[last few frames, and about 10 frames hold at the end, got cut off for some reason, and I have no idea why, but it sucks. the same thing happened on youtube and I hate it]
[HAHAHA you can see the last few frames on my uni blog here: [link] not that they are very awesome, though. but they are where they should be at least.]
That's my final assignment for this year, I did the character design, all planning and animation, to the dialogue provided by my tutor. Apparently, it's from The Shining. He didn't tell me until I finished this and I didn't want to know earlier, either, and I have never seen the film (I feel like that's quite an embarassing fact, though) so I wasn't influenced by it in any way, so whatever you see here is entirely my fault.
I found this scene later on youtube, though, and I feel like if I'm ever going to watch this film, it will lose whole seriousness when this scene arrives.
Probably not, though. I'm sure I would be scared to death. And then I would feel like my own character gets killed.
No way. I'm not going to watch this film, oh no.
You can watch it bigger on my youtube channel [link]
For my camera&lighting final we had to come up with a mock render of a potential game idea. I can't really portray much of anything related to Cain yet so this ended up looking more Silent Hillish than anything
Yes that be Cain's zweihander Calamity at the end, it didn't pop out as much as I had hoped, but I wasn't spending another few hours re-rendering it seeing that I barely finished rendering it all at the end of class >.>
(optimistic edit) Thank you, YouTube, for being here: [link] YOU HAVE TO CLICK IT (end of edit.)
(desperate edit) WHYY IS IT OUT OF SYNCH?! (end of edit.)
He is reading "The Colour of Magic" by Terry Pratchett. I wonder what Rincewind did.
Okay, you see, I wanted to animate lip sync for this guy: [link] , because I loved the idea of him having Jeremy Irons' voice (thank you so much, L16 ); and when I was looking for some clips I could use, I came across the scene from "The Colour of Magic", where Irons played Vetinari... I find this idea quite amusing, though I sense it might not be THAT funny for others.
Aaand it isn't really... entirely polished, but I won't be able to finish it anytime soon anyway, sigh.
Voice: Jeremy Irons, "The Colour of Magic" (c) Terry Pratchett, I think.
Some things really aren't done as they should be done, but I have next assignment now and can't work on this one at the moment.
Assignment- we were supposed to animate a character, basing it on the observation and sketches from life. We were given three themes, from which I chose 'fast food'.
This is, like, an artistic interpretation. I had some sketches of people eating burgers and chips, and really couldn't decide, guys.
--- okay, I looked at the video after uploading and here goes an EDIT. since DA makes all videos smaller to fit the DA's video player thingy, you might not notice that what he is eating, is actually chips. Yes. My masterpiece is officially ruined.
I started this animation back in mid January. This video short is a tribute to an amazing unofficial contest we have over at He-man.org called the Fan Staction Contest held annually by Thomas Tolman & it brings about the evolution of some of the greatest character concepts ever. The Winner of the contest is transformed into a 6 + statue by Mr. Tolman. Id like to clarify that all of these are not my original characters, each of them is created by fans at the .org. But I have done the entire Animation completely on my own with a few assists from Patreek Ireland & Andrew Cramer. This Animation has been done with Toon Boom Studio 4.5 & ofcourse Adobe Photoshop CS2 & complied together with Adobe Premiere Pro.
Also I in order to avoid any copyright issues this I came up with a totally different concept that would separate these characters from the MOTU Universe just for this particular intro & decided to name is Chronicles of the Forgotten Realm.
I would like to thank every He-man.org member for their support & permission to allow me to use their characters.
Last but not the least Id like to thank Mark Palenik for creating the original music for this 1:30 min animation with his song Lost. Thanks Mark!
Also I forgot to credit for his character Inkshot. Sorry bout that.
Following are the Lyrics to the song:
Lost, I was blinded in the middle of the night. Which way is darkness and which way is light?
Down to demons shall we bow? Does it even matter now as I fight the lies in truths that fall before me? Like a seed dropped in the sand as I fight His rightous hand. If it isn't arrogance, then what could it be?
My cries, so hated in your eyes, like they're just lies.
Lost, I was blinded in the middle of the night. Before me was the darkness, behind me was the light.
So without further adue, Heres Chronicles of the Forgotten Realm
NOTE - the ipod version created by the dA encoder is way out of sync. download a high quality ipod/iphone version here --> [link]
Parks on Fire is an exploration of the complex, interpenetrated, and reflective relationships of structure, form, and motion that both bind and conflict the natural and manmade worlds. The experience is a visual and aural expedition through a series of uniquely explicated environments. Stunning synthetic worlds of micro precision evolve and meld in to landscapes of natural forms evoking the achingly unknowable sublime that is here captured, redefined and expressed via intensive digital reprocessing. Sound and image drive each other to create the uncanny sense that both are emerging from the same dammed-but-divine ethereal engine. The lush cinematic soundtrack is by Trifonic, and is available on their debut release Emergence.
I made this animation for a school project. We had to do something with a character and an object. This is all frame for frame work. It's about 1500 frames. The coloring took me a very long time. But I did enjoy doing this. I think my animation skills did get better by making this.
Whaaaat! A Daily Deviation! For one of my fist animations! Whoopie! That´s Great! Thanks krazykel for suggesting it and feawen for featuring it!
holy crap it actually uploaded this time! awesome.
so here it is finally...just a short i started on over the summer. it's actually the first movie i've done completely on paper...my animation is better when i work on paper instead of digital...but then of course i have to scan the drawings and i get the gross toon boom look..but it's ok. I worked with it and did my best to make the BGs interesting...my dear old dad did the voice..and i have permission to use the music.
