I finally came up with a re-design that I was happy with for my Captain America re-design theme this month. The question is, how do you keep him looking patriotic, but different at the same time?! I wanted to incorporate the red and white stripes like the original Cap's uniform, but they never really worked until this version. It's weird, you never really understand how iconic a superhero costume can be until you sit down and try to reinvent it!
I don't have a cool backstory like for my re-design, maybe next time
This is a cover for a made up Ultimate Marvel Comic, but its based off an old Marvel mini series called "What If?" Basically this idea was inspired from the Ultimate Marvel Team Up comic where Spider-Man tried to join the Fantastic Four because Super Hero Teams seem more popular then solos, he even had a Fantastic Five logo made ready to go on his current costume. I thought that if Ultimate Marvel decided to do an "Ultimate What If" series they might do Spidey as a member of the Fantastic Five, but instead of just doing him in hi regular outfit with a 5 on his chest I decided to give him his own Fantastic suit. I gave him a new mask minus webbing because I thought putting a red mask with a blue uniform might ruin it, also I gave him fingeress gloves to slot through thinner gloves so he can still wall crawl. The background I chose is an image of Rogers Tower in New York, I wanted to use an image of the Baxter building but couldn't find one. So anyway hope you like it.
