a spray of gas bombs hit her square in the face and blossomed into sickly green fumes. Gum Belles eyes rolled back in their sockets and her head fell into a stack of her own coiled neck. The crooks van roared off, its six heavy wheels leaving deep tire tracks in the unconscious womans shapeless body. Bum Frank coughed and sneezed and struggled against the belt that kept him tied the deathtrap that was now the freighter Confidence, but to no avail.
Just then, FBI Special Agent Lionel Ricketts awoke with a gasp and a pounding headache. The Confidence was littered with bodies, and there was a big pile of some rubbery red sheeting in the middle of the deck. The custom armored jobbie was long gone, but the cloying stench of the gas was everywhere.
What a mess, he grumbled. Leave it to the criminal element to vomit all over six months hard work. Jenkins was still curled in a fetal position next to one of the gangsters, whose gas mask ha

"You know you are the first person to see my secret lair," said Owl Man as he stood behind a mini bar mixing drinks in a shaker.
"I somehow doubt that," said Rubbermaid as she took the margarita glass and sipped from it.
"So, you want to tell me the whole story or should I stuff you into a bottle again and drop you off at home?"
"It wasn't real nice of you to do that in the first place," she pouted, swirling her drink in its glass.
"Secret lair, secret location." he said simply as he sat down at a bar stool beside her.
"Ok, I'll tell you my origin story only if you tell me yours. Deal?"
She paused, "It's a sad story. You sure you want to hear it?"
"So is mine," he replied.
"Well, I was only twelve years old." she said staring blankly into her bubbling drink.

You call this a tasteful costume? It was only Alines first day as a superheroine and already she was finding reasons to regret that particular decision. Eliza looked at the outfit laid out before the two of them and shrugged.
Whats wrong with it? It is made out of materials that will stretch with you, its insulated, should present at least some form of protection against extreme heat, cold, or electricity, and I made sure to get it in your favorite colors, white and green. Aline picked up the green sleeveless vest which would make up the upper half of the uniform.
It was, to put it politely, completely devoid of fabric around a certain portion of her anatomy. Perhaps I should have been more specific when I said tasteful I meant completely covers my breasts is that clear enough? Eliza shrugged mightily.

The tall, handsome waiter moved easily through the pale wonderland that was the Plaza Nightclub. The tables were pearly white, the chairs were white ash, the floor was white marble, and the plates were pure white china. He himself wore a white uniform, and he delivered the food and drink with hands encased in white cotton gloves. Each table was set with a tall white candle, and he made sure each was lit with a pure, alabaster flame as he passed them by. The bandstand, all silver and stucco, was stocked with very fine musicians in bright ivory suits that glittered in the stage lights. They played the latest music; the Big Band stuff that was all the rage with young people like the waiter.
White, you could say, was the color of the day at the Plaza Nightclub, which made the six big men at the owners table so very conspicuous. They all wore dark suits with matching snap-brim hats pulled low over their eyes. Several wore black leather gloves, and their oily patent-leather loafers lur

Maybe her little stakeout wouldn't be so bad if the opera were more exciting. The first act had almost done her in, all lovey-dovey German squawking and sappy hand-holding by some guy named Siegmund and some girl named Sieglinde. Bleah! The second act started off a little better, with a tall, grim-looking fellow with a patch over one eye and a spunky blonde who wore a nifty suit of armor that Gum Belle thought would look very swank on her -- in a different color, natch. There had been a sword fight in there second act, too, which was all well and good, but it had ended much too quickly (and too cleanly) for her tastes. Black Mask would have given her more juicy details.
The less said about the third act, the better. Sure, there was some action in the beginning, but then it

Keitie was stretching around the city looking for trouble when she actually ended up caching sight of a lot more than she had ever planned on finding. Sadly, as a superheroine she was duty-bound to try and thwart any evil she caught sight of. Not only that, but it would be painfully difficult to pretend she hadnt caught sight of a giant near-naked woman walking through the city.
It was hard to judge the womans exact height, but she was taller than anything Rubbergirl could find to compare her against at the moment. She had very dark skin and enough blue hair that an explorer could get lost in there and starve to death before they found their way out.
She was also wearing golden earrings that were large enough for to create a pair of gold-plated UFOs. Then there was the complicated green and yellow armbands and for lack of a better word knee bracelets. Nor was one likely

Ricketts looked up, saw the falling gargoyle, and moved faster than he ever had in his life. He shoved Ted and the blonde away from him, so hard that they fell to the ground, then turned to run.
Ted hit the pavement hard as people ran everywhere around him. He rolled and flailed to keep from being trampled. Something red darted past him, like a serpent. There was an earth-shaking slam, like a giants fist punching the pavement, and gray dust billowed across the sidewalk. He raised his head, saw his Das bowler hat roll out of the dense, gray cloud, and wept.
Well, well, well, said a merry contralto voice. Looks like I caught a whopper.
The dust was clearing. There stood a pretty woman with long blonde hair and a bright red and gold costume that resembled an aviators flight suit. She was leaning against the gargoyle, and was chewing something with relaxed ease as she held her arm a good ten feet up in the air like an anglers pole, where Lion

There was a sound behind Frank like a snake burping and his neck burned. Blood trickled down his spine in a warm, wavering stream. He had a moment of clear and lucid thought -- Did that muther just shoot me? -- before he slammed into the alley wall and collapsed.
Vincent Salucci walked over to his car and picked up a telephone receiver mounted on the back of the drivers side seat. There was a moment of static on the other end of the line, then Eddie the Rats nasal voice came through. Yeah, boss?
The couriers down. Pick him up.
Sure thing, boss.
Soon enough, the lumbering, armored, six-wheeled monstrosity of a van that they had used for the Confidence job screeched to a stop at the other end of the alley. Eddie, Brick Mick, and a few recently-promoted soldiers jumped out, picked up Franks prone body, and hauled him inside.
You sure about the drop-off point, boss? Eddie asked over the phone, as the van

Ted Ricketts dashed from Helmut Arcturions opera box, only to see a red-gold cocoon pulsing high above the lobby floor. Rubbery tentacles swarmed around it, each bearing a frightened opera patron, but it was his fathers face, red and straining, eyes bulging as the cocoon crushed the life out of him, that rammed an ice-cold spike of terror through his heart.
Da! he cried, his voice high and shrill.
Gum Belles head looped around on its waving, fleshy stalk of a neck, and Ted barely had enough time to glimpse the vacant, dead look in her eyes before another tentacle peeled from her body with a soft, floppy flick and whickered through the air at him.
But Ted, though only an average student in the classroom, was an attentive pupil during recess, which had taught him many valuable skills, thanks to playground bullies. One of them was: when attacked, surprise.
He ran forward. The tentacle undulated lower and whipped at his ankles, but he hopped over

So, what is this place like? Aline twitched her fingers nervously as she looked over at her best friend Eliza who was sitting confidently behind the wheel of her car. The two had met in high school and remained friends after graduation despite Eliza being two years older than Aline. Their friendship was a rather odd one, since it was hard to imagine two more different people.
Eliza was always well organized, her personality forceful, and her face extremely prone to irritated frowns. She was wearing a bright red shirt, black long pants, and gazed ahead with a vague contempt for the other drivers or quite possibly the road its self. By comparison Aline was dressed in a much more tame green shirt and bland white pants.
As they reached a red light and the car came to a reluctant stop Eliza finally provided her best friend with an answer. Does it really matters

Aline was enjoying a pleasant nights sleep when she was suddenly awakened from her dreams by a sharp rapping on her rooms window. Of course her arm was halfway to the door connecting her and Elizas room before she realized this fact, and even then it was only because the rapping came a second time.
Aline hoped that in the darkness whoever was at that window hadnt been able to clearly make out the way her body had distorted itself and began to rapidly retract her arm. She looked at the window blinking a few times and as her mind slowly began to resume normal functioning she realized what was making that particular sound. She was just able to see a white-gloved hand, and only a hand, rapping on her second-story window.
She still had no idea exactly what that meant, but was completely sure of just one thing, whatever was going on out there was superheroine business.

The child vanished over the side with a piercing scream.
"No!" Gum Belle lashed out her arm, sent it spooling down the stairwell, willed it to move faster...faster...before the girl hit the lobby floor and burst open like an overripe melon. She felt the strain on her shoulder, very much like the tenuous sensation of a rubber band stretched to the breaking point. Gum Belle's fingers lengthened, brushed the girl's bare toes, but she couldn't get a good hold, and --
Suddenly, her arm whisked past the girl and pooled in the lobby like too much toothpaste. Had she missed? Gum Belle stretched her neck out and peered over the edge with half-closed eyes; she didn't want to see an innocent life splattered all over the lobby.
She didn't. The girl hung suspended by her ankle only one flight above the floor, held aloft by a big, meaty hand. Her shift had fallen up over her face, and her underclothes were on display for public view -- especially by her brother, who took the opportunity to la

Blue-white energy coruscated between the focusing rings and across the copper wires like crawling ghosts. A high-pitched whine came from the cattle prod, and the piston hissed as it rose and spun, aimed the weapon at them. Ricketts pushed himself down the bench towards Gum Belle; Gum Belle wiggled towards Ricketts. They met in the middle, as the gun tracked them with cold precision.
If this is your idea of quality time --
He never finished the sentence. The web of light spun and flared, the whine rose to a piercing tingle, and, with a crack like thunder, a bolt of white-hot electricity lashed out at them.
Gum Belle had stretched herself across the room like a sheet, attached to the ceiling by suction-cup hands. A wavering stream of white light bled around her like a halo, and her midsection bulged as something hammered against it. The sheet drooped a little as she fell into a fit of laughter, her mouth spread grote

Wake up already! It was not just with a most ungracious shout that Aline was awoken, but she was actively shoved off the bed a few moments later. Alines eyes shot open, and she twisted about to face Eliza. Hey, what was that for? Eliza bent down and slowly swept her hand across the room.
Well first of all, the next time you wake up and need to use the bathroom, get up and walk there like everyone else rather then just stretching the lower half of your body into it. This place looks like an obstacle course, and I get enough of manuvering my way through those at work. Take a look at what I had to make my way through in order to get here...
She bent down, grabbed Alines neck and pulled. After extending her friends neck above the bed Aline could see that her legs were stretched out leading away from her bed

Rhonda felt nervous. This whole superhero business was new to her. Her ride in the hovercar was a smooth one as it made its gradual ascent into the clouds. It was piloted by a robot known as Sentry 13, and boy was he a dullard. All he did was drone on about SSSS protocol and procedure, talking about the various forms and documents that must be filled out for full membership and its benefits
The hovercar reached its destination, though not soon enough with Sentry 13 prattling like a Steven Hawking if he were a tour guide.

Anne Longford sat on the edge of London Bridge, rolled up her sleeves, and drew her knees up to her chest. The sun was setting, and it shed a rippling, yellow light across the Thames. To Anne, it looked like it was drowning. A drowning sun that bled gold.
This was her favorite spot. There were no customers yelling at her, no smoke in her eyes, and no thoughts but her own. But the real reason she went here was to see the great merchant ships, the ones from the New World. They lay before her on the river now, five or six abreast, scattering the sparkling water with their bulk. In between, she could make out the smaller craft, the nimble boats and lighters, that scurried between the wooden giants to navigate the river, handle cargo, deliver supplies or admit customs officers. The Pool, beneath the bridge, was as far as they could go upriver, so they moored at the docks, checked their cargo at the Customs House, and let their sailors have fun while they restocked and made repairs.
Bubblegum v Flossy Part ISince no publicity is bad publicity, and since Claire Eleanor Huffnagel was always willing to help out, this Saturday morning she was at one of the city's largest local flea markets. The term flea market was a misnomer; had been for years. It had grown into a venue large enough that some big vendors even showed up from time to time. Vendors like Huffnagel candies, for example. Show StopperThe telethon had entered its tenth hour, and was now finally starting to get to get to the decent acts. One of these acts was a three-girl rock band by the name of Gene-Sis. They were on the last song of their set; Sintia, the lead guitarist and singer; Sabrina, the bassist; and Michele, the drummer. The audience was clearly greatly enjoying the show, but none of them knew that the trio on stage was more than just another band; Gene-Sis was also a trio of superheroes. Sabrina was also known as Nebilina, and had the power to create ice. Michele went by the hero name of Azana, and was capable of not only generating flames, but could also turn her body into living fire. Sintia's power of elasticity allowed her to stretch and reshape her body however she wanted, and she put that ability to good use as the heroine Melodia.Show Stopper6 years ago in Fantasy More Like This
