Our first meeting was inside a closet.
Incidentally, so was our first year together.
Our first meeting was difficult.
We were like two tiny existentialists
Fighting for the most valuable resource of our times.
The darkness beyond the closeted door
Belonged to her. She had stayed there
Before I arrived and opened the door.
She wouldnt share her darkness with me.
She fought like a wild animal. Following
The two most important things in the closet
The animal instinct. And shadows
Darker than the darkness. And hence, glowing.
Her strength and her pace drew me to her.
I fought back.
We fought for many days. Continuously.
And then, like it happens with all fights,
We forgot why we fought.
The reason fell short of perpetuating forever.
And our fight went beyond the boundaries of reason.
Slowly, we came to realize that the fight
Had become something we looked forward to.
An excuse to each others company.
We knew each other by the smell of sweat.
And touch. We fought f

I want to do all the impossible

I remember a time:
Silver rivers, silver sky-
but with broken wings of mine
I was way too weak to fly.
I remember waterponds
with a crystal water stream
but while diving into time
I was too afraid to dream.
I remember starry skies
when at night the moon shone bright-
but though seeing all that magic
I was never satisfied.
I remember green meadows
When the wind blew through the willows-
but I'd hide in the shadows
and was glad to be alone.
I remember silent nights
the screams of a winter owl
but when sitting in my corner
I couldn't even try to howl.
I remember my old house
and my loving family-
but I didn't get along
and couldn't manage to be free.
I remember lovers face,
his eyes, his kiss, his lovely smile-
but I was afraid to fail
so I took away his life.

Tears in my eyes
My heart stopped
As I remembered your dead
Till this day I still dream of you
Does that mean you always with me
In my heart
How I wish you could see me
How I wish to see you just this once
Did you know he called just like he does every year in your memory
Since you have past
Would you smile
Would you be proud
They tell me you would
But how will I ever know
Your gone after all
All I want is to see you again
Just one last time but that will never be enough

When gay kids get depressed and take their lives each day.
These haters bag on gay kids and make them feel like shit,
Haters tell gays to give up on life and quit.
Girls liking girls and guys liking guys,
Continuing to tease, leading to suicide.
Fuck haters, they tell the gay kids to go "away."
We'll all band together and make those haters pay.

Your anti-gay votes help slit their throats.
They sit around and mope, slip their necks through the rope.

Goddess of DarknessEvil is Light and Good is Darkness: Darkness can exist without light, but even the brightest, strongest light casts a shadow.Goddess of Darkness6 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
She died a thousand horrible deaths,
Breathed a thousand painful last breaths
She held tight to her love
the light shining from above.
As the evil light drove away the darkness
No-one could find the goddess
For she hung above the battle like death
and breathed her last breath:
She sacrificed her life;
cut through the light like a knife.
The evil God of Light has fallen,
Her sacrifice destroyed him
As I stood and watched helplessly
my hand outstretched futilely.
My mother, my Goddess,
the root of dark goodness,
found eternal rest in the ether.
She watches from the skies
But she doesn't float; she flies

Band Days, Band Daze
Oh! To wake up in the morning to
The smell of polished brass,
This is the wake up call for a musician of the Senior Band Class.
We enter the band room organized, which we rehearsed,
It is common knowledge that the flute players go in first.
You might ask...
"Isn't that extra work? Why don't you just go in instead of making it into a big deal?"
And I would answer..
"It is only a big deal if you make it into one."
After we set up the room we take out our books and read,
Waiting, waiting for the moment that
All of us are freed.
The moment that we are allowed to take
Our instruments out to play,
This is only the beginning of a musical day.
You might ask...
"Why read books in band?"
And I would answer...
"You should not limit reading only to books."
Long tones, tuning, scales, more,
But before we start we must close the door,
And turn off the phone to make sure that
It won't ring,
So that we won't be distracted by anything.
You might ask...

I cannot dream away your face,
its sweet stain stalks my soul
where skin comes undone
and bleeds my body cold.

Your Judgement is strong as your anger, Ma'am
Your flawless frame is still at core bone
As is mine, yet to you I am a lamb
Ready to be raised and brought to Slaughter
You are strong but be cautious where you tread
You, Queen, are not made of stone and mortar,
What appears as Gold can in fact be Lead.
Tainted though I am, perfection's not my aim
While here I stand I can feel my mind grow
I know hate can only make the soul lame
And someday you must reap the dark seeds you sow.
But alas my time grows ever short
And the Irony of my judgment wears thin
So as always before harsh retort
You should consider what may be within.
Even as your cold dark eyes judge me
Remember that my eyes can also see.

Now a great battle has begun

Cannon balls shoot at stomping of boots
Fighting and smiting in Port Royal Square
In the salty air
What a bright time, it's the right time
To rock the night away
Cannon ball time, commit all crimes
To go sailin' on a breezy day
Oh bugger, cannon ship, trim all the sails
Sailing beyond the docks
Mix and a-mingle as we all set sail
That's the cannon ball rock
That's the cannon ball
That's the cannon ball
That's the cannon call rock
Marching Band"Marching band isn't a sport!"Marching Band8 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Oh, I beg to differ.
What makes Marching Band so different?
Some say it doesn't match the definition of sports.
Well let's see what the definition is.
Sports: An activity involving physical exertion and skill that is governed by a set of
rules or customs and often undertaken competitively. An active pastime;
So... the way I see it,
marching band is no different from a sport
The Marching band uses maybe
twice the physical exertion then a lot of other sports.
Sure football players get tackled while running up and down the field;
swimmers swim so many laps they feel as though they can't move their legs.
And other sports are similar
But the marching band runs across the field to a fro,
and our only break is a two minute ballad
where we are still moving but at a slower pace
And I don't see any of those swimmers holding a instrument
and playing into it while doing what their doing.
And Marching band is an activity governed by rules.

as your slippers
barely skim the night
under the willow spun moon.
You let them lead you
and pull you close
and gently trace
the blues of your face,
where stars hunt and steal
like shadow puppets.
You let them court you
and bed you,
the intimate twitch
of your silk
parting under fingers
that beg to touch your memories.
You let them explore
and feast on
the mystery of your limbs
as they fall against the sky,
watching you move
like a ghost
out under the slippery elms,
plucking ragged fire
from your youth.

with obscene acts to nouns and verbs.
I tie them up in sentences
and whip them till they make no sense.
I love the screams of prepositions
while pulling them in odd positions;
and conjunctions make a lovely din
when decapitated by my pen.
I bind the wrists of adjectives
just for the pleasure that it gives
and adverbs leave me hot and bothered
once their meaning is uncovered.
Interjections beg for release
with pronouns trembling on their knees.
And once my fiendish work is done,
you'll find that I have just begun
my scheme to try and make you see
it's not perverse - it's poetry.

No one suspected
she had blood
all over her tiny white hands
like sad red prayers
tucked into immaculate doeskin
and hidden from the world.
She kept count of her bad deeds
like a strand of rosary beads
suspended from her wrist
savoring each remembrance
vibrating on the chain
with a self-indulgent smile
And her sweet face bore no years
and her delicate fingers
left no trace
of the crimes
hanging inside her mouth
the hook and eye of her lips
stained like a broken bird.
But an artist had caught
the sockets behind her eyes
bulleted like wormwood
and where her cheekbones caved
under sallow flesh
and the vibrations of that chain
scored the skin between her fingers
leaving the canvas ruined
and the paint cracking
under her heart.

Enough to make Romeo's love

Watching the fountain in this sacred garden they stole away to
And he held her close as he sang
No darkness to behold
As the two were bright in the light of love
He brushed her hair from her face
Looked into her beautiful eyes
And whispered softly the three words
That only they could truly ever know
