The man - he had introduced himself as Edward Carter - twisted a machine-pressed felt hat between calloused hands.
"Well, I run a warehouse in the West India docks for a Mister Hibberd," he began, and grimaced, his pale brow furrowing beneath lank, age-bleached hair. "Top gent. But... There's somethin' tha's not right."
Oil-stained fingernails bit into his hat's brim, and he wet his lips.
"The foreman - he's walked out on me. An' I can't get lightermen in for love nor money. It's me engineer..." The felt hat audibly complained at his attentions. "He's gone a bit... I think he's blown a valve - if you'll excuse the expression."
He paused, and glanced anxiously about the room. Though I doubt he found much comfort there; my study was sparsely decorated at best. His eyes paused on my coat stand, before wandering idly over my desk, and finally, relucta

The final battle had been raging on for almost three days now. The room was a war zone with chunks of stone all over the place. Both trainers had to dodge the crumbling ceiling multiple times, their Pokemon helping when they can. But that also created a distraction and great advantage for the opposing team.
"You should give up now, Touko, you're hurting your Pokemon."
"Ugnn.. " The trainer, Touko, looked down at the Pokemon in her arms, panting, eyes closed. She had been using Revive and Elixirs on her Pokemon to keep them going but it was proving to put a strain on them, wearing them out faster than normal. "I can't give up now, N, I can't!"
"You may not believe it, but some of your Pokemon are agreeing with me. T

I sit close to your side, your bandana wrapped around my hands, quietly watching you sew a patch on your bag. You let me have it for you know how cold I get. From time to time, one of us mutters a few sentences, careful to not disrupt the mellow silence, as if it were an elusive creature we would scare away with the sound of our voices. We do not need many words, anyway. For some peculiar reason your words unfold their meaning to me without much ado. I lean back, listen to my breath, then to yours, watch the dust delicately dancing in the sunlight, and ponder.
It feels as if I have awoken from a dull, dreamless slumber and open my eyes to the dawn, when the fields and hedgerows still lie obscured by haze that is quickly chased away once the light floods over the treetops and
Good IntentionsThe tiny brown mouse, identified only by the bright orange 47 tag on its ear, trudged through the cedar chips toward the water bottle attached to the cage. “Amazing,” Victoria Krell whispered, scribbling notes onto her iPad. The fluorescent lighting flickered above her, and she began writing faster; Craig was getting impatient for his bed. She scratched out a side note in capitalized, red letters to remind herself to bring Star Lab’s oldest night security guard a big batch of Boston creams tomorrow morning.
Victoria leaned closer to the lone cage perched on her workstation, watching 47’s wet, blank staring eyes. The brown mouse was only one of twenty in a three foot long cage. It was not particularly interesting or unique,

Neelix and Heather were already at the workshop for a while when Gale shouted from the back office to get Neelix's attention. He sighed, annoyed and set his tool down as he lifted his goggles and began to walk towards the back.
"Neelix, you have a message." Gale informed him as he entered.
"Oh..?" Neelix replied, interested but felt his gut lurch. As much as he wanted to speak to Muora, it made him extremely anxious. He looked over at Heather who was sitting up on the counter across from him. She was playing with Gale's game again and shared the same look of worry as he did, when their eyes met.
"Yeah... from... the Overseer." Gale replied. He seemed both confused and nervous by this.
"The Overseer? What would he want? We're catching up at a good pace.. I can't imagine he'd be receiving any complaints." Neelix replied, "What did he say?"

Slicker was unsticking the gears on the Bigtime, with such focus that he paid no attention to the approach of the Quickhand, making its minute-long journey around the Bigtime's face. He had clamped safety cables to the supports, but was careless. The Quickhand caught a support line, and dragged him off the gears, sending him plummeting. The Bigtime was in such poor repair that the other clamps had torn free, sending scraps of rusted steel along with Slicker to his death.
Shine had tried to shout a warning, but Slicker couldn't hear. Or wouldn't. Slicker loved his work, loved the way things ran smoothly when he was finished. Mostly, he loved it when things worked, as

Deep down in the depths of the dragon's den, a pair of bleary eyes cracked open.

Cruor Ventus Vs TCE .5 The sound of hammered steel rang throughout the small town. Everyone was used to the racket that went on what seemed to be all hours of the day from the billowing building that was the smithy. Working the bellows of the smithy was a young tanned woman, her dark red hair tied in a ponytail, in order to keep it out of the way while she heaved fresh air fueling the orange coals. All around the town yellowy pools of light spilt onto well maintained walkways to be quickly broken by the men folk as they raced towards the center of town, some bore torches, some swords, some pitchforks, whatever was close at hand.
The clicking of plat formed sandals mixed pleasantly with the deep and continuous calls of the frustrated dogs.
When the center of town held a large enough crowd of angry mulling citizens the mayor shushed them with a loud two toned whistle.
"It's the Kitsune again," he affirmed everyone's suspicions, "he left his mark on and a dent in the grain silo, the smokers shack, and the vegetable garden."
The crowd broke open, voices poured all around, questions from some, outrage from others, and pointlessly

This kiss is indescribable.
Words and the English language itself seem to undermine it.
When her lips graze mine, the brick wall that I have built crumbles completely and these tidal waves of emotions come pouring out uncontrollably.
I begin to cry.
I open my eyes slightly to see that the same tears filled with the same meaning cascading gracefully down her face.
I kiss her more and more and more.
My hand caresses her cheek, entangling my fingers in her hair as I pull her in, closer to me.
There is a thick fog of passion all around us.
I can not see, only her eyes the windows of her soul.
When we part, we stare into each others gaze, reading each others emotions, reading everything hidden between the lines.
Everything is open to the elements surrounding us...
I climb on top of her and kiss her so deeply.
To Love a KitsuneA small ray of light filters through the ancient trees, as songbirds sing their melodies through the morning air. Within the centuries old forest, creatures of every kind begin to stir, preparing themselves for the day ahead. Koi fish begin to swim around one another in the shallow streams as dragonflies buzz softly above. On the forest floor, many beings stir from their slumber. One group in particular is a large community of foxes, which make these woods their home. Although they tend to live apart from one another, they pass each other daily, each one telling their own tale of the day before. To Love a Kitsune6 years ago in Fantasy More Like This

Yes, that was what Lorin said. She couldnt deny it. She heard it leave her lips. Shoot? Any number of profanities would have been more appropriate under the circumstances, but her mothers training was kicking in when least expected.
She would say more later much more but right now there was no time. She had to concentrate on moving her foot from the gas pedal to the brake; had to convince her reluctant right hand to let go of the steering wheel and shift the car into park at fifty-five miles per hour screw the transmission. Had to remind herself not to scream. Not to surrender to the small voice telling her This is it, little girl. Say goodbye.
One front wheel caught pavement; the other tried to keep rolling a few feet farther. The rear wheels attempted to pass them both as the chassis fishtailed to the right. Her left temple recoiled off the driver-side window and the road in fr

*Unadzuki asks "Where do you get your ideas?"
Arrrgh a hard question to start with! Hard because I can't really explain where I get them. I'm assuming it's from day to day life, but I don't actually get the ideas until I sit down in front of my computer with a master plan to make an animation/comic. I sit there, decide what I feel like drawing... then I make the idea up as I go along. This doesn't always work, and I often waste hours on duff ideas. But then I get a good one and make it!

Golden sunlight filtered in through the windows, casting a soft glow across the room. Outside, the cheerful twittering of birds could be heard, along with the faint sound of boots and voices out in the hallway.
Over in the bed, a large lump let out a low groan, shifting restlessly. Everything stilled for a moment, then a blonde head peered out from under the covers, blinking blearily.
Scowling and glaring at the sunlight, Orpheus pushed the covers off his face, feeling uncomfortably hot. Raising a hand sluggishly(what the hell was wrong with him today?) he pressed his palm to his eyes, willing his head to stop pounding. "Ah, fuck me..."
When he felt less like he was going to die if he moved, he carefully sat up, still holding his head. The thick blanket slid down his chest and landed in his lap, bringing with it the realisation that he seemed to have lost his clothes. Blinking slowly, he scratched his head and yawned, swinging his legs off the bed, un

Or do you hate me, maybe?
In that case,
What have I done to you?
Why cant you tell me? Because I am sick and tired of not knowing the truth.
You never talk to me, but if you do youre cold,
But not to the others that stands and talks with us.
At them youre smiling and laughing,
But not at me, why?
What have I done wrong?
Am I so ugly you cant look at me?
Am I so stupid that you cant talk with me?
Why do you hate me?
When we do school works together with someone else,
You dont ask what I like about what you and the other/s are doing.
Dont I have any rights to tell what I think?
Are you afraid that I will say wrong things,
That I will make you feel ashamed?
If it is so,
Why dont tell me straight away instead of hiding it?
Why do you hate me?
You give me strange gazes,
Do I look strange?
Am I ugly?
Do I wear the wrong clothes?
Why cant I wear the clothes I want to wear?
