Life in Beacon – A RWBY Fanfiction – Chapter 01 – “Hunger”
Ruby was hungry.
Now, it wasn’t the normal kind of hungry, the kind that made you ravenous for meat or pasta, that made your stomach grumble and made you smell even the slightest whiff of food. No, it was a hunger that ransacked her mind and agitated her more and more every passing moment.
Ruby wanted chocolate chip cookies.
Who could deny that begging face, the puppy-dog eyes, or the sweet voice
The Ranger - Book One: PrologueWith every tale there is a beginning, and with every beginning there is also an ending. But the ending of an anticipating tale is not always happy with the feel of joy and love, but is filled with death and despair and woe. But you already know this, my dear child, for you have lived among the Elves, and not oft are there stories with much joy or an ending with happiness and everlasting peace unto the soul. But I will tell it to you again, my sweet child, for you desire to hear it once more from me, and before the next fall shall take me like a whisper of the wind, you will only have my tales to remember me by.The Ranger - Book One: Prologue35 minutes ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
There was little hope in the earlier years of the Third Age. What hope there was, it hanged daintily in the heart and was never prolix, gone away far into the horizon. The light of hope was very dim, like a fading star in the endless black night, to be long forgotten upon its fade from the world. It ran like a stream of flowing water in the river; for so long it ran endlessly
Nefrusobek's Quest Chapter OneNefrusobek nocked an arrow against her longbow and aligned its head with her target's eye. She stretched and tensed her arm muscles as she pulled the bowstring taut. Her dark cocoa skin sparkled with perspiration from the Kametian sun roasting overhead. Though Nefrusobek clenched onto the bow's grip as tightly as she could, it still swayed in her grip.Nefrusobek's Quest Chapter One9 minutes ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
"Perfecting your archery again, Your Radiance?"
Nefrusobek jerked her bow upward with fingers slipping off the string. The arrow whistled in an arced path over the field and plunged into the grass at the target's feet. Tossing her bow aside, Nefrusobek grumbled a curse under her breath and twirled around to see whom had interrupted her.
"I am terribly sorry about that." Djadao, her portly Vizier, waddled up to her from the columned arcade surrounding the courtyard. A smirk creased wide between his jowls.
With a deep breath Nefrusobek quelled the irritation flickering inside of her. "You always say that. From now on, please wait until aft

The woman coughed as she fled the ruins with a baby on her back. The baby was crying, but she didn't have time to stop and comfort it. Hopefully the baby would remember nothing of the destruction that tore her family from her. As the old woman ran, she whispered a spell, the baby became quiet showing the spell had done its job. She whispered another and pressed her hand to the baby's chest. She gasped as the energy left her to feed the protection spell on the baby, she staggered to the side a little and kept running, the urge to get the baby to safety almost overwhelming. She found a depilated apartment building that emanated protection spells. She jumped to the top, even without being in her other form she was quite powerful, knowing that if anyone was there that she wanted they'd be on the roof. There a young woman sat gazing at the sky, she said, "I wondered when someone would come, I saw the destruction, but I didn't see when."
The old woman said, "This child will need pro

Ninian -- Thank you so much. I don't have the words for my gratitude. Knowing I wasn't alone, learning how I could drive away the crawling dryness, that there was someone else of my "kind" who wasn't insane. Having an advocate in a group that I was sure would eventually kill me... though according to you, it doesn't sound like they'd have had much success even if I let them. I was going to let them.
You're all very scared and you have in custody one of the only ones who would actually actively talk to you -- even if it was just taunting and gloating.
But the truth is, I'm not entirely that nasty woman, Strawberry. She's a part of me.

Eventually, I woke, and a glance at my watch told me that I had slept through what was left of the evening as well as the night. I half remembered grabbing the watch before following Faelius to the room, probably out of habit. The watch followed me everywhere.
I had been in such a deep sleep, that my usual alarm at 5.40 am (in case the lights didnt wake me) hadn't managed to get me up. Instead, I had slept in. It was already half-past nine.
I also realised that Faelius was standing by the bed staring at the watch as if it was going to explode or something. Of course, he noted that I was awake, and asked why the watch made noises before the sun came up.
I laughed. "It was an alarm."
Faelius stared. "Alarm? What happened? Are you in danger?"
I shook my head. "Not that sort of alarm. It's supposed to wake me up. That's more or less my normal wake up timing."
"That's very early to be waking up." Remarked Faelius, who was now peering at the watch.

merman struggled to free himself, but even without the reaper on top it would have been too heavy to remove.
"Please. Let me go.." The merman managed through his clenched teeth.
The reaper jumped off the rock and held out his hand in front of the merman, palm side to the sky. A small purple flame lit up in the reaper's hand and he examined the trespasser's face. The merman had long brown hair and light brown eyes.
"Pretty basic looking aren't you" the reaper said.
"Let me go!" The merman demanded slamming his fist against the rock. "I have nothing you want!"
"Oh?" the reaper said; picking up a smaller, head sized, stone off the sand and moving toward him. "Just think of how many things I could make from your body; and mermaid souls are so hard to come by.." The reaper slams the rock against the merman's forehead before he could block with his hands. The next morning, I was woken up by Ruby. She told me that Ryder was about ready to leave and that if we needed to do anything, finish it right away. She set off with Maria to gather any remaining supplies we needed, while Alex stayed with me.
“You’ve recovered quite nicely, Alex.” Lisa said as she checked his burns. They had healed up to the point where you could barely see where they were originally. As for me, all of my burns had completely vanished.
“I’m seriously going to have to ask how you make that cream…” I said to Alex.
“It’s kind of a trade secret. But it’s something to do in my spare time.” He said.
And here I always told him that he needed to do something other than target practice… I thought.
“Everything seems normal!” Lisa said. “I think you’re in good enough shape to head out.

The horse veered to one side again, letting out another whinny. "What is wrong with you today?" the carriage driver asked. "Are you thirsty or hungry? Spooked by something?"
"You have a nice family," commented the woman sat in the carriage by the golden-haired man. "I can tell you're away from them a lot. Soldiers have been found to just look at family photos for hours."
Hohenheim had lost track of how long he had been staring at the picture. "Well, I'm not a soldier, but I was away from a long time." He felt somewhat jealous at the fact that the woman sat with her husband and quiet, well-behaved children in a row. "I reunited with my older daughter recently. She's grown up with tough eyes. She just won't understand that I had to be away from a very important reason, and I truly do wish I could have stayed."
"I'm guessing you had a fight about it?"
"Yes, indeed we did. Now I don't have a reason to return hom
Escape : Chapter 9The princess’ eyes were brazened with fire as she stood up. In a flash her sword was placed at my neck and my arms were in her tight steel-like grip. ‘Who exactly are you?’ the princess breathed dangerously into my ears. ‘Tell the truth or you are dead.’ I swallowed as a lump of fear rose in my throat. My eyes flickered over to the direction of Drevl who was looking at me astonishingly, a slight fog seemed to obscure those clear deep set sky blue eyes at that moment.Escape : Chapter 92 hours ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
‘Speak up! Who are you?’ The princess snarled. I could feel the tip of the blade pressed upon me trembled slightly. The princess was also scared just like Yvra who was darting nervous glances at me and his elves mates, his hands gripping the shiny dagger.
It was not a huge surprise for my hair was black in color and my eyes were a dark shade of purple. Nobody else in Acryvia possessed black hair least to say purple eyes. It was a legend in Acryvia that the person who had black colo

One of the hydra's heads was staring at his gargoyle minions. The poisoned one still looked miserable, but he had finally been able to join his partner to gather more than vague feelings. Even though it was still nothing more specific than emotions and feelings.
The other head kept watching Poisoneye. She had kept her muzzle low since agreeing to be his tool.
The healthy gargoyle growled. "As far as we've been able to determine, nobody in the Council felt betrayed at the end of the meeting."
"And Messiah's message?"

Despite all of this, time is the greatest healer, allowing us to forget the dark things we have endured and its constant pressence is a reasurance in a world that is falling down around us. Hence my existance. I came into being in a shattered timeline, a universe that could no longer exist the way it was and as such was destroyed to make room for the new timeline, the timeline many of you will live in.
I was created as the last spark of hope burnt out. My life was all that was left as that timeline fell apart. I watched an entire universe implode around me. That imploded timeline became a part of my memory, and a source of my power. Since I survived the death and rebirth of a universe, I became the sole witness to time's greatest powers.
I was given a choice, forget and become just another slave of time, or remember and become a great player of t

Moving carefully so he would not wake her up, he gently lifted her head and placed it on the pillow beside him and rolled out of bed, pulling in a dark red robe and strolled over to the window. They were in a base, on the third floor and he looked down into the courtyard. The Seekers were already awake and training, he could see clusters of them working together, whether it be firing rifles at human silhouettes on the other end of a field, crossing blades in duels or sitting on a bench wrapped up in a coat fiddling with a lock with a straightened paperclip. He could see a couple laughing and throwing snowballs at one another.
He felt a moan from behind him and he glanced backwards at Autumn,
