You stared in shock as the space-ship landed in the field behind your house.
“What. The. Hell.” you muttered, narrowing your eyes at the teal and orange machine that was facing towards you. You muttered some nonsensical things under your breath, slightly angered that some pilot decided to take a lunch break on your property.
Pausing the music on your cassette player, you begrudgingly opened the door to the little house you had recently moved into.
After the incident of New York, you had ended up in the hospital. At first, the doct
Star Wars Training GuideStage 1: youngling Essentially, the Master starts with a blank slate before him. The youngling knows little to nothing of the Force and its uses beyond instinct. It is tempting to skip this stage, but it carries a few essential stages that need to be explored if the person playing the youngling wants a good character development. Alternatively, the 'youngling' can start as somewhat older and more developed, having trained himself a bit before meeting a Master (this is more usual with Sith).Star Wars Training Guide5 years ago in Reviews & Guides More Like This
Step 1: meeting the youngling and bonding Here is a chance for the Master and the student to communicate. Make sure that the other player gets some of your char's background and personality at this stage. This is also an essential part for character development. How the Master and the student experience each other can have great effects on how they grow, together or otherwise. As it was, I watched the cigarette as he brushed his nose with his palm, sniffed to try and retract his emotions and then shakily drew from it again.
He was utterly beautiful, even in wretchedness, and although every inhale was agony in his trachea I could see behind his dulled irises the desire to be better, and I was going to get him there.
I tucked my feet under his duvet and didn't care when our feet touched. He flinched but not at me but because his thoughts had been elsewhere. I took no offence and neither of us moved again.

The first thing I remember upon awakening was that I had been dragged by the hair by those accursed Turks , my head roughly shoved onto a chopping block stained dark by old blood-and soon to be painted anew with mine-and then, amid the gloating-a sharp, final retort of an axe upon my neck

This going to be an extended rant on one of my major points in my Insight on Naruto: http://thaeonblade.deviantart.com/art/Logic-s-Insight-Naruto-4-4-339893727
Remember what I said about minor problems building on each other until they become major problems?
Guess what? The problems have become so large that the plot has collapsed in on itself.
Read the title and you'll know exactly why.
In my Insight, I stated that Kishimoto's tendency to needlessly humanize his major antagonists through Talk no Jutsu or some tragic excuse just serves to weaken the character rather then strengthen them. Pain goes from this un-negotiable destroyer of worlds into a sad little boy whose crying for mommy and daddy; Itachi goes from being a silent kinslayer and the ultimate hurdle to Sasuke's character arc into a good boy who should be revered and awed as a shinobi saint; and Madara goes from the Ultimate Old School Badass who made the Kyubi his bitch into an idiotic sore loser who can't accept that s

Before anyone asks: I have mostly positive things to say about Shonen Jump's Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto.
While Naruto does have some pretty major problems that holds it back, I still regard it rather highly compared to most manga. Most of it's major problems comes from not going as far as it could or should in terms of character development, the setting and themes. But that doesn't make it suck.
I's still pretty good.
So you might be asking, if I like it then why am I giving it a Logic's Insight?
One, as a change to tune. I wanted to change things up a little bit by going over something that I like rather than something that I hate. I'm still going to give it an honest review and point out things that I don't like or don't work. But for once, I want to bring insight into something that I regard positively and expose how it works and doesn't work on a fundamental level.
Two, Naruto has major problems. Forums like Onemanga are ablaze with fans arguing over things like a character

The Bad Stuff
Now to start with the stuff that made me write out this review.
Most of these are kind of subjective and they don't ruin the manga...I just felt like the manga would be stronger without these problems.
For now, we'll start with situations that I felt caused a lot of headache for the main character for no other reason than just because.
Problem 1) Sakura
I'll just be up front and honest about this: I don't like the character of Sakura.
But for the longest time, I wasn't quite sure as to why I didn't like her.
At first, it was because she was useless in the grand scheme of things. While that's still kind of true, I was thinking more in areas of action and skill rather than overall. But, Sakura is a different type of shinobi from Sasuke and Naruto. Within that field, she's a very good shinobi and even killed one of the most powerful and senior members of Akatsuki after countering a poison that no one had ever seen before.
It's not because she's
What HappenedAtton opened his eyes slowly, he was slammed against the dash. He pushed himself up carefully and looked out the windshield. The Ebon Hawk was wedged in between two rock masses, frequent lightening scattered around, the wild winds howling about the ships metal skin. He had lost control. The winds were much more then he had thought, and there was a thick fog that hid much of the jagged rock that stood tall into the air. He had, had a very bad feeling before they arrived to Malchor, and it had proven right. He wiped the blood from his nose and felt his forehead, feeling a painful gash there. Looking about the control panel, it was obvious they had lost power. He reached around and turned the switches to their off positions, flipping a few back on just to see if anything would come on. Nothing did. He pushed himself from the chair, grabbing the back of the seat for leverage. The ship was tipped forward slightly; it was a climb uphill to make his way to the hallway. I know that I'm pretty late to the party.
But Naruto is done.
At least the main manga is. Sure, Kishimoto will release several spin-off stories focusing on side characters and the next generation.
But the story of Naruto that began when many of us were young is now concluded for better or worst.
For the longest time, I considered writing a few last words about the series, but wondered if I actually wanted to. I'd felt as though I'd already said my piece on Naruto entirely and that there wasn't anything else to say. Even when the Final Arc kept throwing things at me to rant about, nothing stuck because I wasn't sure if it was worth it or a repeat of what I've already said before.
So why am I talking about it now? The Naruto Panel at Naka-Con helped and I even got a ticket to another convention in the summer. It also helps that I largely distanced myself from Naruto and focused on other things. I don't even plan to watch Naruto: The Last Movie though I hear that it's good in the romance
Logic's Afterword: Naruto ShippingLogic's Afterword: Naruto Shipping2 years ago in Reviews & Guides More Like This
With the most recent chapter, it looks like Kishimoto is pouring fuel onto the flames.
While the shipping wars of Naruto will never be a quiet ember, it seemed like things were relaxing between Sasuke choosing to turn away from the dark side and the war against the Bijuu. Hell! The thing that most fans were excited about was seeing all four previous hokage show up on the battlefield and start kicking ass.
Then Minato asked if Sakura was Naruto's girlfriend and Naruto bumbled...
Now my fellow NaruHina fans are calling for Kishi's blood since Minato gave off an initial blessing to NaruSaku and the implication that Naruto still has feelings for Sakura despite anything that Hinata feels for him or has done for him. NaruSaku fans are feeling very vindicated, only to have clash against the SakuSasu fans who've seen their ship rise out of the depths of the sunken sea.
I'm more annoyed that Kishi doesn't just nut up and outright confirm the canon pairing for Naruto. Sure, people ar

I leap and roll off of the train and watch it crash off a cliff.
Things have become so stupid, convoluted and contrived that I no longer care about how the Naruto series ends. Kishimoto has demonstrated that he doesn't give a damn about story consistency and he's just going to do whatever the hell he wants regardless of if it makes sense.
It's his story, so technically he can do that. But that doesn't mean that he should.
When a writer just ignores their own set rules and starts doing whatever the hell they want, then it shows in the story and weakens it. Things like Deus Ex Machina/Diabolus Ex Machina are employed when the writer writes themselves into a corner with no other way out; Handwaves are meant to direct the audience away from plotholes so that they can "enjoy" the show; or even jump sharking just to get a cheap reaction from the audience.
There's a lot of them, but some are just symptoms of the disease or signals from noise. Stuff like Naruto disregarding Hinata's

(TMNT Based more on 2003 version) April is 24 and the turtles are 19.
The lair laid in silence, cold and damp in the early morning.
April promising to show up, to see what Donnie wanted to show her, she rushed across the lair towards the lab doors.
Shivering, she held her sweater tighter against herself, she knew that the turtles were resilient towards the cold, odd as it was; this was a bit too chilly.
Reaching the door, within she could hear the chattering of the guys talking and laughing, by the sounds of it, all of them were up, which was unusual for Raph and Mikey, for April knew all to well they weren’t the early risers.
Turning the handle she opened the door, there inside all the lights were on, blinding a bit at first, considering the rest of the lair was dark, she blinked, letting her eyes adjust.

The Revenge Of Oyster Boy
Nine months came,
The mother gave birth to a dame.
Their wish for a girl came true.
They named her Lizzie,
She was sweet and very pretty,
But her obsession for the Gothic made her creepy.
She loved to wear black,
Wherever she went,
She would give her relatives heart attacks
When she wore black, that's a fact!
When she grew older,
She became strangely anti-social,
And preferred books to friends
Such a pity, for one so privileged with charisma and good looks.
One day, she came upon the skeleton in her family's life: Sam,
Her dead brother who resembled a clam
So one day, on an excuse to go to bed,
Due to "a fever burning in her head".
She read about her brother's death and Lizzie Borden.
So morbid.. for a girl so modern.
"Vengeance," she finally said (eerily)
"Will be meted to my parents resting in bed."
With gloves and an axe,
With a face pale like powdered anthrax
She crept into the parents' room, relaxed.
Like her ancestor Lizzie Borden,

Problem 4) Pile-Up of Things not making any sense
Nothing truly detrimental to the story's plot or story, but you'll notice a few things that don't make sense or contradict certain threads of logic.
For example, I'm not the biggest fan of Tsunade. Because I feel like there's little justification for her becoming the Fifth Hokage.
She's alright as a character and she did a decent job in the role considering the circumstances. But her character dilemna and flaws are automatically erased because "Naruto" has that influence on people.
Except that there still there honestly.
Tsunade abandoned the village during a time of war because of lingering grief over the death of her boyfriend and her little brother. So she copes with the pain by gambling her clan's/grandfather's inheritance (where else do you think she got the money to burn?) and running up a huge debt over the next twenty or so years.
That's gotta be the most selfish thing that I've ever heard.
Yet, despite being a

TMNT-SilenceIt had been a long day for April and all she wanted more than anything in the world was for some peace and quiet. April’s head buzzed with the beginning of a headache. What was that about coding? To be honest, she had stopped listening to the turtle somewhere after ‘ectoplasmic egg beater.’ And even though she had been reduced to nodding and some “ugh huh”s now and then, he didn’t seem to lose the excitement or speed of his chatter. She felt bad, because normally

Problem 7) The Importance of Sasuke
The biggest hurdle of getting connected to the Narutoverse and the series in general is Sasuke himself. He's way too emphasized in the series for poorly explained or logical reasons.
And look, it's got nothing to do with the Uchiha massacre stuff. Having his character development shaped around that one night is pretty realistic and he reacts how anyone else would've. Especially after finding out that he'd spent half of his life trying to kill one guy when it was actually someone's fault.
It's not even the fact that he spams his sharingan or that he's a jerk most of the time. Those don't help, but it's beyond that.
The problem with Sasuke is that his role has been expanded as an end-all dilemna to Naruto's goals for no other reason than that he's Sasuke. I don't mind having a secondary protagonist, but there's even times when Sasuke's situations are emphasized as more important than Naruto's.
Why? Because Sasuke is involved.
