Valeria awoke to the bright sun peaking through her curtains. Sitting up, she rubbed her eyes, her blurry vision slowly beginning to clear. She focused her eyes on the corner of her room, where something caught her attention. As her vision began to settle, she saw that is was a dress, the color of sapphires, with nothing but lace as the sleeves. The neckline plunged low, and the hem slightly trailed along the ground. Valeria frowned slightly, confused. Focusing, she remembered the events of the night before. She breathed. That's right, she thought. I finally found a lead. She sprang up, flinging the covers off and bolting to her door. She slowly pulled it open, looking left and right to make sure no servants were out in the hall. Closing the door behind her, she crept down the corridor and around a corner, slowly turning the knob of her sister's door, resulting in it creaking open.
"Yuna." She hissed.
Her sister stirred in her sleep, her

Regeneration, Pt. 5 of 8. The sky rapidly became as dark as night, and the lightning discharges were almost continuous when Jack, Bonnie, and Nadine advanced further within the forbidden area. It was like an experimental biology laboratory in which every imaginable plant form was being manifested, moving up and retracted back down fast respectively before their eyes -- tested temporarily for adaptation in any permitting planetary environment. Insects, amphibians, and other otherworldly fauna also seemed to come out of nowhere to be most visible during the electrical outbursts, but all was primitive and unknown to any science; they could not even guess why. In their situation, they could not ponder the very important question either, only to know that something was increasingly wrong. Time and evolution together could not remain artificially in check for any reason -- even in the ri's sanctuary.Regeneration, Pt. 5 of 8.23 hours ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

Plot Twist for GrimFace242The lock made a slight click-click sound as the key moved to unlock the heavily-laden door. Dark brown with a high sheen and gilded edging, stained glass windows and an oversized-arch at the top made for a beautifully-clad door, albeit a heavy one. With one hand on the golden handle and the other on the key as it slowly turned to the left, the woman sighed, turned the handle down and pushed with her free shoulder to open the door and enter her lushly-decorated high-end apartment she had rented for nearly eight-years now. An aura of mental fatigue, a stiffening neck and achy feet followed the woman as she walked into the foyer and allowed the door to shut with a not-too-loud slam then a click. Turning slightly to look into the antique mirror hanging on the ornately-designed papered wall, she flipped a light switch so that the twisted and yet coordinating sconces sprung to life with the fake glow of lit candles. The shadowy reflection emanated an eerily garbl
Incidence Choosing to walk home alone probably isn't the safest thing I could've done. At night, no less. But until I'm able to raise enough money to get a decent enough car that won't break down as I pull out from the dealership, I'll have to make do and take my chances.Incidence22 hours ago in Short Stories More Like This
When I walk I pay attention mainly to my feet and, on a subconscious level, to the route I'm taking home. When I walk at night I'm focusing strictly on the gravel and concrete below my rubber soles, as if I didn't already know every inch of it and a previously unknown obstacle will appear (just not to my eyes) and catch my feet. I also put on my headphones to secede from the day I've had and find again the ally I so crave in melody. So I suppose it wouldn't be surprising if someone were to sneak up behind me, overtake me. Which is exactly what he did.
The sky was black and the streets were quiet, dimly lit pathways. If I didn't have my headphones on, I would have been able to hear every

“You’ve been quite the busy little bee,” Rachel Davenport smiled from across the table. We each had a mug of coffee before us, it being an early Saturday morning and all. Hell, I was only dressed in my underwear and an overshirt. This woman – she kept dropping in at aggravating, often inconvenient times.
And the red. So much red. The red suit, the red blouse, the red hair, her red phone…so much damned RED. It hurt to look at her.
“I’ve been working,” I quietly corrected, sipping my coffee. While it wasn’t my favorite drink in the world, I did admit that Brooke had gotten me into it. Specifically, her fiancé. The man was a coffee legend.
“Whatever you call it, taking down two Black Bliss suppliers in a single week is impressive. You even did it right after recovering from a terrible ordeal, too.” Rachel’s grin curled into a devilish smirk. “You know this stu

- ¡Qué bien! Ya vamos a llegar.
No podía creerlo.
No sabes apreciar nada.
- ¿A qué te refieres?
No temas, Pandora. No temas, Pandora. Eres fuerte, eres fuego. La voz que habita entre las sombras.6 hours ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

Mona moved away from Fyodor. She sighed and shook her head.
"Why couldn't this have happened tomorrow night?" She lamented.
Mona went through the front parlor and then to the kitchen where Sickle waited. His arms were crossed. His face was sour.
"Why didn't the corpses protect you?" He questioned aloud.
"Don't blame it on them. Well, it IS their fault but they aren't properly trained yet. Looks like they need more physical strength than magical. Did you see how the boy pushed past them?"
"Calhoun and Rochester...they SHOULD have pushed him back. If it wasn't for your knocking the boy out--he could have gotten you, Mona!--Mistress!"
"It's over now, Sickle. What we need to focus on is what to do with him," Mona pondered.
"It's not the boy that I worry over--it's that creature in his heart. You are powerful in your magic. You gave Calhoun and Rochester ample strength AND the ability to sense magical energy. The fault was not

I hated to see Rebecca looking so down so I took her down from the shelf and held her in my hands. I know mother would kill me if she caught my playing with Rebecca and I started to regret taking her down from the shelf. But before I could put her back on the shelf, the whole room turned into a forest and flowers were growing everywhere on the forest floor! (Wasn't expecting that right? Hehe!) I also realized I was in a tree. "What happended! Where am I?" I shouted. "Elizabeth!" someone called. "Elizabeth! Come down here won't you?" I looked down and saw a girl that looked just like Rebecca! Did Rebecca come to life? "Just come down there's a ladder of branches next to you!" Rebecca called from the ground. I looked to my right and saw a ton of branches leading down safely to the ground. So I climbed down to the ground where Rebecca was. She was shorter than me but only by a few inches. "Are you really Rebecca?" I asked. "Well obviously! You ended up in this wonderfull forest
