UPDATE: To those interested in buying a print of this artwork you can do so now over at this link -> www.designbyhumans.com/shop/ko… It also has some of my other artworks(that aren't available as prints here) up as prints. Thanks!
This artwork of mine was made to look like the original cover of the Legend of Zelda:Twilight Princess. This was a project for my class and the objective was to traditionally paint an original or existing artwork, in this case i chose the artwork of Legend of Zelda. As you can see musicgames.m.u.pic.centerblog.… , if you just READ this description FIRST before judging the artwork, i changed a few things from the original.
I was happy with my painting and just decided to share it with everyone else here on DA. So please read the description first before saying unnecessary things. Thank you very much.
I finally uploaded it! HAHA
Phew! It was very hard to scan this thing! It was too big for the scanner and so i had to scan parts of it and later put them together in photoshop(which was HARD).
Anyway i edited some parts of it since the original had some minor problems.
"Boomerangs, bombs, dungeons, magic swords, puzzles, and green tunics. Welcome to the Legend of Zelda."
The Legend of Zelda
My tribute to, what for me personally, is the best video game series ever made. Now I don't say something like that easily, because I mean, I do have 300+ games... I guess, since I grew up with Ocarina of Time, the series always had a special place in my heart... and unlike other great video game series, it never had a bad game in its whole series of games (fourteen games) ~
That's pretty amazing, and each one of them are really good too! I should know, since I own every The Legend of Zelda game so far;
The Legend of Zelda (NES) Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (NES) The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES) The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (GB) The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64) The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages (GBC) The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons (GBC) The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap (GBA) The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures (GC) The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (GC) The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (GC) The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (DS) The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks (DS)
Remember, this is stricktly my own opinion, I do not speak for everyone else. Just because I find the LoZ series flawless, doesn't mean everyone else does. This is my opinion, and it's up to you as a gamer and fan/ fan of gaming to shape your own ~
Omg finally it's finshed! I did this picture for the Zelda fanart competition by Nintendo and Tokyopop, but soon it turned out to be kind of a tribute to my favourite game series. I wanted to depict important and some reoccuring characters from each of the Zelda games. The only two games missing are the original Legend of Zelda and Adventure of Link which are kind of covered by Link-Zelda-Ganon.
Here is the list of characters in the design I chose from each game:
Ocarina of Time: Zelda, Ganondorf, Impa, Saria, Navi Majora's Mask: Happy Mask Salesman, Majora's Mask, Malon (design of Cremia), Kafei Twilight Princess: Link, Epona, Midna Oracle of Seasons/Ages: Din, Nayru, the Postman The Minish Cap: Minish, ChuChu The Wind Waker: Aryll, Tingle, Chicken Phantom Hourglass: Linebeck Spirit Tracks: Phantom Link's Awakening: Marin (no one ever remembers her! XD) A Link to the Past: Farore, Agahnim
Guess I totally overestimated the workload...
~20 hours (not doing this again so soon XO), watercolours
Note: This is from the ENDING of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. If ya don't like spoilers and haven't finished the game, you shouldn't even be looking at it.
And finished! Gannon and Link dukin' it out in Beast form...with Midna enjoying the ride as usual. Silly Gannon. When will you learn that turning into a giant pig just doesn't help?
Drawing this was an interesting process. I had a LOT of references...including official game artwork and screenshots for Link and Midna, other fanart for coloration detail and such, pictures of real wolves for Link's position, and lots of short little videos I took with my digital camera of the TV while I was fighting this scene for both Gannon himself and the background.
I was also listening to what little of the OST I could find online over and over again while I worked on it. twas very helpful for inspiration.
This is roughly 65%ish the original size...feel free to download the full!
Since so many people emailed me and asked me to color it, here's a colored version. The power went out about 7-8 times within the course of coloring this, so it took waaaay to long, and I probably colored the whole thing 2 or 3 times since I lost so much work.
You can now buy this as a poster over at RedBubble! [link] iPhone/iPad version coming soon!

-The Legend of Zelda-
Okay, me doing this piece of art was pretty much a given, considering I'm a HUGE Zelda fan. This of course, is to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of The Legend Of Zelda franchise/series. It turns 25 on February 21st of 2011.
This piece does depict each Link, excluding those crappy CDi games, seeing as they aren't canon and are crappy. I've also excluded the Game & Watch Link, seeing as that isn't really even a Link. I included almost every sidekick of Link's, I excluded Linebeck, mainly because it was hard to find room for him. I've included the different forms of Link, which is why the Adult & Child Link are both there. Link to the Past Link and Link's Awakening Link are considered to be the same Link, so I decided not to draw him twice, just in-case.
I have implemented the Smash Bros. Designs of Link, into each relevant Link, which is why the Toon Links are so detailed, but retain their game's cel-shaded shadows as well. Of course though, I implemented my own art style, while trying to replicate Each Link's respective art style, which is why SS Link and MM Link have different art styles.
Drawing the MM art style made me feel like I was drawing art for Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, which I was playing earlier.
I was going to put the sword from Phantom Hourglass next to Wind Waker Link since they're the same person, but I couldn't manage it, because I couldn't find a good way of showing it that didn't make it seem useless. Any-who, I'm pretty pleased with my art (for once) and I hope you all like this. The pink petals though, are from Deku Link's flowers.
Red, Blue, and Purple Link are near the middle of the image, at the very bottom between FS and WW Link. Red Link is trying to choke Purple Link, while Blue Link watches them.
The Legend of Zelda, Link, Epona, and other Zelda Characters, are all property of Nintendo and I do not own them in any way.
And Because I'm a Pageviews/watchers whore, please fave, comment, and maybe watch me, it'd be much appreciated.
