The Paradox of DichotomyThe End, is the Beginning;The Paradox of Dichotomy3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
A Beginning, is an end;
Destruction, and Creation;
A cycle few comprehend.
Death, is Life;
Without Darkness, there can't be Light;
To Leave, is to Enter;
To Sleep in one world, is to awake in another.
The paradox of living
The paradox of dying
A timeline is linear
Time, is not.
An Event, a Sequence,
We dichotomize our world
Into Black and White;
Good and Evil;
Weakness, and Might.
We work to put into order
The chaos without
As if it'll displace
The chaos behind that pout.
We part asunder
Things that co-relate;
Thesis and antithesis,
Love, and Hate.
Things that - without the other
Have no identity to compare;
Without their polar opposites
They're nothing but empty air.
The End, is the Beginning;
The Beginning, is the end;
Destruction, and Creation;
The rebirth of the same old Plan.

That's how it all began
The word became flesh
When His dream became Man
Thought of before conception
Chosen before birth
Planned out before existence
His vessels on this earth
He could have done it all
For in His eyes, all was done
But He made us partakers of His pleasure
In every victory won
Created like seeds
True forms locked within
Revealed through work over time
And a partnership with Him
His TimingHow many times have you wondered,His Timing3 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
When, just when will it be my turn,
To feel those emotions so locked inside,
Such feelings you can't help but yearn,
Yet these feelings we hold deep within,
Are like those of our Father above,
The same adoration, the same acceptance,
The true meaning of agape love,
How many times have you wondered,
Will I find the one, that special one,
Is His will for me to follow Him free,
Or by love on Earth, His will be done,
Yet that one we long to find here on Earth,
Only He alone knows of their name,
And it is patience and faith we must embrace,
Lest true love, honor and trust we defame,
How many times have you wondered,
Will I be able to find romance in time,
Have I missed that chance of true love's passion,
Or will I experience it in it's prime,
Yet timing is not ours to determine,
As the Lord God Almighty controls it all,
Are we so impatient we control our fate,
Or do we yield willingly to His call,
Well, until that day when romance is revealed,
And His one f
I'd Rather Be Loving(7/28/2011)I'd Rather Be Loving4 years ago in Philosophical More Like This
If you had to choose, would you rather be good-looking or intelligent?
I thought about it for a moment, and my answer is this:
I'd rather be loving.
If someone was only admired for looking good, then what would that someone be without good-looks? Would that really make a person ugly? Looks fade, they are not forever. Can that someone be truly satisfied? After all, if good looks were all that people cared about, then that someone would not be truly cherished for anything else about them. Would anybody care about anything else about that someone if all they needed was good looks? Would there really be anything else left? If everyone was "good-looking", then it would have to meet everyone's standards. Yet we are so diverse and different from one-another, and not everyone will have the exact same standards. What then defines beauty? Beauty is a perception. What is left without "good looks"? What does
Taking a LifeI was told that no matter how I lookedTaking a Life4 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Was still murder
A taking of a life
Yet the same people
Somehow cannot see
That not all murder
Needs you to lift a hand
Without justifying their wrong
Can we really not see
Beyond the killing
At the pain
They know they are wrong
At least deep inside
We all have a conscience
Every judgment is a daggar
Of words flung
At someone who's guilt is already
Your words can kill
Even if your hands do not
Hate the sin
But not the sinner
Hating the one who sins
Makes Christians no different
From the world that needs a scapegoat
One Lamb has already been slain
For the sins of many
For the sins of all
Even the ones you scream at
Who's doing the killing here?
No matter how I look
Murder is still murder
They've committed murder
And now, you are too.
A Word to the Socially Awkward(10/05/2011)A Word to the Socially Awkward4 years ago in Philosophical More Like This
For some time I believe God has been meaning to open my eyes and help me realize a weakness of mine that need not be ignored but faced head-on, and He's been nudging me to get the guts to go out and share it. So here I am.
But first, allow me to explain it the slow way. I promise I'll make my point.
You know when you really want something? You ask that you can have it, right? A lot of us respond much like "I really want it. Please give it to me". When we pray, we're much like, "Dear God, I pray that I can have it. May you give it to me."
But you know what God's like? He's like this old proverb:
"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." ~ Unknown
So, instead of simply giving you what you want just like that, He decides that a better approach is to help you learn to get it. Bear in mind that I'm talking about things or goals that are human

Don't hold on to all the anger and resentment.
For deceiving you,
For leaving you when you needed them most,
For picking on you,
For treating you like an outcast,
For taking advantage of you,
For treating you unfairly,
For breaking your heart,
For abusing you emotionally and physically,
For taking away what truly belonged to you,
For murdering a loved one,
For inflicting pain on those you love most,
For accusing you guilty of something you did not do,
For everything my friends.
Because there is a God who always forgives.
And if you've received that forgiveness,
Why not do the same to others?
Why not share the kindness and mercy?
Why not forgive them?
Don't let the hatred well up inside of you.
Don't continue to let it afflict your soul,
Unwillingness to forgive will only leave you unhappy.
Why not forgive?
Why not allow the burden to be lifted off your shoulders?
Forgive them, and you will see,
That your open wounds will begin to
