You guys. Guys. Guys. US peeps. Um. (RL stuff)I... follow a lot of US-based political blogs. And have friends out there, and ... find what is currently going absolutely f*cking terrifying and enraging on a visceral bloodboiling level. But, you know. That's just me, out in some secular socialist Old World country, quaffing down my cheap birth control pills and, outrageously, not crippled by hospital bills after my freelance boyfriend's domestic accident of two years ago because of all that damned taxpayer money going into a national health insurance. You guys. Guys. Guys. US peeps. Um. (RL stuff)3 years ago in Personal More Like This
But that, of course, is anecdata and nothing to go forming political opinions on. (Also I have a uterus, and what with all those craaaayzee lady hormones swishing around my weak little brainpan, I'll've completely changed my mind in a week don't mind me!)
Just like to point out, though.
I seem to have a... lot of followers. That's super cool and all. I'm guessing most of you are here for the GND. That's really great and I am so chuffed you are enjoying

FFM: Days 1+2Well friends, week one of FFM is over, and I'd like to present to you, my favourites so far. Here's the first one, days 1 & 2.FFM: Days 1+21 year ago in Literature Features More Like This

Where am I? and New Giveaway!PERSONAL SECTIONWhere am I? and New Giveaway!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
So first lets start off with why I haven't up loaded new ponies in 2 weeks.
I have been working on a very special commission for a friend. I know I should be working on as many ponies as I can for this time of year, but this is for the friend that got me into making ponies. I should have a picture of this girl tomorrow, I still have shoes and a hat to make. I will have a second one for ebay shortly after I make a Button's Mom for ebay.
Now I promised a giveaway and that is what I will do. ^W^
Date: Nov. 15-23
The winner will be picked at random on the 23 about 8:30pm central time.
I will be giving away one filly or colt. This can be any official pony. (Ex. Button Mash, Sweetie Bell, etc.) The filly or colt can also be an adult pony, just as a filly. (Ex. Twilight, Derpy, Trixie, Dr. Whooves, etc.)
I can also do Snowdrop or Button's Mom as a filly.
Example of my style of Fillies and Colts: http://kiashone.deviantart.com/gal
When you buy from..."When you buy from an independent artist you are buying more than just a painting or a novel or a song. You are buying hundreds of hours of experimentation and thousands of failures. You are buying days, weeks, months, years of frustration and moments of pure joy. You are buying nights of worry about paying the rent, having enough money to eat, having enough money to feed the children, the birds, …the dog. You aren't just buying a thing - you are buying a piece of heart, part of a soul, a private moment in someone's life. Most importantly, you are buying that artist more time to do something they are truly passionate about; something that makes all of the above worth the fear and doubt; something that puts the life into living." - Rebekah Joy PlettWhen you buy from...2 years ago in Personal More Like This

Well, this is my first time doing a giveaway, and after looking at all the others (on how they do it, etc.) I have finally got the guts to try it out. I will also have this on my facebook page.
1. Watch me!
2. Do a journal entry!
3. Link it here in the comments!

Thank You Everyone!I have just returned home, having celebrated my birthday with my family. We owe them a huge debt, as they are the people who served as a testing group for my humor over the years. I return to DeviantArt to witness at least 23 pages of birthday wishes from you fine folks, in addition to a wealth of birthday notes. I feel inadequate to reply to each message as I try to get the next review done.
This has been a fine week even before my birthday. Last night, I completed my portfolio review, which removes a heavy stress from my schedule. I want to accomplish as much as possible this holiday season to put out review videos and fulfill overdue obligations to the brony community.
So thank you, everyone, for the birthday wishes. I am sorry I cannot reply to each message individually. I want to show my thanks by putting for the best-quality content possible!

Let's Talk Writing is my news article featuring five different writers that I've discovered here on deviantArt. It will be published every Friday. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to note me. I will take them into consideration (which means I'll most likely accept them.) Now, let's talk writing!
Writer #1: :icontwilightpoetess: betwixtthepages
What inspired you to start writing?
A friend of mine did, actually. We were in sixth grade, and class was just about to start. She came hurrying over with a piece of paper and said, "I started this but I can't finish it. YOU take it." And then she thrust it in my face and hurried to her seat.
I spent the rest of that class finishing the poem... And then carried a notebook and pencil with me EVERYWHERE after that. My love affair with words had officially begun.
Plush kits are a go!edit: link to the original poll http://magnastorm.deviantart.com/journal/poll/4064436/ or here's a quick rundown;Plush kits are a go!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
These kits will include everything you need to make one of the following:
Chibi Wolpertinger , chibi Jackalope or a chibi Gemstone Dragon
The kits will include instructions, (cut?) fabric pieces, and in the case of Wolpertingers and Jackalopes a plastic nose or an acrylic gem for the Gemstone Dragons.
Considering the super positive response plush kits will happen!
These will probably not be available until January or so, unless I suddenly find myself with lots of free time to create the instructions after I move in about a week and a half. These would be available in limited numbers, just so I don't spend entire weeks cutting out pieces instead of working on commissions ahah. I'm thinking about limiting them to a certain number per two w

Critique is a DialogueCommunication is a collaborative effort.Critique is a Dialogue2 years ago in Literature Features More Like This
Students and teachers, doctors and patients, the UN and member states—no matter how different the backgrounds are, no matter the gap in experience or who's leading the conversation, it's important for communication to succeed. And the only way to do that is by making sure there's always room for a dialogue.
Dialogue: two sides having a conversation together.
Based on the literature community chat we had not too long ago, critique seems to be desirable. This blog is a response to the fact that a number of people mentioned dissatisfaction with a) how much critique they're getting, and/or b) responses to critiques they're providing.
This is about critiquing people you don't know, and who didn't request a Serious Business Full-Length Critique.

Holiday Horrors--A ContestThe holidays are creeping up on us with surprising speed, and you all know what THAT means!Holiday Horrors--A Contest1 year ago in Personal More Like This

Okay, so maybe I made the last one up, but it brings us to the point of this contest!
tales of the frightening, the gruesome, and the not-so-wanted gifts!
For the point of this contest, I will NOT be counting Halloween as a holiday (because that would be too easy, and you guys need to take a path less traveled by this time). Holidays you MIGHT consider when writing your piece:
--Run Up the Flagpole and See if Anyone Salutes Day
--Do a Grouch a Favor Day
--Waffle Iron Day
--Virus Appreciation Day
….OBVIOUSLY, I'm being very broad in the definition of “holiday.” If you find a unique (or funny?, or ironic?) holiday you think you can make work for th

I am glad to hear that one of the commissions will be finished. I look forward to seeing everyone get theirs. I hope you are all treated well and wish the best to all involved in the situation. Again, I wrote this journal because my conscience would not let me continue to ignore this issue. It looks like it is on the right track now. Thank you, :iconsailorminimuffin:, for doing the right thing.
It seems that after continual messaging, she managed to put a WIP picture, the first after eight months. We'll see if she actually delivers. Still be cautious.
Before I say anything, let me say this. I absolutely hate confrontation, and I always wish and hope for the best in people. This journal is not meant for anything but a warning and I encourage that after reading this, please dear watchers, do not go and use this as a gossip thread or a place to say mean things. I am only doing this to pass on information, and I hate that it ha

Ghouls and Ghasts and ne'er do wells, welcome once again to the LaBORatory for our annual celebration of stories in the season of all things spooky.
This year, we return to the abandoned house at the end of the block, with the upstairs window from which something always seems to wave at passersby. We drive along the lonely stretch of road at midnight, eyes unblinking, hoping to catch a glimpse of the girl who hitches a ride, only to vanish from the passenger seat when we pass the old cemetery. We point trembling fingers over the rail at the spectral ship that has spelled the doom of generations of captains and crew. We roll the ball into the old, dark nursery, and wait to see if it will roll back out again.
This year, we are telling ghost stories. Have a seat by the fire, won't you?

What inspired you to start writing?
A lot of things, really - mostly that urge to express myself in a way that others could understand and sympathize with.
How much do you feel you've improved in the last few years?
God, that question. I can't even begin to explain how much I've improved. I came from the depths of Mary Sue OC Naruto and Hetalia fan fiction and moved on to original fiction. It's really amazing, now that I think about it.
Why do you post your writing to deviantArt?

More than twenty lovely people took the time to explore alternate possibilities within worlds they themselves created, instead of what's more usual: alternate history or, what I really had in mind with this idea, fanfiction. (Thank you, fanfiction writers, for introducing the term in the context of writing to me. Without you I'd still be thinking it only applied to quantum mechanics and Michael Crichton's 'Timeline.')
Anyway, when it comes down to it I think each and every one of these entries merits a read, so I've posted them all here—just hover over the pink rectangles. After you've scrolled down to see who the w
Flash Fiction Month 2015FFM Are you ready?Flash Fiction Month 20153 months ago in Literature Features More Like This
July marks the start of Flash Fiction Month- a creative challenge to complete 31 pieces of flash fiction, 1 for every day in July. It is a great way to stretch your writing fingers and maybe write pieces you would never have written before. It is about getting in regular writing and creating some potentially awesome first drafts for pieces that are worth developing.
Flash fiction is all about brevity in word count whilst still telling a fully rounded story. Although there isn’t a restriction of word count, it’s best to look between 25 and 1000 words. For FFM, keep in mind restriction and challenge yourself with amounts varying at different word counts.
If you have decided already to participate in this challenge, there is work to be done before July begins! Like any good writer, sometimes a bit of planning can go a long way!

Rest in Peace Robin WilliamsRest in peace Robin Williams. I grew up enjoying Robin's movies from my childhood favorites Aladdin, Fern Gully, Jumanji, Miss Doubtfire and many more. I'm very saddened how he passed away, and so early in his life. Depression is a horrible experience to live with. I know first hand whats it's like. When I first heard about it I didn't believe it, and thought it was a horrible joke someone pulled, but no it was real.Rest in Peace Robin Williams1 year ago in Personal More Like This
