It's mushy, don't judge me.
The anime mobs are property of the guy who came up with the Mobtalker mod. That art goes to him.

EDIT: I know some of the original wording seemed wrong, so I changed it. And the background itself was kinda bland updated with doodles, as if the girls did them.

Here's a quick tutorial for cel-shading like images in Daz Studio.

First thing to do it take your model, clothing, whatever else you want in the scene, and load it up and pose it. (This worked easily for me)

Next, after you got the scene ready, go to your render settings and set it for cartoon in render style.

Select everything in the scene, including some things like hair or accessories that get parented into different things. These can be a pain to track down and follow. For those of you with great PC systems, this is the easiest way to do this:
Select everything...and in every last bone, model and so forth (excluding lights, which if you already put one in I should slap you) and go to the surfaces, select everything here too.

**(<[Quick note]>) go to free.daz3d.com (registration required) and get the Shader Presets, this has everything from metal to toon skin, in an easily loadable file.**

Now that you have every flingin' thing selected, go to your shader presets in your content panel. Open the DS presets folder and load Toon Matte. Keep an eye on your mouse, when it changes from the hour glass back to the pointer, it's loaded.

Okay, now, hopefully you still have all the surfaces selected. Set the amibient light (third color bar from the top) and set it either to the first grey in that big list of preselected colors, or white, your choice. go to the advanced tab (next to general) and go to the ambient light section. There is a slider that allows you to change the ambient light level. Set it to full. OKAY! First part done!

This is the tricky part. Go to your tools bar at the top (view, tools, create, render, ect) and create a distant light. What you're gonna do with this is switch from your default camera (or whatever you have) and switch to the distant light [this also works with spotlights if you're using one]. Aim it directly at where your camera is looking. Go look at my Noob deviation (heh, Irony). I pointed the light directly at her facing side. Turn this light up until your model is one solid color (without preview render). now get your preview render tool out and start doing some QA (Quality assurance). One you tweak your ambient brightness and lights, you'll eventually find your ideal toon in no time.

Hope this helps!

Tips and Tricks

Instead of a distant light or spot light, you can create a point light. You may be thinking this will look wonky, but there's a trick to this little booger in toon renders.
Go to it's parameters tab. Go all the way down and either set the lumination color to black or no lumination at all. This will give your model a darker and more solid color. This will also produce lines around the edges, signaling where the body features are (I.E. boobs, hands, boobs, and boobs).

Here's another one. Set your background color to white (the default color you see when you start a new scene) this will make the body edges stick out more, and look less crappy. Use any color, but avoid solid black or close to it.
I hope this helped!

Here's a nameless merc, sent to find and retrieve Candy (who is in a "combat" form here). Haven't nailed down a name for the merc yet, but I'm open to suggestions.

<name> is a freelance mercenary hired to track down the valuable, yet extremely unstable Candace who is the equivalent of a very vicious and self aware sports car. The suit she wears grants her abilities close to what Candace has, but lacks in few areas. After <removed for plot secrecy>, the nameless merc was called to hunt and capture Candy.

Candace, after finding out that the world was not all bright, pretty, and pink (still her favorite color), she came to hate mankind. Mostly her parents for letting her friends die and burying her body after she ran away. Her sense of right and wrong became severely skewed, but still has a sense of (demented) justice. She will remove anything and anybody in her way. Innocent or guilty. Her main goal in this digital afterlife is visceral vengeance.

===========================================

Candy is in what she calls a "combat state". Her new body has the ability to change color and appearance based to her will. But doing so requires system resources, except hairstyle. That can be changed in length and color, which will stay in that style without resource use.
In this form, she redirects all system power and resources to the speed and agility of the body, which makes her nothing short of inhuman, and millions of miles beyond super human.
After a while of being with her new body, she learned how to rewrite her systems and essentially overclock everything.

Quite happy. Different from the one I posted on facebook, but whatevs.

Candy (Candace Miller) was the most popular girl in school, loved by the like, hated by the not. On her 18th, birthday, she and her best friends went for a late night celebratory drive. Unbeknownst to her and the others the driver was black out drunk. At one point he did in fact black out and the car flew off the road, and into a ravine. A police officer was tailing them, ready to make the bust when he witnessed the crash, and radioed for backup/med evac. Candace's parents being the rich "successful" people they are, got word and rushed to see her. She would have died, had her parents not put her up for a medical procedure that would have replaced most of her body with robotics. Her mind and memories were digitized, and whatever was left of her body was repaired.

Upon awakening, she found out that none of her friends had survived, and technically she didn't either. She asked her parents why they didn't save her friends and they simply said "That's not our problem". Enraged, she jumped from the eleventh floor attempting suicide. Only to find out that she could not technically die. She ran away with the knowledge of how dark the world really is.
Two months later, she visited the graves of her friends and found out that there was also a headstone for herself. Her parents had decided to bury the body of their daughter. The formally mortal and human daughter. Out of fury she kicked the headstone, obliterating it. Nobody knows what happened to "Candy". But it didn't matter considering even her own parents buried and forgot her.

A 'mash-up' image wherein I attempted to mix the characters of Halo with Metroid. Also, this is very VERY raw - not a lot of the standard post production effects work.

I posted this earlier, but admin slapped me and said NO! This is a modded version of my original dark samus revelation work. While it's not MINE theoreticly, Dark samus is a copyright of nintendo/retro studios. This is just fan art.

I've always wanted to do a picture of Halo's Master Chief and Metroid's Samus Aran on a date. I think they are perfect for each other-both battle in space against evil aliens, both wear armour and they are both single (awww). Don't ask why they would go on a picnic or be drinking tea when they would clearly have to remove their helmets to drink it, because I don't know. This took me a while, and Master Chief was drawn from an action figure so some of the details are a bit wrong. Coloured with colouring pencils.
