Levi let out a gruff sigh as he closed his apartment door behind him. He shed his overcoat and slung it over the arm of the couch and sat down. His head tilted back so that his dark eyes watched the ceiling fan spin around and around.
It had been a long day at work. A careless coworker had spilled coffee on Levi’s pants, the air conditioning was malfunctioning all day, and none of the contraptions in or near his office had worked properly. And what’s worse, his boss was becoming increasingly irritating; at first it was simple passive-aggressive comments, but now it had blown into full-on berating and verbal abuse. Though Levi was much tougher than he looked (and he looked quite tough), he was still a human being that had feelings—however calloused and deeply hidden—, and his boss’s degradation was beginning to get to him more and more.
Levi brought his index finger and thumb to his face and rubbed his eyes. It can’t get any worse, can it? he t
Broken Hearts Repair And Replacement Inc.I like my office dark. Just the dim light of a single lamp on my desk. I work better this way. Keeps me focused. Intent on the project before me. Outside my office it’s daytime. Perhaps close to noon? I couldn’t know for sure. No windows in here. No clocks as I don’t care much for keeping track of time either. It only serves to rush things, and my work is far too important to be rushed.Broken Hearts Repair And Replacement Inc.3 days ago in Short Stories More Like This
I work at Broken Hearts Repair and Replacement, Inc. I’m one of several thousand in the maintenance department. It’s my job to… Well, I think the main gist of it is described fairly well in the title of the company. Every year billions of hearts pour into our factory warehouse in boxes to be inspected, and if need be, repaired. In extreme conditions replaced.
My chair creaked as I sat and pulled close to my desk; my belly lightly smacking against the drawer. As usual, there was a box waiting for me. I pulled the razor blade from my belt and slit the tape. The flaps po

Ashley rolled her eyes, and brushed her hair back while her sisters sighed and looked at the ceiling.
"Come on Liam!" Ashley said, "We said we would pay you. Besides it's only for a bit and then you can go back to normal.
Liam knew they were good for the money. They were even offering $1,000 dollars to him which made him question what they wanted and the catch to this all, he found out, but it was safe and had been used before.
"I don't know Ashley, can't you find anyone else?" Liam asked but his mind was already made up.
"No, you're really the only person we can trust with this. Please Liam, help us." Ashley said and Liam could hear the pleading in her voice. It was time to stop playing his little games and be serious.
"Alright Ashley, I'll help you." He said sighing. Ashley and her two sisters Kristy and Valerie lit up with happiness and the three g

As you entered the classroom filled with Day Class students, you didn't expect the events that would take place over the course of the next couple days. Sweet, sweet unsuspecting you.
As usual, you headed to your seat beside Yuki Cross, greeting both her, Yori, then Zero who sat behind the three of you. You knew nothing about vampires, but had become close with Zero anyhow.
Nothing was out of the ordinary. It was just your typical morning... that is, until you opened up your black spiral notebook.
There, on a fresh sheet of unused paper was a small envelope with a red, heart seal. Though its appearance surprised you, you didn't think too much of it and began to open up the small thing, seeing no need to hide it from or reveal it to anyone.
However, once you read the contents inside of it, you quickly closed your notebook, cheeks as red as a tomato. The sudden motion also caused Yori and Yuki to look at you with startled, confused expressions which you imme

"Oh Romeo, oh my Romeo! Where art thou… screw this!" I growled, tossing the book out of the cave and into the bushes outside. "Why the hell would ANY teacher force their students to study this pile of garbage for English?! Shakespeare doesn't make sense!" I thought to myself rather irritably as I rubbed my eyes, clearing my head of that dreadful sixteenth-century language format. I groaned slightly and looked at my watch.
"She'll be back soon…" I smiled, laying back against the cave wall and closing my eyes. Outside, the sun was gently setting on the horizon of Johto. It was a beautiful night. The forest outside was buzzing with the activity of wild Pokémon: Volbeat and Illumise dancing together in the air, Zubat getting ready for their nightly hunt and

"Alright students." The headmaster told us. It's the year seven school trip, with a handful of year eights who didn't get to go on the trip last year for various reasons tagging along as well. "Make two orderly lines and get ready to move out." The head was a forty something man with a pretty awesome moustache if I do say. When you look at him you fail to take in his appearance other than his moustache, as such I still don't know what he looks like; He seems to know this and has fun with it, grooming it into different styles. One time for a fund raiser he even tried to shave it off, people sponsored him not to do it. Anyway as we lined up I noticed that the lines were of boys and girls. "Parental complaints." Someone in front of me said. I looked to see it was Jon, my brother and one of the year eight kids on the trip. "A fight broke out last year and a girl was injured, so the school just decided to have separate busses for boys and girls to stop the parents from complaining." he expl

It was a lovely Sunday, and Luke woke up at 8:00 AM, gently pushed down of the bed by the sunlight that entered from the the window. He yawned and went out of his room, still a little sleepy. He went down of the stairs and a dish with 4 waffles was literally waiting for him on the table. "Waffles! Thanks, mom!" these were the first words of his day, "I know you like waffles, and I have another surprise for you" his mother said, and he looked at her with begging eyes. "Let's play a little treasure hunt. Make 10 steps on left, 5 on right, and then other 10 on south" she explained, and he immediately started counting his steps. "One, two, three..." He said, looking at his feet the whole time, "And.... ten steps on south!" he said, and looked around, but he didn't see anything, "Ehm, where's the surprise...?" he asked confusely. His mother giggled, "It's right behind you!" she said, and

Mitch was in his house making some popcorn. He had popped in Who Framed Rodger Rabbit and watched it for his weekly movie. However, he was often interrupted by phone calls, e-mails, and texts from his work. Mitch was an independent architect and was hard to properly find work, often replies were turning him down due to his little experience. "Man," Mitch said "I wish life was as easy as a cartoon." he told himself. After that, Mitch's DVD began to bug out. "What the?" Mitch said to himself as he got up to check it out. He opened his DVD disk tray as a huge beam of light shot out of it. Curiously, he picked the DVD up and the beam shot into his face. Mitch's whole body felt strange as it was sucked into the DVD. It felt to the floor as Mitch was now inside of it. Everything was dark to Mitch, however somehow it felt, normal. Despite what had happened he was calm. Mitch began to walk around in an attempt to find a light or light switch.
As Mitch walked his hair grew down to his back. Som

Mesmerized, Ben strode through the small aisle, his gaze sweeping over the sparkling gowns and dresses displayed left and right. His heart was beating madly, and part of his excitement was the fear of being caught, of a shopkeeper or other customer spotting him while indulging in his most secret fantasy.
It had happened several times, and each time he'd wished to evaporate on the spot, the sneer or disdain on the shopkeepers' faces when they expelled him from the store hurting like a thousand stabs with a knife. Each time, he'd swore anew never to do this again, but his cravings were too strong, and after a few weeks at the uttermost, he'd be strolling through the clothing stores' ladies sections again.
The reason for his frequent sackings was obvious - when th

Moe Sthoky was an a-typical gamer and an anime enthusiast. 18 years of age and already 6'4”, very sociable, and, above all else, outgoing, this rare mixture alotted for pretty whimsical behavior... One day, he could be working on stories, playing video games, or watching anime; the next day, he could be playing “amateur” sports with his friends from school or going out for a hike. It was during one of the latter-most nights that he discovered an abandoned telescope along the side of the road, one that was, surprisingly enough, in fairly-good condition, aside from the scratches along its white-and-cyan exterior and the one, bent, tripod leg, all of which he knew he could fix with some small materials and the proper application of man's favorite tool... duck tape...
Setting up his new telescope and tripod on the patio outside his room, Moe observed the late-night sky, the stars and planets stretched out before him on the moonless night that was the end of the current lu

The Neko Outbreak
Part Three: Felis University
Hey, folks. Jack speaking. Actually, ladies first.
My, aren’t you a gentleman. Anyway, I happened to bust my daddy’s car (which reaked of cigarettes anyway). And I’m still running for dear life. But those reading, don’t you dare even think I’m a damsel in distress. I’m plenty capable of fending for myself. But thanks for the concern. Back to you narrator.
Wait. I haven’t even told my side of the story. Oh, whatever, I think you all know it well enough. So, now I have a neko at the edge of my coat. What could she possibly want? Narrator. Do continue please.
Before he could take a bite, he felt a tugging on his coat. He turned around and froze at what he saw:
Looking at her, she was about half his height. She has silver hair, wore a pink sailor school uniform, and sported black cat ears and tail. Her expres
Grell x Reader: You're Beautiful“Worthless…that’s what I am.” You mumble to yourself while lying on the floor of your cold metal cage. “I wish I could just d-die…” You start sobbing into your arm. You belong to the circus. Every day, you perform your ‘talent’ to crowds of people. They always called you names. ‘Freak’, ‘Monster’, and ‘Property’ were some of the tamer ones. They remind you of the day ‘they’ took you away.Grell x Reader: You're Beautiful3 weeks ago in Short Stories More Like This
~Flashback 10 years ago~
“NO! MOMMY! DADDY! DON’T LET THEM! STOP THEM, PLEASE!!!” Your 6-year-old self screams.
“Hmph. Pathetic freak. Why do you think we ever cared about you? Now you can be with the other freaks. Have fun, little thing.” Your mother icily told you.
Tears formed in your eyes. “HELP ME! PLEASE! MO-Mph!” The strange men tied a gag around your mouth and carried you off. They threw you into a carriage and started riding off.
