Heaven Amid HellSince the start of time, people have frequently questioned why there is so much misery in the world, why God permits so much bad to happen. "If God loves us so much," they say, "He would never have allowed this to happen in the first place." Many people become angry and resentful toward God because of this notion; they allow their bitterness to fester like an infection that settles in an untreated wound.Heaven Amid Hell5 years ago in Emotional More Like This
It is true that God does have the power to prevent misfortune, yet He sees the big picture, and knows so much more than we do. He is wise enough to understand that to forestall adversity at every turn would be unwise.
If God stopped every bad thing from ever happening to us, then what is life all about? If life was always peaches and cream, how can we truly learn and grow?
True happiness does not stem from a world where everything is perfect and life has no problems. Rather, the road to true happiness is long and often rough, and strewn with seeds of suffering. Yet along with the storm

"I am grateful for what You give me, Jesus," Jacob said as he stared at the ground.
Jesus smiled at him.
"I may not be able to live in a beautiful mansion, or a beach house where I can see the sunsets. But at least I have shelter. At least I have these people and these things that You have given me, that You have placed in my life. I am blessed in so many ways." Jacob smiled.

Jesus smiled at the small daisy in His hands and said, "Very few pick them up, and embrace them. Others step all over them. Others simply ignore them."
Jacob blinked several times as he stared at the all the flowers below him. Jesus put His hand on Jacob's shoulder. Now he knew. Whenever he saw a blessing sent from God, he would be one of those few who would pick them up.

One morn as under a great tree I lay,
Misery held me in its pain-filled sway.
I dreamt of a life where I wasn't numb,
Sleepwalking my way toward the dusk to come.
I felt sweat drops that I thought were rain,
And opening my eyes, saw a man hung in pain.
His feet were crossed and his arms stretched wide;
I could see no life in this man. Had he died?
Arose a voice from the blood soaked tree,
"I died for you so that you are free."
I sat there stunned in my ignorant sleep,
My curiosity teased by a tree that speaks.
I lingered in repose, knowing not what was said;
Clinging to the echoing voice in my head-
"I did this for you."
With eyes of blue-
His head was pierced with thorns claw-like,
And each hand was nailed by a rusty spike.
He calls to me by my name,
I couldn't help it but show my shame.
Words arose from his lips,
As his blood still drips.
His voice so dear,
So pure, so clear;
Spoken once more-
His voice was dear as it said to
