i won't lie, Mars came to life out of sever depression. it was my final cry for help and some friends know i call this account my miracle. A year ago i returned to deviantArt after having lost pretty much everything, friends, lover, college, my family had their own lives, they didn't know. By june 21st, 2013, i'd hit the lowest point of my life and i realized something, i wasn't happy about it, i didn't like where i ended up, i wanted out of my self destructive cycle, and i wanted to live. so i wrote my pain out, i picked up my pen again. This is one of my favorite pieces, it was perfect to describe how i felt back then, between frustration, shitty news pouring every

Tempest Eyes. What dark eyes, that so effortlessy pierce the tepid hearts of men.Tempest Eyes.2 years ago in Personal More Like This
A sharp gaze unsheathed by tensile batted lashes.
Such deep pools, stark and unrippled.
Do not shed salted streams for superficial wounds.
Such mysterious allure not offered to just any.
Though many boastful and eager men have made faile attempts.
Some return to shore as most had drowned
They knew not of such peril, they could not fathom those depths.
A tempests shadow looms. A storm of ages.
And hers is the eye.
The heart, unclouded, serene and solitary.
Though fierce defenses are a force their own.
The waters, deep and encompassing.
The winds atop, undefiable and ever shifting.
Are they a song of sirens?
Howling remorseless hymns
To drag ferried men to their deepest descent.
Fool hardy endeavors made
In search of self-satiated needs for the bountiful.
Is it pity, that the sirens now sing?
Is she remorseful, for those who could not see her through such chaos.
Were those salted streams unavail, for due course

SabbaticalThere are big changes in my life at the moment. I have resigned my job at Pixar and have decided to take a year off, a sabbatical of sorts, to focus on building some skills that are lacking. My job at Pixar was amazing, and though many might wonder why I would ever leave such a company it's just time to move on more creative avenues and stretch myself more. Those of you who work in film know how sometimes the glorious job is not all that it's cracked up to be. I found I had stalled a big in my growth at the company and want to be utilized more fully. So I've not only left Pixar, but have moved out of California as well, to a beautiful (and massively less expensive) place in the mountains of Washington. My plan is to paint, draw and create and stretch more creative muscles. We'll see what happens next summer after this year. So that's my update for now. I hope all of you my friends have been thriving as well. It's going to be a great year!Sabbatical8 months ago in Personal More Like This

But, I'm never alone.
Outward, I walk my path.
Inward, I tread the depths of my soul.
But, never alone.
I know, which I seek, is already with me.
But, my trial, is to find myself there.

As we bade farewell to another day
Under an azure sky, cooled by a tranquil breeze,
We watch as the seamless horizon fades.
We turn to face the majesty of a stellar night sky
Ever to remind us, that even in darkness remains
The promise of light.
There are hours until dawn
And we are without its warmths
Held in our twilight embrace
We count the stars once more..
We lit one another
And our flames can reach the sky
Here we are, between the dawn of tomorrow
And the edge of this night.

That cause the tides to rise and fall
In your bittersweet but ethereal solitude
The Wilds serenade their lonely carol for you
You belong to both the day and the night
You illuminate the earth in its darkest hours
You enchant the stargazers panoramic eyes
And are the envy of the dancing Aurora
Even under the reign of countless stars
Constellations lose form and fall apart
Like flickering candles, are extinguished by Dawn
It is yours, who's presence is to linger on.
Yours is the minute lengthening of the day
With the opacity of the sun you are withholding
But, not so cruel as to deprive us of its light
You are the twilight, You are the midnight gloaming

She once told me
That we only have the one life to live
With its fragile nature and exquisite frailty
Our short time here is a gift.
To expèrience in full our emotion
Through humble beginnings and empathy
To trust in faith and through devotion
We endure our pain, grief and misery.
She had reminded me a time , just before
There are so many ways to die
But We have our reasons to live
Of those many ways, however, this is mine to give.
Her final words, etched in memoriam
Had bade me to hold true to belief
That our time here is of the essence
But, ever after, we have eternity.
Her soft voice, now a resonàte whispered echo
Should you ever feel so lost and alone
Ressurrect hope just once more
And someday, you will learn to let me go.
For its only darkest just before the dawn
But the sun is always over the next rise
And after each and every passing day
I will be there
To watch the sun set in you eyes.

I've reached beyond the rings of sol
Had traversed passages relative and unknown
Upon the headwinds of dormant ambience
Aloft cosmic horizons
My sails are ushered by solar winds
Yet there is no single star to navigate my course
When mere consciousness is all that there is to existence
The collective of its brilliance is a nebulous dream
Where relative elements are beyond comprehension
Far from the realm of familiarity I marvel at the chrysalis
of clustered fires and dying stars
A realm that was once, so briefly my home
Still, it so warmly cradles All that I had ever endeared
Still, its Life, is the truest beauty I shall ever know
If all could see, soon this too shall bloom with monarch wings
And may it flourish
I reminisce of hardships and the lone path I tread
In search of meaning, purpose and greatness
I see now that these things cannot be found
So far from my origins
I look back now to the chrysalis
I see it with eyes renewed and i

I look in the mirror, "Have I aged?"
no, only matured.

At deviantART, we have spent the past 11 years building a place where artists can share and discuss their work and get inspired by the work of their contemporaries. A noble cause, for certain, but we would like to be so much more to our beloved community of brilliant creatives. Starting today, deviantART will also be a means of inspiration in an entirely new way with financial support for art.
On 3 month cycles, deviantART will accept applications from artists seeking to fund art-related projects. A panel called the Creative Grants Board will pick those projects that they believe will benefit particularly from a Grant and give those artists the support they need to make it happen. The lucky few who are chosen to receive Grants will also be given a beautiful accolade on their deviantART Profile Page to celebrate their succes

Either to conquer or to die,
I think therefore i'am.
In my judgement
I'am not what I used to be.
I hate and love
Those, whom a god wishes to destroy
He first drives mad.
Let them hate
So long as they fear.
Out of the depths,
The fates shall find a way
And may it flourish
I shall not wholly die,
Look to the end,
I shall rise again.
