Unexpected Ch 1Tom opened the door to his house and slowly shuffled in, with his hands in his pockets.
"Tom? Is that you?" Tom's mother, Simone, asked from the living room.
"Would you come in here? We have some, um, news to tell you."
Tom made his way into the living room and saw his parent seated on the couch, looking rather serious.
"What is it?" Tom asked, sitting down on the chair across from them.
Simone looked at her husband, Gordon, and replied,
"Your grandmother has passed. " Simone said solemnly.
"Which one? The one in Oregon, or.." Tom trailed off.
"Your other grandmother, the one in the mental hospital. She went peacefully in her sleep."
Tom's grandmother had been recently put in the mental hospital. She wasn't crazy, but she was getting old and starting to lose it. Tom had only been there a few times to visit. Each time, he had never been called Tom. His grandmother's memory was starting to leave her as well.
"That's, too bad." Tom replied, and looked down to the floor.
Scrapes and Bruises Ch 1Bill walked through the doors to the school cafeteria and slowly and shyly made his way to the lunch lady. "What would you like hun?" questioned a wide woman with red hair pinned up in a net, freckles spread across most of her equally chubby face.
"Just, whatever you have left." the dark haired boy said, eyeing the clock.
"Alright then, " she responded, walking closer to him to take his tray, "Oh my goodness, what happened to your eye dear?"
She gazed at the purple colouring that had made its way around Bill's entire eye. he stared back at her and cupped his swollen eye in his small delicate hand. She blinked once and returned to a little container that stored the mashed potatoes and pre-made gravy.
"Nothing, I uhm, I hit myself in the face with the door. It was an accident." He replied, stuttering and looking around nervously.
"Well you outta put some ice on
Scrapes and Bruises Ch 4"Fucking detention again." Tom grumbled as he slammed his blue locker door shut.Scrapes and Bruises Ch 46 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
He walked across the hallways and over to the only Boy's room in the whole school. This school wasn't really what would be called 5 star. The paint was chipped, the doors creaked and the whole place looked a bit dingy.
He creaked open the door and froze. Time seemed to immediately stop as he processed what he was seeing before him.
He saw Bill in front of the dirty mirror. A silver razor was in his hand and directly in front of the base of his neck. He was crying quietly and all of his makeup was running in streaks down his face. His arms were shaking with nervousness. What Tom was seeing was a boy who was about to completely give up on himself, and his life.
Without thinking, Tom's instincts gave in as he tackled Bill to the ground, swatting the razor out of his hand. He had Bill pinned to the linoleum tiling, Tom was hovering over him. Bill was crying even more now, scared and defenseless. He hadn't had
Scrapes and Bruises Ch 6The phone continued to ring. Bill waited patiently on the other side for Tom to pick up. If he picked up. The phone rang a total of three more times before Tom answered.Scrapes and Bruises Ch 66 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
"Tom?" Bill asked, even though he very well knew it was him.
"Yeah. Who's this?"
Bill twirled the white phone cord with his finger "This is Bill..."
"Oh yeah yeah hey."
"Do you want to work today?"
"Umm." there was a pause, "Yeah, if we can do it at the park. Kate says I have to get out of the house."
Tom called his parents by their first names when he was pissed off at them. Which was actually quite often.
"Okay..I guess." Bill replied shyly. There were people at the park, and people normally meant glares and insults.
"Okay, I'll meet you at your house in like, 5 minutes." Tom replied.
"Not my hou-" Bill tried to get out before Tom hung up on him.
"Damn." Bill cursed under his breath as he put the phone back.
He didn't want Tom to come into his house. He didn't want Tom to meet his dad, or get beat by
Scrapes and Bruises Ch 13Tom couldn't sleep. He had tried and failed and now it was nearly 5am. It wasn't exactly easy to sleep when you could hear someone else's breath right next to you. He rolled over and looked at Bill, who was fast asleep. Some of his hair, wavy from the shower, was in front of his eyes and his makeup was gone as well. Tom began to wonder why he didn't just stay like that, he looked fine without it. He didn't quite understand why he wore makeup in the first place, but Bill was odd and he left it at that. Bill also looked very sweet and innocent asleep, how could his father beat him like he did?Scrapes and Bruises Ch 136 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
He was starting to get butterflies in his stomach again, it was starting to piss him off. His body must think he's gay. He rolled back over and closed his eyes, ignoring the obvious flutter in his stomach.
He was just finally starting to drift off when he felt something warm drape across his stomach. Bill's arm, he somehow managed to get as close to Tom as possible and get his arm around Tom's wais
Unexpected Ch 2Tom was completely startled. He had just been asked to help a person he just met, get out of a mental hospital. He stood up and steeped back a bit.Unexpected Ch 26 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
"What?" Bill asked, his eyes staring into Tom's.
"I," Tom started, thinking about what to say, "I don't think I can, I mean I just met you and, and, sorry I just can't." Tom let out, taking his cart and pushing down the hall as fast as he could.
Bill looked out to the hall and the boy getting away from him.
"You were my only chance..." Bill sighed, and returned to his bed.
Every now and then, there'd be someone passing by his room, someone that wasn't a nurse. But most of the time, it was just another patient. Only a few times, someone had gone past his room, that hadn't been recently admitted. But whenever he tried to talk to them, they didn't respond, as if he wasn't there. Tom was the only person that had ever replied. Bill had a good feeling about him, even thought it may not be mutual.

Scrapes and Bruises Ch 16Tom awoke terribly close to Bill. He was clinging to him like a stuffed animal. He tried to move it out from under him slowly and heard a grumble.Scrapes and Bruises Ch 166 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
"Good morning." Bill said, his eyes were still closed and his face was well into the pillow.
"Uhm. Morning Bill." Tom smiled. How had Bill not noticed that his arm was stuck under his back.
"My back feels weird." Bill mumbled, he was still half asleep.
"That's my arm, Bill."
"Sorry!" Bill was immediately alert. He sat up and let Tom's arm free.
Tom moved his fingers around, they were sort of numb. But now they were both awake, it wasn't noon yet, and there wasn't much to do in Bill's house.
"Anything you want to do today? It's still the weekend and I don't really want to just...go home." Tom asked to break the silence.
"I don't know what there is to do.." Bill said quiet
Unexpected Ch 15"Are you gonna tell them?" Bill asked, sailing up and down on the swings.Unexpected Ch 156 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
"Tell them what?" Tom was sitting in the middle of the see saw, rocking back and forth.
"You know.." Bill whined, squinting one eye, making a rather peculiar face.
"Oh." Tom sighed.
Tom was avoiding it. He never thought he'd ever have to come out to his parents. He had no idea what he was going to say, and no idea what they would do. He knew they wouldn't kick him out, but they might treat him differently, or get mad at Bill.
"Do it today." Bill said still occupied with swinging.
"What are you kidding?" Tom snapped.
"No. If you won't do it today, when will you? Never. You'll avoid it." Bill replied.
And he was right. Tom would avoid it. He would probably keep it a secret until the day he died. He was going to tell them today. He'd seen it done on TV before. How hard could it be?
He pushed open the wooden door to his house and saw his mum making dinner in the kitchen to the right.

Unexpected Ch 14Bill and Tom were at the park. It was fairly secluded, only a few little kids, and a few birds. The weather was warm, and the sun was shining bright in a clear sky. The air carried the scent of fresh cut grass. It was what seemed to be the perfect day.Unexpected Ch 146 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
They were on the swings. Tom didn't swing very high at all, while Bill was doing the opposite. Bill looked like he could swing over the top at any given second.
"You know," Bill said from 7 feet in the air, "it's the last day."
Tom jolted a little and his eyes widened.
"What?!" he exclaimed in disbelief, "No way!"
"Yeah. It is." Bill said calmly, still swinging.
Tom got out of his swing and walked in front of Bill's, far ahead enough not to be hit. He stared at Bill, until it started to creep him out. Bill stopped and got up.
"What?" Bill asked.
"How the fuck aren't you scared shitless right now?"
"I don't know. I guess, I just love you so much. And, I feel good not killing you."
Tom stared at him with wide eyes.
"How are you not scared
Scrapes and Bruises Ch 5The two boys woke up simultaneously to the sound of a garbage truck doing it's work in the street. They were arranged so that their bodies formed an upside down 'V' against the wall the couch was placed against. Bill's head was leaning on Tom's shoulder. The boy's realised what position they were in at once and straightened up. A few seconds later, Bill also realised, he wasn't in his room.Scrapes and Bruises Ch 56 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
"What time is it?" Bill said a bit manically, his eyes scanning around the room for a clock.
Tom pulled out his cellphone, it was nice and warm from his laying on it all night, "10.34, why? You gotta be somewhere?"
"Holy shit my dad is going to kill me. I've gotta go." Bill's eye's widened.
"Why?" As soon as Tom said that, Bill was gone.
Bill slammed the door behind him and ran as fast as his legs could get him. His house was a bit far, but he managed to sprint the whole way. He opened the door, panting, and let himself in.
"Bill! Where the fuck were you? You didn't say you'd stay the whole damn nig
Scrapes and Bruises Ch 12Bill held his sleeping bag to his chest and looked around Tom's room for an open space to lay it. This was nearly impossible. "There, you can sleep here." Tom said, forcing out a smile. For some reason, he still felt awkward talking to Bill.
"Thankyou." Bill said timidly as he laid the sleeping bag down.
"You're not actually going to sleep are you?" Tom asked as Bill got into his sleeping bag.
"No?" Bill had never been to an actual sleepover, so he didn't know what to do at one.
"It's not even late yet. Let's watch a movie or something." Tom sprang off the bed and dug through what seemed to be a random pile and pulled out a DVD case.
"Role Models?" Tom waved the DVD in the air.
"Do you ever watch movies?" Tom raised an eyebrow and made an unusual face.
"Not really, no."
Tom froze, wide-eyed for a minute before shaking it off.
Scrapes and Bruises Ch 2Bill pushed open the door to his last class of the day, History. Ms. Crider stared at him in disappointment.Scrapes and Bruises Ch 26 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
She didn't like the way he dressed, she didn't approve of his hair, and she did not at all approve of his makeup. She glared at him and whipped her head in the opposite direction. Bill knew she hated him, but he just walked past the rows of his peers, sitting in their chairs. Some were texting under the wooden tables, and others were staring up at him, their eyes mocking him silently. He breathed heavily and took his seat in the back.
"Okay students." she slapped a ruler against her palm, "Get with your partners and start taking notes."
'Great,' he thought, 'now I have to work with him.'
He pushed back his chair and got up, roaming farther back to the end of class where Crazy was rubbing his arm, with a faint look of discomfort written on his face.
Tom looked down at Bill's pale arm and saw large purple-brown shapes scattered across.
"What happened to you?" Tom wonde
Scrapes and Bruises Ch 14Tom stood in front of Bill's house. The paint was chipped and the door looked old. "Anyone home?" he called throughout the house. He had to make sure, "Okay it's all clear." he declared with a feel of happiness in his voice.
Tom walked through the door and looked around. The house gave off a dreary feeling. He wondered how Bill could have lived in this house his whole life. It was smaller than his own house, but it seemed, simpler, less furnished. The house was pretty bare and only really had the essentials.
Bill looked happy, the house must have somehow been more depressing with his father there. He liked seeing Bill happy, it was a pleasant change from the normal shy Bill. He followed Bill as he seemingly skipped up the stair

Bill grabbed the brown teddy bear and clung to it with a smile, "Thankyou!" he exclaimed, and trotted towards Tom.
"Look what I got!" Bill proudly said, extending his arms so the bear was directly in front of Tom's nose.
"Really? I've never won a thing at a carnival." Tom asked, a little amazed.
"I'm having a lot of fun!" Bill said, slightly bouncing, "What do you want to do?"
Tom looked around the whole place, it was really pretty big, and it being nighttime, the lights everywhere were a tad confusing. He turned to the right and saw the carousel, and a little girl, with her mother shooting daggers at him for whatever reason. He turned his head quickly to the left and saw bright flashing lights and the sounds of a vendor shouting, advertising his little scam game. He looked almost directly behind himself and saw the House of Mirrors, in all of its slightly chipped glory.

Bill peered over his shoulder illustrating that he was clueless about what it looked like now.
"Here take off your shirt. It should be healing right?"
Bill took off his shirt slowly and shyly and dropped it to his feet. Tom's head jerked back. It was there, but also completely gone. He curiously ran his hand over Bill's back. All her could feel was smooth skin, but he could see the big red burn.
"What?" Bill asked, feeling the hands touching his bare back.
"I don't get it. I see the burn, but I don't feel it. It looks like it's getting smaller." Tom paused examining it again, "So weird."
Bill bent down quickly and reached for his shirt, when Simone walked past the open door and gaped at the burn.
"Bill honey! What happened??" she rushed in, motherly instinct out of control.
"Uh.. I.." Bill started, he didn't know what to say. Tom told him his parents would get mad about the party.
"He hit the stove when it was on." Tom

"Coming!" Bill said, soap still on his face.
Tom turned around and saw Bill wipe his face off and starting to walk towards him. All of a sudden, Bill's expression went blank. He lost his balance and feel to the floor with a large thud.
"Bill?" Tom said, a bit worried, "Bill!? This isn't funny! Get up."
Bill didn't move. He was lying motionless on the floor. Tom got up and walked over to him.
"Bill? What the fuck? Did you faint?!" Tom said, getting more nervous.
He immediately noticed how Bill's eyes had suddenly changed color. The went from a warm shade of brown, to a dark shade of red.

Scrapes and Bruises Ch 19Tom sat in the chair next to Bill, nervously waiting for him to wake up. Thoughts flooded every inch of his mind. What just happened? What was he going to tell Bill? He rubbed his temples and closed his eyes. This was Bill he was talking about. Bill wouldn't get mad for this, would he? His father abused him daily, this was good for him.
He stared at Bill's chest steadily rising up and falling back down, and waited.
Bill's eyes started to open slowly, he couldn't see anything but a huge blur of pale colours, but he could faintly hear Tom's voice.
"Bill? Are you waking up?"
He blinked a few times to try to regain his vision to see where he was at, and what exactly happened. And why was his head throbbing?
He sat up and put his hand to his head, making a face of pain and confusion. This wasn't the best time for Tom to tell him, but he was going to find out sooner or later.

Tom was still fast asleep. Bill's legs were beginning to get sore under the pressure. He grabbed Tom's shoulders and shook him a bit to wake him up.

Tom drowsily opened his eyes and look up at a slightly perturbed Bill. He snapped back to his sense and got off of him.
"Sorry. I must have fell off. You okay?" Tom asked.
"Uhm. Yeah, I'm fine. You only squished me a little." Bill rose from his sleeping space.
Tom looked over at his clock, which was reading 2.30pm. Tom's eyes widened at how late they slept.
"Man! We overslept."
"What time is it?" Bill questioned.
"2.30 in the afternoon."
"Oh. That's late. I used to have to wake up at 8 in the morning, no matter what."
"Well, since we missed breakfast and lunch, wanna get some food?" Tom asked.

"Okay," they kept walking until the smell of booze hit them straight in the face, causing Bill to gag a little bit at the unfamiliar smell of alcohol, "What happens at these things anyway?"
"Well, basically you dance and drink and have a good time. You'll like it" Tom said, heading directly to the makeshift bar made out of a few plastic tables.
Bill started to back up, a little unsure of what he should do without Tom being at this side. As he continued to backpedal he felt a hot sensation at his back. He leapt around and let out a hiss, much like a cat's. He had bumped his back along a tiki torch, and he felt the burn. He grabbed his shoulder blade and made the decision to keep his eyes open for another experience like that. He started to wander through the groups of grinding partiers, wincing when he passed by a speaker. When he wasn't paying attention he bumped into someone, who immediately

Bill slammed his head onto his arms, staring down at the table. He hated school and everyone in it. No one liked him, he was the school freak, the outcast. People either made fun of him for how he looked or dressed, or completely ignored him. He'd much rather be ignored than insulted, but he couldn't avoid it. He never saw what was wrong with him, but, he just accepted he wasn't popular and left it at that.
Tom on the other hand, was the opposite, he wasn't the most popular, but people liked him, and he didn't know why. He didn't act differently, he wasn't rich, and he wasn't exactly the brightest, but he always seemed to have a small crowd gathered around him at all times. The only time he had alone was at home when his parents were gone. That was the time he liked the most. He wasn't too wild about the people that surrounded him either.

"What's your name?" Bill asked curiously.
Tom was startled a little bit and the car made a slight swerve. He didn't realize he had never told the boy his name.
"Tom." he let out quietly.
"Oh, that's a nice name." Bill replied, and continued looking out the window.
As Tom was driving, he was thinking about what to do next. He had just 'stolen' Bill from an asylum. He couldn't just leave him out on his own. The only possible conclusion, was to have Bill stay with him. But how to get that by his parents? He looked back at the black haired boy in the passenger seat, looking out the window in sheer amazement. He obviously had been in room 483 too long.
"Hey look at that...um...cow! Look at the cow!" Bill added in.

Tom looked at the caller ID.
"GREENBROOKE CNTY HOSP"
"I have to take this!" Tom exclaimed, grabbing his bag and rushing out the rear door.
He flipped open his phone and put it to his ear.
"Hello?" Tom said, his voice showed signs of nervousness.
"Mr. Kaulitz? Listen, your brother tried it again. We would like you over here ASAP."
Tom slapped his phone shut and gave a big sigh and looked up at the ceiling. It was the 3rd call he'd gotten this week from the hospital. He slung his big, brown bag over his shoulder and proceeded to walk towards the door of the musty highschool building.

Tom's stomach growled. The last food they both had was popcorn at the movies. "Yes please." his eyes widened as he practically begged Bill for food.
Bill blinked himself back into full consciousness and got off the bed, signaling for Tom to follow. Bill was also less shy when he was tired. Bill was a confusing guy, and Tom didn't quite get him.
Once they were down the stairs, Bill opened the cupboards and stared into it's emptiness.
"Sorry...we don't have much food." Bill sighed.
"But," Tom perked up, "You do have a huge box of Cheez-its." Tom pointed to the red box happily.

Bill got up and rummaged for clothes.
"Sibling...that's like a little brother right?"
Bill had never had a sibling, he always had wondered what it would be like. He continued to think about it while he looked through the bag of clothes he had gotten with Tom and found a red shirt and a pair of black pants. He quickly tried them on and asked Tom his opinion.
"How do I look?"
Tom looked Bill over, he looked radiant, as always.
"Great," he chuckled and looked at his own shirt, "and me?"
