Beware The BatmanI caught the first episode of Beware the Batman.Beware The Batman2 years ago in Personal More Like This
What a pile of rancid, charm-free, cheap-looking, poorly written, spineless, generic pap.
To start with, I hate the character design. There's nothing memorable about anyone you see on screen, with the exception of Batman's strange cranial deformation. It looks like someone's been hitting him over the head with a mallet, which is entirely possible given that Alfred has turned into Cato, from The Pink Panther: randomly attacking his employer to keep him on his toes.
And then we have the villains. Batman has, arguably, the best Rogues Gallery in fiction. It's that which makes his stories so interesting, not the brooding. You'd think with the opening episode, they'd want to start strong, or at least hint at some major threat, lurking in the shadows.
Instead, they give us a man dressed as a pig and a frog-man that burps.
And what's with the f**king laser guns?! If any one franchise is ideal for carrying an anti-gun
Don't hit people. How hard can it be?The BBC has decided to drop Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear, following some sort of altercation between him and a producer over food being served at the end of a days shooting.Don't hit people. How hard can it be?3 days ago in Personal More Like This
Very little information has actually been released about the incident. It’s only ever been referred to as a “fracas” in the media and “a bit of a dust-up” by Clarkson’s co presenter James May.
I’m a huge fan of the show and Clarkson’s style of presenting, but if he punched a member of the crew because his food wasn’t hot then axing him is the right decision. There’s a huge difference between an unbroadcast, antiquated, school-yard rhyme (one of Clarkson’s previous “offences”) and physical violence.
Will Top Gear be the same without him? No it won’t. Will Top Gear survive his departure? Yes it will.

I listen to Hollywood Babble On, a thoroughly puerile show (probably one of the reasons it’s on my playlist) which is hosted by Ralph Garman and Kevin Smith. A little while back, a teacher of Garman’s kid was said to be in the audience and Garman joked that he’d better be on his best behaviour otherwise the teacher would call child protective services ‘round.
Smith’s jokingly sexual humour over the course of the show didn’t help out with this at all, AND it gave me an idea for a quick pin-up to draw….. which I did….. and which I thought, at the time, would be really funny to send to them….. which I did…. along with a gag about me drawing smutty comics…… which has come back to bite me…..
Oh, god, there isn’t a rock big enough for me to hide under.
''You do not understand Russia''If I don’t understand something, I try my hardest to learn more about it. Thanks to the internet, that’s easier than ever and leaves people very little excuse to remain wholly ignorant on a subject.''You do not understand Russia''1 month ago in Personal More Like This
I’ve only posted a handful of images and journals voicing my increasing unease at recent Russian behaviour on the world stage, but within the comments section of each have been very lengthy debates and arguments.
A popular response from the Russian side of things tends to be “You just don’t understand Russia”. They just love saying that, but they never try to explain it, even when you flat out ask them to:
SO, with the heartfelt belief that the more people talk, the more ideas and concepts you share, the better the world becomes:
“You just don’t understand Russia”
“Then explain it to us until we do.”
RetardA couple of people (literally only two, but it's a matter worth mentioning) emailed me after they had read the most recent Sequential Art strip, in which the fictitious element “Retardium” is mentioned. Both messages voiced disapproval at my using the word “Retard” due to its slang referencing of the mentally disabled.Retard1 year ago in Personal More Like This
That interpretation of the word, in my eyes, is outdated.
Used in describing a mentally disabled individual, “retard” is a slur, and (as with any slur) anyone who says it in that context deserves a sharp blow to the head. However, used to describe a “wilfully ignorant, able-bodied idiot”, I think “retard” is perfectly acceptable. I’ll wager that everyone reading this knows someone that can accurately be described as a "f**king retard", none of whom are disabled in the slightest, nor in using the word is a mentally disabled person even thought of.
I’ve not heard “retard” used to des

A New Wind Lifts Storytelling
First imagined as a bedtime tale for his son by Kenneth Grahame in 1908, The Wind in the Willows has remained in the top twenty children’s stories ever since. But things have been getting weird out in the Willows, as the new comic on deviantART, Weirding Willows, will attest to.
Badger, Mole, Ratty and Mr. Toad are back… but they’re joined by Alice, Frankenstein’s Monster, Mowgli, The White Rabbit, Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny as they defend the world from the Wicked Witch of the West, Doctor Moreau, the Mad Hatter, Mister Hyde and the Queen of Hearts (not to mention the flying nightmare monkeys from Wizard of Oz.)
The new direction tak
Russian politics: the art of flimsy excuses. On the whole, believe there’s a difference between the people that run a country and the rest of the people who live within its borders. Politicians, regardless of where in the world they hail from, are generally bullies. You have to be a special kind of egomanic, self-serving prick to claw your way into a position where you have the power to put other people in harm’s way to benefit your own agenda. The only difference geography seems to bring is a level of subtlety. British politicians are slimy and insidious, American politicians rely on drama and theatre, and as we’ve seen over the last couple of days: Russian politicians are obsessed with proving they carry the biggest stick, at the expense of everything else.Russian politics: the art of flimsy excuses.1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Of course, in order to prove you have a big stick, you have to actually use it. That’s quite difficult in this day and age. A couple of hundred years ago, a master of a people could just point to a spot on the map, say “Want!” and his army
''Bahrainham''?Unsurprisingly, after the murder of the Charlie Hebdo cartoonists last week: media hysteria is higher than normal, with news networks reporting on virtually nothing but counter terrorism plans.''Bahrainham''?3 months ago in Personal More Like This
Joke news network Fox was clearly so caught up in it all that they went into full reality meltdown, claiming that parts of Britain had become no-go areas for non-Muslims, and that “Muslim Religious Police” were patrolling parts of London, attacking anyone who did not conform to Islamic law.
Birmingham, they said, was a city populated purely by Muslims, and people not of that faith just didn’t go there…..which was news to me. I live just outside it, I venture in on a weekly basis and, as far as I am aware, I am not a Muslim.
The, clearly bat-sh*t, journalist that made these insane accusations was immediately pointed to and laughed at by, well, everybody, and went on to apologise for his “terrible error”.

Nothing to see, here. There are only a handful of names on my “block” list. You have to have been a monumental prick in order to earn yourself a place on it. I don’t hide negative comments about my work nor do I block people that write them. It’d make the world a very boring place if you edit it to show nothing but praise. I monitor content on DA via “browse” as it changes regularly and has work that the community thinks to be high quality. It’s generally where I spot artists whose material I want to see more of. Over the past few days, though, after posting a response to DA inexplicably choosing the letter “Z” to be their logo, people mentioned that the “Super Pretentious” cartoon had surpassed DA’s own “Boldly” journal on the “What’s Hot” list. Thinking that to be funny as hell, I switched to “What’s Hot” t

I don't like to reveal things or go into depth about how I feel, but right now I feel that I need to be honest because I'm just at the point where I feel like i'm drowning. And no I'm not doing this for some petty attention, i'm doing this because I know I have been short temp. with some people and perhaps once people read this they will realize i'm not trying to be some attention grabbing bitch.
My parents are both dead. I don't want to do any rp's right now dealing with death, ghosts, or anything halloween. My mother died on October 26th last year and was put to rest on Halloween so I effing hate October, and my father died in September, and it doesn't help the fact I am constantly reminded of them by their ghosts. So if you talk to me about death I will ignore you. A warning in advance.
To be honest I hate how people are so effing 'gimme, gimme', All day and even on here I read how people complain they don't get allowances and how t

A Pop Culture Interpretation of The Supernatural
Every culture around the world created gods and other mythical beings by mixing and matching fanged and taloned animal parts—e.g., enormous eagle heads on lions’ bodies—human beings have always seemed to need to believe there are powerful and usually quite vengeful supernatural beings lurking just beyond the candlelight.
Supernatural beings come to serve several purposes:
They kept people on the lighted path of truth and goodness, fearful of exploring beyond;
They were a reminder of the punishment we deser
