And I decided to make more useful journals You have to wait for my next tutorial A LOT, so I decided to make short tutorials here...in journals. I'll describe some Photoshop basics for all newbies who try to learn to use Photoshop. So in this article you'll find tutorials: How to make layers, How to change color to a layer, How to make groups/folders, How to change background color, How to rotate canvas and all basics in tool menu on the right side. In this tutorial I used my newest image Mermaid's Wisps, just to show you few things (I just had to open something )
If you wish to see images in full resolution then simply click on the images below (they are big as my screen 1920 x 1080px... OK I cropped bar below ). I used Photoshop CS6 here, so some things may be different in lower PS versions. I'll make even more tutorials l

Ladies and Gentlemen
After almost 18 months, we're finally proud to announce
The Grand release of Omnimo 6.0.
And likely, the last major update
In the lifecycle of this project.
Life's circumstances have a tendency to change rapidly, and indeed, both of us (me and Xyrfo) had experienced rather significant changes which kept us from activelly working on this project. We started it as we were teenagers, but we've grown up and our new lives have begun. Perhaps Omnimo is a tribute to this transition; a hobbyist project that had become more serious with every release. We put our faith in the hope that our efforts were not in vain, and that the long wait had been worth it.
In our previous releases, we hesitated making the changelog out of fear that we won't cover everything that we've worked on. Incidentally, it's also the case for Omnimo 6.0 - we've improved it so much, I

:iconohnoesplz:The new possibility on to start a donation pool is almost a dumb feature.More amd more people send notes or beg on the artist's pages for points.Mostly these are people you don't know, who never faved or commented anything you've made.
1 point is one cent. Will they really sell their pride for 1 cent? Just wondering.
The next step is to sell their souls. There are some guys on DA who sell their faves, features and comments for points. For 200 points, they fave your complete gallery, give you a feature and watch you.Is this the way should work? I don't think so.Can someone really be glad about faves he bought?
DA is a commercial page, and that's okay. But it shouldn't have so much "commercial" users.
I don't mean the users who start a donation pool to upgrade their groups. This is something that
Feature of a Beloved Fractal Artist...:icontwinkleplz:This week we would like to highlight the art of a uniquely talented and beloved fractal artist.....:iconsuicidebysafetypin: This wonderful lady (whose name is Light) has given so much to the fractal community through her devotion through :iconthe-aposhack: as well as being the former Deviant Art Community relations person. She shares her insights on creating fractals with anyone who asks her a question....as well as shares her parameters to teach HOW to create some of the most beautiful fractal arts on DA. Suffering the loss of her Granny this past summer as well as a major move of residence has served to make this a difficult year for her.....and has caused her to take a step back to re-center herself and look forward to a brighter new year. I invite you to to add your own voice of appreciation in the comments section below.:icontwinkleplz:Feature of a Beloved Fractal Artist...1 year ago in Personal More Like This

Quiet Silence breeds thought, and frankly, I find it terrifying. It seems like most of us do, because we're always avoiding it. People don't want to face their thoughts; many of us are haunted by things we'd rather not think about.Quiet6 months ago in Personal More Like This
I've become an addict to my anesthetic habits; music, movies, video-games, etc. but that's not all, because since one thing alone can't keep me occupied, I resort to multi-tasking. I pile on the media 'til I'm drowning in white noise, all to avoid the pain of having to deal with my thoughts.
Recently I turned it all off, just for a few minutes. I shut off my cell-phone and logged out of Skype, I closed out of Facebook and took off my headset, then I painted in utter silence. It didn't last long, eventually my thoughts caught up with me, but I got a glimpse of something; I shook loose some of the blockage in my head.
Fantastic Fractalicious Fractals issue 14The first issue of this year! There have been fractal circles with tweaking fractals around, both in the group :#fractalcircles: and ponging parameters in :#aposhack: , Light SuicideBySafetyPin introduced us for the Inspiration station, the fractal flash mob, a collective feature of different artists. heavenriver has her UF challenge going on http://heavenriver.deviantart.com/journal/Ultra-Fractal-monthly-Challenges-Redux-Vol-12-277027446 and f--l--A--r--k has his Apo challenge http://fav.me/d4l1fc6 and it would be great if we could keep up supporting them! Infos about the abandoned locationsI know that a lot of you are curious to get more information about the abandoned places in my photos and I receive a lot of questions about them.Infos about the abandoned locations1 year ago in Personal More Like This
There is a reason that I don't give any though. I do love abandoned buildings, I see so much beauty in those places. Unfortunately, many people don't.
I do act very respectful inside those places, but there are too many idiots out there that don't behave like me.
I've seen so much vandalism, theft and other bad things happening to those buildings after they have become popular, that I will do all I can to protect those beauties.
Therefore, I don't give any infos about the location (not even the country) or history about them since every little piece of info makes it easier for people to find it.
I'll gladly help you with any info about all non-decay related shots, but there is no chance I tell anything about the decaying beauties. No exceptions.
Please respect that and don't post any info in the comments, they will be deleted without warning.

I don't know where I am going
and I don't know where I've been.
But I can tell you this for certain -
I'm not going there again.
I don't know what I was eating,
or how I got so thin.
But I can tell you this for certain -
I'm not eating it again.
I don't know what my heart was hoping,
to let all these people in.
But I can tell you this for certain -
I'll be hoping it again.
Top 8 Writing Tips!Everyone wants to write gooder. Here's my top 7 favorite tips!Top 8 Writing Tips!6 months ago in Personal More Like This
1. Write what you know.
2. When writing dialogue, make it realistic.
3. Descriptive words and lots of adverbs are the spice of writing!
4. Proofreading is for pussies. Your browser's spellcheck is sufficient.
5. Likewise, punctuation has undergone a revolution. Thanks to cell phones any punctuation mark can substitute for pretty much any other punctuation mark. Also, add more for extra emphasis!!>!
5. Characters with backstory are super important! Be sure to include tons of exposition.
6. No matter what you're writing, include CHAPTER 1 in the title. That'll bring 'em back for more.

I Am Poor, But I am HappyIt is Christmas, although I do not celebrate Christmas, being a Muslim. It does not mean that I can not share much of the Global spirit of Christmas.I Am Poor, But I am Happy1 year ago in Personal More Like This
The Year of 2012, internationally has been plagued with many disasters some natural ans some manmade, floods, cyclones, debt stricken economies, unemployment and war and its aftermath that ravages many countries today.
For me, the spirit of Christmas, that many need to draw upon, this year is probably that of the Character Tiny Tim of Dickens The Christmas Carol
A spirit of smiles, fortitude and happiness in the face of a grim and bleak adversity.
I took my camera to Saidpur Village, Islamabad. Although It has a facade of high profile restaurants for the Posh, Rich and Upperclass residents, just behind this facade is the so called "Village" of Saidpur, which in reality is little more than ugly slum. It is easy to find images of poverty and heartwrenching Unhappiness, But this time I went looking for the rar

Despite some too suggestive images on the front page and a chance you will meet a hater/troll, aren't we all here to breathe in some art, and create our own reflections?
I decided to start this project so I can introduce you to some inspirational people on deviantART and their works.
I hope you will like this and support me to continue featuring talented people in the future.

About creationYou can like someone's creations or not.About creation10 months ago in Personal More Like This
You can fave it, comment it or not here in DA.
You can be a good artist or not. this can be maybe only a personal judgment.
You can have knowledge about it or not have any idea about what's this person is doing.
It can be anything, cooking, doing fractals or playing music.
But please respect. this is not related to anyone here on DA, this is more pointed to people outside, from the real world.
It's very sad and intolerant receive despise from persons about what you're doing simple because they don't understand.
Even considering yourself an artist, (don't like much this term), many people look at you strange, treating you as rubbish, considering this a waste of time.
Prefer waste my short time in creating, than staring all day in front of the TV.
Even this is respectful, cause everbody's free to do with his time what is in his consideration.
The only thing i ask is for some respect, nothing else.

Hi, everyone. What an adventure I have been on since September 16 - with doctors and nurses and physical therapists; a hospital stay of less than 72 hours, followed by ten days in a physical rehab center; food that was occasionally tasty, and coffee that should be ashamed to be called coffee; and the endless love, concern and helpfulness of my wife, Beverly.
I'm talking total hip replacement, son :icondamnseriousnodplz:
My right hip was injured in a car crash in 1983. All these years later, after decades of no real trouble, it wore out. Traumatic arthritis had taken away the cushioning in the joint and I was walking with a serious limp.
There was only one thing to do. I now have metal and plastic where before there was bone and worn-out cartilage. The new hip is fully weight-bearing but I have certain restrictions on bending and twisting. I'm using a cane but will be walking without it before long.
I am home and feeling good, and glad to be back here at dA. F
Another Sad LossAs I am sure most of you have heard, Gary (aka Skyzyk) passed away last night. It came as a great shock to me, to see this news when I logged in today, although I will admit I had noticed he seemed absent recently. It's a very great loss, as Garuy was a wonderful artist, a great friend, and one of the best supporters of the fractal community.Another Sad Loss1 year ago in Personal More Like This
If you want to read the particulars , vist :iconFrankief: 's Journal at .
This seems especially sad as it came on the birthday of :iconkram666: who we also lost all too recently. For myself, this is now the third dA friend I have seen pass away, and it doesn't really get any easier. It will be very hard knowing we will never see another wonderful piece of art from these artists, nor have their support and assistance. Gary was always very helpful to me, and to many others, giving tips and advice about fractal software and good comments and criticism of other's works.
I like to think he is out there somewhere, exploring even more wo
