Zero Blood Ch. 5Im sorry was the only thing the large man could say.
Zero just shook his head. Wills the one to blame. Hes the one that seemed to be the one responsible for the betrayal. I cant see Carlos thinking that up.
The man knew who he was talking about. Zero had brought both of them to meet him when they were working out a deal. That brought back a memory.
What did you want with the container? You never answered me. Zero stared at him expectantly, as did most of the others in the room.
Chief Alice pleaded after he didnt answer.
I-It was supposed to be a virus that neutralized the Infection, he admitted. I didnt want to tell you because I was afraid you would find someone else to sell it to.
That backfired! Zero laughed.
Hawke looked over at the Chief. Why didnt you tell anyone about this?
He just looked away.
Hed have to explain how h
Zero Blood Ch.1Moonlight bathed Zeros face. A small window was laid open, allowing the silvery light to illuminate Zeros still body and cause his skin to appear ghostly pale. His eyes flickered as he once again regained consciousness. He tried again to move his arms or legs and, after receiving no response, closed his eyes again. A faint smell assaulted him. Hunger surged through him. He groaned loudly.Zero Blood Ch.15 years ago in Fantasy More Like This
He might have realized he could now use his voice had the Hunger allowed him to think. In frustration, he turned his head (something hed found himself able to do the last time he woke) away from the light, the window, and its smell to look at the door, shut tight as if issuing a challenge to the immobile Zero.
His friends had left through that very door before hed become Zero. Most of the memories before that was a haze. Hed even lost his name (Zero popped up to fill its place early on). He remembered the last thing that happened before he woke up as Zero was his two frie
Zero Blood Ch. 4White light surrounded Zero, blinding him. As his sight returned, he realized he was standing in a white room empty save for four smooth chairs sitting in a circle facing each other, three of which were occupied. The three inhabitants of the room turned to face him. One stood up and strode across the room.Zero Blood Ch. 45 years ago in Fantasy More Like This
Hello, old friend. Its about time you returned, he said cheerfully, smiling broadly.
The man was dressed in a white coat. His pure white hair was wild and unruly. His skin was abnormally pale. His face had no marks of age. His eyes were crimson spheres surrounded by black.
Do I know you? Zero asked.
Dont kid! the man laughed and ushered him to the final chair before sitting in his own. Welcome back, Zero.
Zero looked at the other two. One had rimless rectangular glasses that reflected the light to hide his eyes. A lab coat covered his body, a name tag with glare obscuring all information hung from his coat pocket
Zero Blood Ch. 11Gabriel grabbed the man in front of him and flung him away in time before the Zombie reaching out for him, its open mouth seeking him out hungrily. A quick burst from his rifle stopped the creature from returning to hunt the unfortunate man. He watched the thing fall before turning back to the horde.Zero Blood Ch. 115 years ago in Fantasy More Like This
Originally they had been set on assaulting the doors, some even climbing the walls around it. Awhile ago, most had turned around and headed backwards. Now, after the one Zombie had broken from the horde to try to grab the man whod gathered enough courage to approach them, Gabriel could see where they were headed.
A pale man with white hair stood opposite of Jack, an Undead hed been tracking since the massacre at D.C. Now a wall of Zombies separated him from these two monsters hed been tracking for awhile.
Enjoy your time while it lasts, Gabriel muttered before firing into a nearby Zombie unlucky enough to turn around at the sound of hi
Zero Blood Ch 14Zero stood behind the Chief as he told the Citadel about the attack yesterday, silently regretting not eating more of what he believed to be beans. He shifted uncomfortably as the speech drew closer towards his change. Finally the time came.Zero Blood Ch 144 years ago in Fantasy More Like This
The only reason we were able to repel this attack, Gabriel announced, was because we had an Undead of our own.
The expected gasps and whispers ran out throughout the crowd. Zero sighed, part of his anxiety leaving as the speech reached this point.
The Undead in question is different than the others. He-
Oh, really? one person challenged Gabriel. How do you know this? What if hes exactly like the others? He could just be trying to trick us.
Others muttered in agreement.
People, please! Gabriel tried to regain control from behind his stand. I-
Zero had had enough. He moved next to Gabriel and signaled for him to hand over the mic. Gabriel nodded, pas
Zero Blood Ch 18Jack ran as fast as he could, not daring to use his power. If the sword he was carrying really took so much out of him, he couldnt afford it. His thoughts raced about what he might encounter when he finally arrived. The thoughts grew darker the further he went. Finally he decided to push all thoughts from his head.Zero Blood Ch 184 years ago in Fantasy More Like This
Memories took their place.
Jack sat against the wall of his room. The building had been constructed by Terra a long time ago to house all the Undead. She had continued to change it and shift it to fit the needs of the current inhabitants.
Anxiety tore a hole in the pit of his stomach. Today, he was to be selected by one of the Pures to serve them directly. Unlike most others, he was to become the head of their guards due to his powers. Jack knew that he would likely be with whoever it was for as long as he lived.
The door opened. Father and Lord Zero stood in the doorway.
Hello, Jack, Zero smiled as he spoke. Its been awhile.
The anxiety s
Zero Blood Ch. 13Alex tried to move his arm and fingers. They still didnt move as fast as hed liked. Ever since theyd been reattached, Alex had been struggling to make them move like they used to. Marcus had done a great job stitching them back together though, making it easier than normal, or so he was told. This was his first time losing a body part.Zero Blood Ch. 135 years ago in Fantasy More Like This
Victor, a skinny Frankenstein, hovered over Grants still body. Not even Marcus, one of Victors students, dared to approach him. He had been hard at work with Grant and Alex had to admit that despite still not moving, Grant looked a hell of a lot better.
Hello Alex! Ana almost made him fall out of the bed.
Dammit! Alex laughed. Dont do that!
Sorry, she apologized, still smiling. You feel any better?
Alex opened and closed his fist. He closed his eyes.
Sort of. Still have to rest according to the doctors.
Victor looked at you then?
Zero Blood Ch 12Zero opened his eyes, allowing the white light to enter in.Zero Blood Ch 125 years ago in Fantasy More Like This
Well, crap, he sighed, not at all surprised.
What a greeting! Mr. White laughed, clapping his hands together.
Zero noticed something different about every single one of the White Rooms occupants.
Did you all get into a fight or something?
Mr. White had a cloth eye patch over his right eye. Researchers glasses were cracked and his lab coat was ripped up. The silhouette was missing an arm.
Mr. White laughed. No, you did this! You tore through here, reaching for that power and ripped us up in the process!
You were consumed with your power, Researcher grunted, glaring over at the silhouette. You just wanted that ability that he reached out to give you. This wouldnt have happened if someone hadnt have messed with your mind.
I was wrong, the silhouette seemed to echo. He doesnt need as much
Zero Blood Ch. 9Ana stood in the doorway, smiling. Marcus had left her to finish off whoever came by later. She hadnt actually expected anyone to and was pleased to see that she had been wrong. She didnt feel like killing them, only frightening them. They would go back, shaken, to a destroyed Citadel. Anas smile widened at this thought.Zero Blood Ch. 95 years ago in Fantasy More Like This
Step aside, Undead, the woman warned. She stood her ground but it was obvious that she was nervous. If the smell of the sewer wasnt blocking her sense of smell, Ana would have had the pleasure of enjoy the smell of terror this human unknowingly released.
The man stood silently behind the woman, his face concealed by a gas mask. He wore a pure black trench coat that Ana was almost certain shed heard mentioned before. A solid black katana sat at his waist. She didnt know what to make of him.
And if I dont? she taunted.
Ana, please, someone pleaded.
Ana searched for the owner of the voice only t
Zero Blood Ch. 8Zero leaned against the wall of Gabriels hut, listening to the sounds of Vales fingers tapping against the keyboard. Zero had been ordered to wait here for a new mission. Gabriel had made sure to stress the fact that he should be on time. Apparently, he hadnt stressed that fact to every member of the team, as only Gabriel, Vale, and Zero were on time.Zero Blood Ch. 85 years ago in Fantasy More Like This
Gabriel leaned back in a chair by the table, whistling a cheerful tune. Vale was crouched behind a computer, looking up occasionally at a clock on the wall. Zero tapped his foot in rhythm with the ticking.
Finally, Hawke showed up. Zero realized that he was even less of a morning person than Zero and had probably woken up later than he had. Hawke yawned loudly before collapsing into another chair. Less than three minutes later, Alice walked in as well. She looked well rested and had obviously been up before Hawke.
You finish your errands? Vale asked, not looking up from his screen.
Alice smiled, Yep. Th
Zero Blood Ch. 7Ana rushed to catch up with Marcus after the meeting ended. They had been assigned to work together, but he had left without her. He wasnt moving particularly fast, so it was easy to over take him.Zero Blood Ch. 75 years ago in Fantasy More Like This
Marcus, wait, she commanded. I need to have a word with you.
My! You recover so quickly from your traumatic encounter! Marcus exclaimed.
Cut the crap, Ana sighed. I want to know what you were talking about back there.
Me? I was talking about saving your life. Surely that-
Ana grabbed him. My airway was blocked, not my ears. You said Hes not the same guy! when talking about Zero. Who was the Zero that got the Twins to react like that?
Marcus sighed, his youthful, playful demeanor fading. I wasnt actually around when the other Zero did what he did so I cant tell you firsthand what happened. I heard it from Grant back when I was his student and he heard the tale from his
Zero Blood Ch. 2It all started on the 7th of July. Thats the day we lost contact with Ground Zero: Las Vegas. The Infection hit the city. Hard. The army mobilized to quarantine the site after hearing the last call sent out. When they arrived, there were only the dead left. Three days later, we figured out what had happened.Zero Blood Ch. 25 years ago in Fantasy More Like This
The best scientists around gathered to find out what makes the dead so restless. What they found was the Infection. It starts out as an airborne strain that first kills off everyone who doesnt have some certain antibody. Then the airborne strain attaches to the brain and starts to control the nervous system, using the nerves like strings on a puppet. The nervous system also starts producing another strain of the virus: a contact strain. No ones immune to this one. You may not turn from one bite, but a second or third will be fatal.
So its a parasitic virus that uses a host to infect more people, Zero concluded.
You wish, H
Zero Blood Ch. 3Ana walked through store after store, staring at clothes. Before now, shed always avoided doing something like this. It made her feel more like a monster. After receiving a name, though, it felt natural.Zero Blood Ch. 35 years ago in Fantasy More Like This
She went through the racks, finding what she wanted. She looked around for the room she needed. It wasnt hard to find. She entered the smaller room and stared at the door.
The fitting room mirror showed her the remains of the clothes she once wore. Torn by the wear of her high speed movements and catching onto debris that littered the streets, they no longer server her like they used to. Before she clung to them for the sake of retaining what she once was. But Ana had taught her something. She wasnt whoever she was in the past. She was Ana now. She was a new person. She began going through the mountain of clothes shed picked up, trying to find the right outfit. A sense of joy sprang through her as she watched herself change into different people. Eac
Zero Blood Ch 15So where are these cameras you set up, Chaos? Alucard asked quietly.Zero Blood Ch 154 years ago in Fantasy More Like This
Chaos pointed at the vents containing the cameras. Eon nodded and waved his hand in their direction. The cameras and the vents containing them aged to dust. Alucard laughed.
Hed been surprised to see Terra had changed not only the outside of this building, but also its inside. It was harder to navigate now, but he still found the room with ease. The only problem was getting around Tartarus, and Eon had managed to trick him into allowing Alucard to pass. The cameras werent even on his list of concerns since theyd been set up just to allow him entrance.
The room was long and dark; only two lights illuminated it, though to Alucard, it was as if it was lit with fluorescent bulbs. Near the other end, a solitary figure sat upon a throne.
Who dares to enter my room unannounced? the figure asked.
One who held greater rank than you and who is your elder, Alucard smiled.
Zero Blood Ch. 10The white light stopped bleeding through his closed eyelids, so Zero opened them.Zero Blood Ch. 105 years ago in Fantasy More Like This
No, no, no, no, no! Not here!
The white room unfolded in front of him. A crack obscured his vision but he was still able to make out the four chairs and the three occupants. They rushed to meet him, crouching down to help him up.
Are you ready to listen now? Researcher asked.
Am I going to trapped here for all eternity? Zero asked, dreading the answer.
Only if you lose, Mr. White laughed, letting him go in his chair.
Let go of your human side, the silhouette urged him. Give into your Hunger.
I dont want to be a Zombie, Zero said wearily.
The three laughed.
A Zombie?! You think youre Infected? Mr. White laughed even harder. Boy, you couldnt be Infected if you were bitten by all those Zombies. You really have forgotten, havent you?
You need to remember your past, Re
Zero Blood Ch. 6Zero retreated from the shack, trying desperately to keep from shaking. Hed killed before (he was a mercenary before all this) but never his friends. He lowered his head to think. Seppuku had one drawback as a form of suicide in Zeros eyes for one reason: you dont know whether it was a suicide or a murder. Zeros mind knew Will had surrendered his life and reasoned it to be suicide, but his body felt the impact even after the blow had complete, screaming murder.Zero Blood Ch. 65 years ago in Fantasy More Like This
Zero stumbled forward, raising his head to look in front of him. Hawke leaned against a wall in the center of his vision. The youth Zero had once seen was replaced with the expression an old man might have when reminiscing about his younger days. A lit cigarette danced in his hand.
Hawke noticed Zeros gaze and brought the cigarette up to his mouth before slowly moving to meet him.
You ok? he asked the one question that was both obvious and overused, but Zero later reasoned he would have
