To say something happened as a result of something else, から is used. It translates to "Because of
this, that happened" or "I did this because of this
The reason clause comes before the consequence (result) clause. No changes need to be made
to the sentences - all that needs to be done is to add から between them.
きょうは あつい です。 アイスクリームを たべます。
Kyou-wa atsui desu. Aisukuriimu-o tabemasu.
Today is hot. I will eat ice cream.

This, that, that over there.
These words are used to point out certain objects or people - like saying "this" "that" or "that over there" in English.
これ is used for items that are closer to the speaker than the listener i.e. this.
それ is used for items that are closer to the listener than the speaker i.e. that.
あれ is used for items that are at a distance from both people i.e. that over there.
