So here it is finally, my Battlefleet Gothic painting done as a birthday present for my brother, Took a long time to get everything how I wanted it but there is always room for improvement but I wont be working on this one any more.

Simple scene depicting a fight against the Imperial fleet and the forces of Chaos, it shows a light frigate class ship on a collision course with the Imperial fleets capitol ship and firing of a load of missiles as it goes, also it under heavy fire from light weapons. The capitol ship can also be seen firing its huge side mounted cannon arrays at something, but what? a ship that size firing that many shots must be very keen of destroying what ever it is, and that frigate is damn keen on keeping the ship from firing. I will leave that to your imagination. Background shows a few skirmishes and a broadside going on..... everyone loves a bit of broadside action.

Enjoy and Happy Birthday Bro this ones for you.

This is the first installment for my little project about a giant civil war, it was mentioned a while back with the submission of the emblem for Paragon.
This image shows a large Paragon fleet of dreadnoughts and support craft moving towards the, under construction, super dock, an artificial planet about 1/4 the size of earth built to be used as a forward base during the war to supply, build and research.
The Paragon flag ship the Agamemnon can be seen under one of the docking arms over the planet, its over a hundred miles long and acts as a command ship, repair and supply ship and a carrier as well as a pretty effect battleship.

I decided to give this image a more real feel to it, a gritty look with low saturation and bright surfaces watching battlestar galactica helped with this style.

trying to get a feel of distance was hard, it always is in space images as there is no distance haze, but I used a similar haze technique to get it working in this image, I think it payed off.

Time: approx 10 hours
Resolution: 4000x3700
DPI: 300

Here is the final image from the submissions to the Luminarium, its linked to my last image Shield World Construction, this image shows the interior of the dyson sphere structure looking up at the sun.... or down depends where you are inside. the view is from about 1 mile off the surface just above the clouds and looking up at the huge sentinel towers that house the massive armada of the forerunners, here you can see some of the huge ships disembarking from the towers as well as a horde of smaller sentinels which anyone who has read the Halo novel Ghosts of Onyx should recognize.

Its a little confusing to knwo whats going on but the previous image of the outside view works perfectly to give the viewer a much better understanding of this image, that idea for the other image and linking them so you the viewers could undertand it better came from one of my house mates Brett, a great idea and one I think works perfectly when both images are viewed side by side.

A paid commission where I was asked to paint a battle scene for a browser based game called Galactic Apocalypse which despite still in the alpha stages is looking rather promising.

The image is to be used on the entrance screen to the forums so it will be the first thing you see when you enter the forums.
As of yet the game isn't finished and neither are the forums or website but once they become active I will add the link here.

All freehand using a wacom intuos3 A5 wide.
Time: approx 8 hours

enjoy

Here is the second submission from the new Luminarium pack this image is part of a 3-4 part project based on the forerunners from the Halo games, this was inspired mostly from the new game Halowars which is awesome. It shows a dyson sphere type construct which is earthlike on the outside but very hostile as almost all the surface is ice, however inside is a lush utopia with its own artificial sun.
To the left you can even see one of the moons being mined for resources to build the huge thing, me thinks they will be needing some more moon.

Enjoy

An image done as part of a series of images for a game trailer, about 13 in total, this is a scene depicting world burnt by war and a derelict ship floating in a belt of debris.
This image was put in my portfolio and thought I might upload it here also.

This is the end result of several weeks of work, mainly due to lack of computer time, it is a corner stone in my art as it is my first piece which isnt just a planet with stars and a nebula, and its hand painted using a wacom except for the planet surfaces and the sun which are done using the usual texture work and filters.
My main inspiration for this image was Gary Tonge who is an amazing freehand digital painter.

I will also be making some more speed paintings and quick images showing different parts of the city from different perspectives.

So now this images is done I will start to do more matte paintings and freehand images like this one but I wont be abandoning my space scenes all together I will make some more soon.

(UPDATE: adjusted some areas and added some more lighting for the blue areas as well as a fierce storm system around one of the shards.)

This piece is basically a different take on an older image of mine called Last Stand, a collaboration image I did with :iconmcchaz: . I was approached by the art director of Night Shade Books who wanted an image similar to Last Stand to put in there new book which is an Anthology showcasing the best Sci-Fi and Fantasy art of the year.

So this is what I got, it may undergo some minor changes yet but I like it so far so I have submitted for all to see.

Enjoy

This was a commission I was asked to do for a new Online MMO called Midado-Online, The site is [link]

The requested concept was the earth in a state of emergency, the surface on one side is always facing the sun as its rotation has stopped and it gets very got. The atmosphere is escaping at the poles causing aurora and other nasty things to happen, also the moon exploded.

Under no cercumstances should this image be used for manipulation.

Here is another map concept for the game pitch, the idea behind it was a planet within a rather dusty nebula so as you fly around you will constantly be flying through different densities of dust clouds, would make for some interesting dog fights.
