Mother Goddess Necklace

To make this necklace I started with a sheet of very thick sterling silver metal that I cut and pierced out the goddess shape. Then it was filed and sanded to a smooth texture. I added a few hammer marks on it to accent the bezel wire. After the the piece was all soldered and pickled, it was polished to a high shine and the beautiful rutilated quartz cabochon and little tourmaline bead was added.

Meaning of Materials:
-Rutilated Quartz for astral travel, scrying and channeling.
-Tourmaline for Love, friendship, money, business, health, peace, energy, courage and astral projection.
-Silver for invocation, love, psychism, dreams, peace, protection, travel and money.

Avalon stems from "abal", a Celtic word for apple. This lovely wand is handcarved from applewood from a branch trimmed from one of the organic heirloom apple trees in the orchard on my parent's homestead. I handcarved this wand with Celtic inspired spirals reminiscent of the carved stones found in the Highlands and Islands of the UK, and also carved an apple blossom bud finial to reflect the spirit of the sacred apple tree. The wand is finished with a natural beeswax and almond oil mixture bringing out the natural colour and grain of the beautiful apple wood.

The apple tree was held sacred by the ancient Druids and other ancient cultures. It is a tree of life, death, and rebirth. It is believed the Druids used apple wood for their wands and staffs. Apple was a highly regarded sacred tree, in ancient Celtic law the punishment for harming or cutting down an apple tree would've been a torturous death. The apple is also associated with the mysteries of witchcraft as when cut in two the seeds form a pentagram. Apples are used in many folk magic spells for love, healing, and longevity. This tree and its wood have long been associated with the Otherworld, magic, and the fairies.

This wand would be a beautiful addition to any magical practitioner's ritual tools, or a great gift for someone who follows the path of the Druids or of natural magic and witchcraft.

It measures the traditional wand length of from the inside of the crook of the elbow, to the tip of the index finger - approximately 15.5 inches (40cm)

My favorite Batman villian, I had to do a sculpt of Mr. Freeze after I did my Harley Quinn sculpture. The dome is really there - a glass doll house item that was a real lucky find!

Better pictures of Seymour's little buds. Like I mentioned before, these guys were hand-sewn, the designs and leaves were precision-cut with a special laser, and their teeth are hand-cast plastic. They're about 8 inches tall, puny compared to their predecessor...

I did a run of these guys last year, about 50, and they were really popular. I'd like to do another run whenever I get some time, and maybe make some in a slightly larger scale or different colorway..
