Here to announce the launch of Depthcore version 5 and the Freestyle pack, a piece of mine using an old render of my good friend *rucish.

The first in the nation series, I hope you enjoy them all as they come. For now go check out Freestyle, I think it's the bomb and so should you.

The first piece of mine from the 14th Depthcore pack, something a bit different and hopefully representative of the feeling of the whole pack. Go check out the 120+ artwork, motion and music submissions... I think it's something a bit special, don't you?

The first of my releases for Depthcore pack 15 [Habitat] , go take a look at [link] (although there seem to be a couple of problems with the site at the moment - maybe it's having trouble coping with the 180+ submissions!).

This started off as an experiment with some new Photoshop techniques, just playing about with a photo of a car wing mirror, and went on to produce this and Chrysalis [coming soon]. I intend to write a tutorial about photoshop abstracting soon and its advantages (and disadvantages) compared to 3D abstract. In the meantime I'll have a bit of a rant in my journal, and sort out an update for my site... or something.

Possibly my least favourite from the latest Depthcore pack, possibly because I feel it lacks depth... and it's not shiny enough ;} Oddly enough it was the one that brought my pc closer to the brink of destruction that any of the others.... I actually cropped it down quite a lot at the end and it had a vast number of layers. Anyway go visit depthcore, there's a lot of fantastic stuff there, a lot of which won't appear on here.

A collaboration with , he provided this render: [link] and although I thought it would be easy to add a bit of fancy lighting and typo and produce an accomplished picture, I decided to try some new techniques out in Photoshop and transform it into something different. I had trouble deciding whether to have them shooting up out of the water or diving into it, but I think this worked best in the end. A tutorial for this will appear at some point.

and of course, thanks again to rucish for the render.

This is a collaboration with the supremely talented ~NullVoiD who sent me a render a while ago and gave me permission to do whatever I wanted. It's also a sorry for being so lame recently (as well as a merry Christmas!). My pc is still broken, but I managed to have enough spare time at work to make this over the last couple of days. Although the pc here is faster, I had to make do with version 7, none of my custom plugins, brushes, shapes, stock photos etc. which was a bit odd. So it's a sort of back to basics piece, but I enjoyed making it and hope you enjoy looking at it. Go check out null's gallery if you haven't already seen it and I hope to see you in the new year.

Somtimes it's so nice to sit down with Photoshop and just play. I started off with the great render I got from ~ NullVoiD which I used to make Alien and went a bit mad for a bit. Although it was just an experiment in fucked-up-ness I kind of enjoyed it enough to try the style again. However that will have to wait a while, I'll see you guys in the new year :}

The text in the picture made perfect sense at the time by the way... now I can't remember why though.

Another from the 'nation' series, this was an excuse to mix some abstract mess with nice clean 'vector' stuff. I do like experimenting, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't... I quite like this one :{}

On another note my pc is half-broken again, which is annoying as I have lots of pictures I want to make at the moment. I'm sure things will sort themselves out.... in time.

Another Photoshop mess about to see what shapes I can make out of incredibly boring objects (in this case a software box). I was waiting around at work for someone and was feeling guilty that I hadn't submitted much recently, although I expected the new DC pack to be out by now... It's just around the corner, really it is ;) Ooh and apparently a graphic I did for my work appeared on TV last night, woop!

*Edit* Just been cheeky and replaced the image with a much darker one, maybe a bit more interesting.
