I caught a variety of elements at play here looking up at the sandstone towers of Zion early on Autumn morning as the full moon set and the air was diffused softly by fires far away. This image is the cover photograph of National Geographic's guide to the National Parks.
While ascending the Weissmies (my first 4000m peak), in the Swiss Alps, as we reached the Zwischbergen pass at 3300m altitude, we were greeted with this breathtaking sunrise over the Protjenhorn mountain on the right hand side.
What other title could I have used to describe this place. The mountains of Jasper, the glacial blue Athabasca river, the sunset light and the fall colors of Wild Rose and Cottonwood compliment this Alberta paradise.
