This is my revamped and modern technique version of Product 6125, done exclusively because people liked the other one. I hope people enjoy this too, despite having half assed the boots in this version. I will be doing an edit at some point once I decide what to do with her goggles.
This is a character from a story I've been working on for the past year and a half. In the story, MAKI (as she is called by one of the other main characters) was created as a cyborg for the Marine Corps in the 2050s to be an automated infiltrator, capable of going deep behind enemy lines, through hazardous environments, with the purpose of being able to execute high risk missions. Her creation however was designed for somewhat more sinister intentions- originally she was the testbed for a cybernetic body that the leading member of a clandestine organization was going to use to essentially give him immortality, by placing his brain inside the cyborg host body. As a test, they used the brain of a 12-year-old girl who was dying from an incurable and unknown disease. Her parents had permitted the hospital to use some of her organs for research after she died, but the body was claimed by this organization, and her brain was transplanted into the cyborg body, which was then given the appearance of an adult female as a means of lessening the shock to the young girl, whose personality and memories were intact when her brain was connected to the cyborg body. With the transplant a success, the designers created a sort of artificial personality matrix CPU which was designed to override the girl's existing memories and personality. She was thus made into a weapon. An armor suit was fashioned for her to be worn at all times, partially to provide her added protection, but mainly to serve as a psychological barrier between her and other people since it would make her appear MORE robotic and less human. Before she could be put to any use however, the Western United States was bombed. The cyborg was left in storage in an inactive state for the next twenty years. In that time, her personality matrix began to degrade.
When she was finally discovered, her personality matrix and programming had degraded to the point where she was no longer certain of her purpose or who she was. Her natural memories and personality, that of the young girl, were starting to emerge, although she still had all of the implanted knowledge of combat and tactics and some of that cold-professional personality that was part of the matrix. The people that activated her named her MAKI (a bit of a play on the MK.1 designation that adorns her armor).
The story she's in is set in 2076, in the Western United States which has become a No Man's Land following the nuclear attacks on the country. While the Eastern part of the country still enjoys relative comfort, society in the West has devolved into a state very similar to the Wild West era of the 1800s, albeit with modern technology. The story is a bit of a Road Warrior meets Spaghetti Western with a little bit of X-files thrown in for good measure. MAKI's design was based partially off of the armor worn by the Knight Sabres from Bubblegum Crisis (specifically the helmet), with a few other design elements from various sources thrown in.
I'm pleased to show another commission by Dark Vanessa. She used the reference materials very well and was responsive to all of my requests regarding the design and colors of Major Kusanagi. I asked her to draw a science fiction oriented background and she did a great job of that. All the colors she used in this picture go well together. Im very fortunate to commission with such a talented and sweet artist.

Title: GiTS: Transmode Outbreak
Background: This commission continues the Phalanx Invasion series. The Phalanx are showing up in all sorts of science fiction related worlds and its reaching a point to where no one is safe from them. Stay tuned for more updates on that front.
Story: While plugged into the Internet, Major Kusanagi encountered a computer virus created by the Phalanx. It seemed to be an inoccuous e-mail virus that multiplied through an infected system's contact list, sending out more copies of itself. What made it notable was the virus adapted to multiple anti-viral software defenses, prompting Section Nine to neutralize it personally. Unbeknownst to the Major, this was part of the Phalanx's plan to scout out the Internet's defenders and infect them with the transmode virus.
In cyberspace, the Major analyzed the resilient virus in a quarantine zone. It was unlike any piece of data she had seen before, practically alien in design. She was on the right track, until it attacked her. The virus became active and effortlessly broke the Major's quarantine measures. The virus uplinked into her body and installed new protocols into the Majors communication software, jamming her broadcast for help and preventing any escape from cyberspace. Next, the virus directly linked the Major to a Phalanx controlled Internet server. Thousands of bytes of data, encoded with the transmode virus, entered the Major's computer system. In a blink of an eye, the Phalanx had control of her body. With moments to spare, the Major jettisoned her personality via an emergency wireless signal and barely escaped assimilation.
While she searched for a new body to download into, the Phalanx gathered as much information from the Major's databanks. With her body under their control, the Phalanx will to infiltrate Section 9 and spread the transmode virus to her colleagues, assuring their dominion over this world.
