, I took quite a few shots there on Saturday and had a good session. I quite like this shot (which I took really as a test to see the how well the dark rocks came out, and to compare exposure values between the rocks and the sky), and thought about submitting it as a proper deviation....but as I want to submit one of two shots from the same session, I don't want to have more than two shots in my gallery with the same sky. So here it is as a scrap for anyone who's interested.
Some of the craziest clouds i've ever seen. they were actually even more dramatic looking than this when i first spotted them but i was driving and by the time i pulled over and had a decent spot to shoot them they looked like this.
