Slave to LiesThe tag around Anna’s neck made her feel like a piece of livestock. Something branded and labeled; something to inspect and pass on with a comment or two. At first, the faces around her were distinct—there went the man with a hooked nose and a ruddy smile, the women with breath that smelled like peppermint candies, and the two boys who’d pinched her arms “to see if she’s a real person.” Now, they blurred together in a collective of eyes, mouths, words, hair, and clothing.Slave to Lies8 hours ago in Short Stories More Like This
“Smile, darling—you’re driving away customers,” hissed her overseer in a cheerful but dangerous voice.
Anna pasted a wide, childish grin on her pale face. “Yessir.”
“That’s my girl.” The overseer playfully ruffled her hair.
It was an act. All of it. Anna shifted away, uncomfortable, from the overseer. Her feet, covered in mere rags, scraped over loose glass and papers. A shard buried itself in her heel, but the tried and true cal

“Ah sir, we might have a problem”. The Reconnaissance Division leader turned away from the duty roster on his screen to face the lieutenant that had talked.
“What do you mean we have a problem?”
“Well scans have just picked up a very large group of unknown objects moving into our airspace.”
“How many objects exactly?” asked the R.D leader.
“Well 100, sir.”
The R.D leader tuned back to his own screen and checked to see if the scanners were functional and they were. He then put the display on the main viewer. There were 100 red dots flying straight to towards Rome and then another 100 red dots appeared. These ones were heading towards Washington DC. Then another group appeared and then another and another. In total there were 500 unknown objects all flying into the heart of Rozzean territory. They were heading towards Rome, Washi

That day was a normal morning as usual, woke up as if nothing had happened but felt something strange behind me decided to find out that it was facing my mirror with my magic levitating my toothbrush to comb my disheveled hair when I notice that my back had a pair of wings I shout, the guards quickly went to my room down the door and yell even louder Luna entered my mentor after the guards and said:
PRINCESS LUNA- You've come such a long, long way
And I've watched you from that very first day
To see how you might grow
To see what you might do
To see what you've been through
And all the ways you've made me proud of you
MELODY- Ready for what?
PRINCESS LUNA- It's time now for a new change to come
You've grown up and your new life has begun
To go where you will go
To see what you will see
To find what you will be
For it's time for you to fulfill your destiny....
The Altruist and his Water DropletCurling and hissing, coiling up around limbs like an unwanted serpent, the wind snaked its way over the sand dunes. Dust trailed after, grainy and perturbing in a sense of foreboding. Trudging along, as if carried by the wind also, the silhouettes moved across the soft sands. Strained, bundled up against the air, they brushed off the atmosphere as best as they could. Arms were drawn to their faces, pulling down hoods and keeping drapes secure. They were vessels, and they crossed the waves accordingly. The Altruist and his Water Droplet4 hours ago in Short Stories More Like This
“I think we’re going in circles.”
“Now, what makes you say that?”
“It looks the same.”
“It looks familiar.”
“It’s sand,” the older waved his arm, manifestation of him dismissing the initial statement. Their voices had cracked. I
The Cat and Big Bertha“Shiks” are artificial human females genetically engineered to suit the needs of Kasparov-CIA and its clients. The clone women vary according to the tasks intended for them. The “Jako” type is the most common Shik: designed specifically to be cheap, easily mass-produced and generalized in function. Intended primarily for civilian use as unskilled labor, she is conditioned to be docile and restless. Ironically, her secondary function as a foot soldier is typically her first duty. Though the weakest of Shiks individually, her vast numbers provide Kasparov-CIA and its client forces with plentiful sentries and cannon-fodder.The Cat and Big Bertha5 hours ago in Short Stories More Like This
A Jako was armed with a submachine gun and standing guard. Her physique was dainty. Her skin was fair and her hair a mop of golden blond. Her bright eyes were a sparkling blue. Her uniform was a singular, elastic garment of glossy gray and darker gray gloves and boots. This Jako was alone… and lonely… until snatched by the hair and

says a fairy like voice, soft and radiant.
only, the dimensionlessness and the subtle edginess of her voice casts some doubt on her humanity.
Mabel is an alarm clock and she knows Dave is awake.
"do you want me to get you up now?"
Dave lies in bed totally still.
Mabel goes off, but the ubiquitous, shrill buzzer is quickly silenced as Dave was fully expecting it and has made it a goal to see how fast he could make it quiet.
Dave lives in one small room that many entrepreneurs call an apartment.
His bed is in the middle against the right wall(when your entering), Mabel sits with the lamp on the nightstand, left of the bed (when your looking at the ceiling)
the lamp cant talk or anything but Dave doesnt mind because; to Dave, it makes the whole scene look like something from sitcom television show, when they were made in black & white.
Though only Dave would put the scenario together.
"GOOD MORNING Mabel!"

CAE: A Story for ZalatanZalatan Milivosho was the second child born to his parents. His mother Kelahem had carried him as agreed with her husband Milivo. It had been an easy pregnancy for the woman, she often joked it had been much easier then the delivery of his brother Gevelm. He always smiled and laughed when she told the story, more so when his brother was in the room and protested that he had ever been a problem. He had been born with a fairly sever bone deformity with a working eye growing out of his chest. Or at least a mostly working eye, he didn't see very well with it as it took in a different amount of light and range, often causing things to be a tad fuzzy through it. He had white Sclera and black iris with yellow pupils. His skin was greyish with black marking along his cheeks and spine. His red hair was a trait similar to his mother's while the rest of his traits came from his father.CAE: A Story for Zalatan6 hours ago in Short Stories More Like This

It was a quiet evening on Las Cruces Island. Down near the equator, it seemed like the ideal vacation spot. Instead, it was a military base. Near a few major cities, the three airfields posed a major threat to the peace of the Kingdom. And when religious fanatics as militant as the Purists had access to long range bombers, it spelled trouble for everyone. So, it had to be removed.
High above, a transport slipped silently overhead. It was a UC-33 Shrike Transport, notorious for being nearly undetectable. The six rotors churned the air. Useful for sneak attacks, the Shrike hovered in the dark sky, invisible.
"So, why do we have to skydive in?" Shane Videra asked. Holly looked up. Shane leaned back in his seat, the flight suit a bit awkward on him. He had a beer in one hand. How he got in there, Holly would never know.
"I've told you a thousand times," Ellen, his sister, said. "We'd get shot down
