The scale lay in a corner of the bathroom, a discreet corner, in the only bathroom. A discreet corner so that all the guests would be unlikely to notice to smudged footmarks as they washed their hands in the only bathroom in the house.
Rose lay asleep in a cradle bed when he came over. He made a little curl on the top of her head with the thin tuft he found there, thinking of how strange it was that such a young thing could have hair like such an old man.
“I thought you weren’t coming today!”
“I just thought I’d stop by. Say hello. I heard you didn’t win the raffle. I brought you a daisy… and “You’ve Got Mail.” Maybe we could watch? It’s my night off.”
“I could use a movie… Rose is such a handful…”
“Then let me stay here for a night or two. I’ll take care of her. You go have fun, stay in that pre
Onward AgainAs my brothers and I stood upon the hill, exhausted and hopeless as we were our gaze drifted to the heavens where the ashen clouds rolled across the light-speckled blackness of the night sky.Onward Again5 hours ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
It is there we saw her in all her majesty, seated upon her astral throne garbed in a veil of clouds, the moon shone down upon us with silver radiance.
Awestruck by the sight not a word passed between we four as we found our resolve, shouldering our burdens once more and setting one foot before the other as our journey continued.
Mystery Dungeon Quiz Surprise(This is my first starter prompt)Mystery Dungeon Quiz Surprise4 hours ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
You were doing the quiz for Pokémon Mystery Dungeon and the screen changed to the one that you decide your partner for the game. When you chose it the screens went black, and suddenly both emitted a bright light temporarily blinding you. When you could see again you saw that the pokemon you chose as your partner was staring at you.
No 18+, I won't do it, even in notes.
It has to be a pokemon that can be your partner (i.e. vulpix, Pikachu, etc..)
No controlling my character, and I won't control yours.
Literary responses: no script, and it has to be at least TWO sentences.

Whatcha LikeBilly wanted nothing more than to be a drummer. He loved music. He loved to listen to it, to write it, to play it, to be it. Lumbering through the halls of high school made him feel like he was being drip-fed numbness. It was like a dream to Billy, none of it seemed real. No sensation ever came to him while he was in there. No positive sensation, that is.Whatcha Like5 hours ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
Billy would walk in through the big brown double-doors, go to homeroom, get up, go to History, get up, go to English, get up, go to French, get up, go to Calculus, get up, go to lunch, get up, go to Politics, get up, go to Chemistry, get up, go out the big brown double-doors, get on the bus, and go home. He was in a never-ending daze. When he got home he ran his pencil across pieces of paper, doing the day's homework, ate dinner, and went sleep. It was a rote.
Every day when he woke up and every day when he got home from school, Billy would look across his room to see the shiny drum-set pleading with him to return. Even on the weekend

It came from a block away, maybe two. The neighbourhood was almost empty this early in the morning. At five am, the university students and young couples and single bachelors that inhabited the apartment buildings were normally still sleeping. Occasionally, he would see a jogger or two, or someone stumbling in from the graveyard shift at work. But that was rare.
That’s what made her laughter so interesting. It was unusual. Different.
It was nice.
He picked up his pace a little, hoping maybe he would catch a glimpse of her on the main street. Here, it was a little busier—but only just barely. A couple cars with early-morning commuters, on their way to work, or to the airport for whatever tropical destination awaited them. There was an older man across the street, walking a chubby beagle down the sidewalk.
But no girl.
He was about to shrug it off, continue on to his destination, but curiosity got the better of him. He walked a bit in the oppos

Kim Reeh nodded as Ms. Alice spoke over skype. He could speak English better than his wife though she spoke well enough. He was an older man, looking tired and worn. His face showed his age despite remaining clean shaven.
"I'm glad he shaped up so much and grown as he has. The guard has done him well. I am concerned for his other schooling though and the impact on his career."
"It is acknowledge-ably not outstanding though it is satisfactory. He does so seem to be most dedicated unto the missions he must complete. Monsieur Jang has so been most accommodating unto him and he has so grown considerably in his ability to so work with others." &

Her skin was the canvas, a mountain craggy with scarred memories. He brushed stony hues over bruised hills, dabbed rainbows over handprints, large as a father’s handshake.
“Don’t paint my eyes,” she murmured suddenly, brush meeting her cheek.
“I heard they’re windows to the soul,” she whispered, blank eyes burning like memoirs in a fireplace. “Some things just aren’t meant to be seen.”

"I'm not doing it."
"Well, I gave you a chance to accept it. You're doing it."
"What makes you so sure I will?"
"Do it or else."
"Or else what?"
"Or else I show everyone the pictures."
"What pictures? What are you talking about?"
"You don't mean..."
"You still have-"
"You told me that you got rid of those!"
"I say lots of things. Doesn't mean all of them are true."
"You asshole! You're pure evil, you know that? Pure evil!"
"Well, I get that a lot. Nice to see a consensus on that."
