The Red Crown
I remember a ruby crown,
By mischief set alight,
Perilously burning down
On your tresses of night.
A leap, a splash, and wounded pride;
Such memories I had.
I know that you were beautiful;
I knew all girls were mad.
What I lost, at last regained,
But only these of worth:
Your smile when you said my name,
And the land that gave me birth.
Cruel truth remaining to be faced,
Demons to be fought,
But a moment with you: there is peace,
And pain can be forgot.
I did naught to deserve this life,
And the debt must be paid;
The land in flames of war and strife;
Her pain must be allayed.
My pride, my safety, and my throne;
These I could deplore,
But how could I leave thee alone
Loved I not honour more.
When I've fought for love of country
And died for love of friends,
Maybe I'll then be worthy
With you to make amends.
As the lightning fades I'm praying
To be again with thee,
And we are children playing
Under an apple tree.

Ty Lee took a deep breath, centered herself, and pushed open the door, prepared to leap aside if necessary. Azula looked up from the map on the table before her, but did nothing more, so Ty Lee smiled and stepped inside.
"Azula-" she started warmly, but Azula cut her off.
"My subjects bow before me," she said imperiously, standing. "And address me as Firelord Azula."
With a slight sigh, Ty Lee bowed low.
"Now," Azula sank back into the chair and squinted suspiciously at the map. "What is it?"
"You know I come to see you every day, Firelord Azula," Ty Lee said affectionately. She set the basket she'd been carrying on the table, careful not to knock over any of the tokens that represented army troops. "I've brought you some food."
Azula, moving miniature airships around in the desert, didn't answer. Sighing again, Ty Lee began unpacking the basket. When she was halfway done, Azula suddenly lept up, knocking over her chair, and ignited her hands. Ty Lee instantly snapped into a stance rea

Moving through day and day so numb,
Nothing to do, nothing to be said,
All was boring, ugly, and dumb;
I well-behaved as I were dead.
But something I did not forget:
When fire was bright, an apple red,
Water so surprising wet,
And I was crazy, so you said.
Absence makes the heart grow fonder,
But I was then a heart without,
Coldly walking in my slumber,
Searching for something to care about.
But to lose is less than to regain,
A wish finds more than it wished to,
And when you had come back again
Then I knew how I missed you.
Loving more than me, you could not stay,
Why, I could not understand,
And watch you throw our love away
For something called Our Land.
I saved your life and lost you
So you could lose it as you choose,
I may be a fool; at least it's true
That love, not fear, me rules.
If daylight comes and we meet again,
I will never let you go.
You, healed by healing the land's pain;
You healed me long ago.
My lord's scarred heart is great enow
To love all things and me,

Jin, sweetie, its about your bedtime. Mai walked forward picking the little girl up. Zuko walked around her scooping the other in his arms. You too young man.
They walked to each of the kids bedrooms, and after the servants helped put them to bed, they kissed each good night. Silently walking out of their rooms, Mai and Zuko headed towards the courtyard.
Leaning against each other and the tree behind them, they looked out towards the sunset. Mai looked up at her beloved and smiled. You know Zuko, she said, linking their fingers together. We never have time to just, be together anymore.
Zuko cupped her cheek with his hand, gently stroking it. Yeah, I know. He softly kissed her and smiled at her. Mai smiled back, laying her head on his lap.
