The Luminarium is proud to present our 20th exhibit Adventure! It is quite a milestone for us and we are glad to share with you what is our biggest, and quite possibly best, release yet. Adventure explores that inner curiosity that drives so much of humanities achievements. That desire to know what is over the horizon, what is beyond the next turn. The Luminarium has been quite an adventure for many of us over the course of our 20 releases and long may it continue into the future. Adventure holds over 50 pieces of artwork and music, with pieces from old hands like Glenn Clovis, Chris Cold and Alex Fralin, some outstanding work from Kuldar Leement as well as some notable debut's from Erik Schumacher, Anna Hollinrake, Matthias Utomo, Jakob Hansson and Scott Steadman. In the last weeks I'm getting the impression that there are many people out there that can easily be compared to fast food customers...
Finding many nice pictures in a few seconds, FAVING IT ALL, so that one can look it up later, when one has the time... (What maybe will never happen) YES, I would call it "fast food art". It's the same issue like in music. People having thousands of music files on their gear, listening to just what their mood fits best at that time, spending no time to think or even really LISTEN to the music. And that's the point I am trying to make here;
We should not consume art like it was fast food or any MP3-file on our iphone. It's really not about having lots of favourites. What counts must be quality, not quantity. And I mean, is there any artist out there that does NOT feel sad if his or her art is faved for about a hundred times but having just a few people who leave at least a comment like "I like it!" ?

Due to the decreasing contestans and move/work we cannot continue with the contests for now. I'm truly sorry to tell you this but it's the harsh reality of it. We we're looking into getting sponsors to give away cash + prizes but we need a stronger contestant ratio before we can do it. Also we're moving soon so things around that needs attention. Hopefully we'll be back sooner than later and bringing great prizes and contest for DeviantART.
Thanks again all of you who participated and took part of these months we started with it, see you again soon!

In January of 2012, the community was challenged by `thorns to do something about their complaints on dA. Thus was born this very group! But before the group, it was just a fledgling idea on `Kneeling-Glory's account that began with a DD Suggestion Contest. The results of that contest were overwhelming. And so, under the prodding of quite a few Community Volunteers, we're going to do it again!UPDATE: Less than 1 week in and we've already got 100 suggested DDs and 2 accepted suggestions!!

I have just recently received the opportunity to become the "Science Fiction and Space Art" Community Volunteer Gallery Moderator here on deviantART.
I am looking for "Science Fiction and Space Art" deviations to feature as Daily Deviations, and you can help.
If you know of any submissions that you think should gain more exposure and be Featured as a Daily Deviation,
and they are "Science Fiction and/or Space Art"related, send me a DD Suggestion via note.
I have info on my front page regarding how to suggest a DD if you have any questions.
I would prefer suggestions for artists that have less exposure and little to no previous DD's,
