3 Hard to Sleep Tonight
Charity watched Tess narrowly as her friend tried to nerve herself to make her plea. She was frantic, even half-crazed. All day and all evening, she had been happy and even enthusiastic. That all had changed the minute Mrs. Vandiver mentioned her old friends Halle, Katte, Moira, and Reine. Especially Reine. Was Reine bullying her? “It’s Reine, isn’t it?” Charity asked, drawing a start and stare from Tess. “Reine’s doing something to you.”
“How do you know that?” Tess squeaked, wringing her hands.
Charity explained. “I saw the way you reacted when your mom told you about them coming over after dinner. You really didn’t like hearing Reine’s name! Not that I can blame you about that. What a witch! No wonder you”—
“Charity, it’s not her fault!”

It was in first class of a Boeing 777 aeroplane, from Australia to England, that a young medical graduate could be found, finishing yet another mystery novel. Not bad, he thought, although some of the alibis given seemed a little weak and the murderer could be easily guessed, but the ending was satisfying and the writing immaculate.
The young man was named Joseph Sebastien Carter and had only recently obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Monash University, Clayton. He had lived in Australia all his life, coming from a moderately wealthy family living modestly in the Melbourne suburb of Bentleigh.
After twenty-three years of happy memories, he no longer felt he wanted to remain in Australia and decided to move to the home of his forefathers, England!
"We are now starting our descent into Heathrow Airport. Please fasten your seat belts," came the voice of the air stewardess over the intercom, "We hope you enjoyed you
Scissorhand"I need to write this quick!" A man sat on a chair at a table. Writing. Writing in a book. His hand began to shake. He began to hyperventilate. He fell down from his chair. In front of him stood a dark creature. Looking. Directly at his soul. It licked its mouth with its long tongue. "Yummy" it said. The creature slowly began to walk. Walking towards the man lying on the ground. The creature placed its abnormally big jaw on his chest. And bit. The red blood ran down the mans chest. The wind blowing inside. The curtains moving like a ghost had taking control of them. A man, lying on the ground. Blood. The full moon outside. The wind flicked through the book. To the start of it. It was a note book. It said. Its now 6 months since i got released from prison, weird things have been happening lately, i think im going insane. Yesterday when i woke up, a dark shadow looked at me. When i blinked it was gone. Next day the police was called by the neighbors because of my screaming. I screamed beScissorhand4 hours ago in Short Stories More Like This

"Think you'll be able to keep that kid in you till Luda comes home?" Monty asked.
"I hope so", she answered rubbing her belly.
"I hope so too", he said. "I ain't delivering that kid."
"You won't have to. If anything happens, I'll have Tommy."
Monty said nothing as she started to read again. Mindy looked up to see a girl coming toward them.
He turned his head to see the girl.
"Hi, it's me again. I'm sorry to bother you, but I can't find my boyfriend, Kemper anywhere and I thought…"
"Ain't you supposed to meet the sheriff?" Monty asked.
The girl looked at Mindy who closed her book and wrapped her arm around her belly protectively.
"Oh", the girl said. "Is this…your daughter?"
"She's my niece."
"I'm sorry. Hey, you look beautiful. How far along are you?"
"Nine months", Mindy answered with a straight face.
Feel The Air WaveThe lab was dimly lit, with musty tomes and yellowed scrolls spread haphazardly across several surfaces. In the center, poring over an ancient manuscript bound with tanned leather on a worktable, with only a dirty yellow lamp for illumination, sat a hunched figure in a white floor length medical coat. He was murmuring to himself. "It's got to be in here. It just has to. Fifteen years I've dedicated myself to finding the ritual. I've come too far with so much blood on my hands to stop now."Feel The Air Wave37 minutes ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Glancing over at the ramshackle doll made entirely out of woven reeds with two empty hollows for eye sockets, the scientist reaches out and scoops it up gently in the palm of his hand. "Soon, brother. Soon. You won't have to endure eternal slumber much longer. I promise you that." Setting it down, he turns the page and scours the ancient and archaic looking text. "Is...hold on..." Leaning closer, he adjusts his large, square-rimmed glasses.
A broad smile spreads across his face. "It is. I've found it

In Scotland, in the lands of clan Dunbroch, Princess Merida was riding her horse Angus around the countryside.
She always enjoyed taking these nice long rides with the sun starting to rise in the distance. Usually she’d have been doing this with her mother, Queen Elinor, and in some cases the rest of her family, but for today she decided to rise early enough to see the sun rise and didn’t want to wake her family just yet. She didn’t have to worry that much given that the servants would likely let them know where she was. She took her bow and a quiver of arrows just to be on the safe side of course.
After reaching the cliffs overlooking the sea Merida removed the hood of the cloak she was wearing, took in the beautiful sight of the sun rising over the ocean and took a deep breath to take in the sea air.
“This is going to be a good day.” She said to her horse. “Don’t you think, Fergus?” The horse only responded with

As I look out what do I see?
A few birds fly into the tree
The bird feeders hanging down
Spinning round and round
The birds are ungrateful
They even seem to be bashful
I want them to stay still
To model for the camera
I want a photo for Deviant Art
The birds don’t know that
The birds don’t care
All the worry about is staying alive
A photo they ask what’s that all about?
It inflates my ego when displayed on DA
That’s why we wont pose for we know
Your photo’s are rubbish
But we like to tease the occasional good picture
It seems to please and it keeps the feeders all full
So you have you photo and we both have fun.

Once upon a time in the land of Arthea, there lived a wizard. The wizard lived in a log cabin in the forest of Ven with his wife. The wizard was a grumpy fellow, and he enjoyed playing tricks and conning people out of money. He would trick travelers in the woods to taking the wrong path that would lead them to a river, with no way to cross except on foot, just so they would have to get their shoes wet. Other times he would give directions to the nearest town for a fee, only to include a path that would be wrought poison ivy. He would cackle delightedly at the thought of their rashes while he counted the coins he was paid.
His wife, on the other hand, was an honest woman; she did not take kindly to his acts of deception. She would often beg that her husband not suggest anything that would bring people harm, and often he would oblige just to shut her up. Other times he just could not help himself. It tickled his beard to see

” She said she… wants to see her children.”
Korra had never seen them actually look like children until this moment. Tenzin and Bumi looked up from the wooden floors of the hut as Kya released the hold she’d kept around her shoulders to smother the gasp, but the room was so quiet it seemed like the loudest thing in the room.
Ikki laid a hand on her father’s hunched shoulder, “Daddy-”
Before she could say anything more, he reached up and squeezed her hand.
"Could you… Take everyone outside dear?"
Ikki bit her lip softly and nodded.
Seeing Korra help lift the elderly Pema, Ikki hugged her infant daughter closer to her chest and walked outside behind Meelo and Jinora. The little baby whimpering quietly as the play things bought or made personally with Gran Grans love vanished from sight.
Katara opened her eyes and smiled when Bumi held her door open to let his siblings in; always her polite big boy.
They filed in and kept their eyes to the

As the foursome were almost finished making their way homeward, the approach from the frozen wastes to the descent below always seemed to take a surprisingly short time to make. The vertical aspect of the journey was a sizeable stone shaft carved into the shelter of a mountainside leading directly down. It led to a place called the Necropolis, the oldest known subterranean population center of its kind still in occupied use and the spiritual capital of Underhaven. This haven for the children of Underhaven was in fact a massive yet naturally formed cavity in the strata of Terra, there being no rhyme or reason to its shape which would have been the hallmark of an orderly Human excavation. And it was home to a great many surprises for someone not of this world inside a world.
As was always the case, the first and most impressive thing the party saw when they stepped outside of the supported stairs which led down to the central nexus were the seven primordial-looki

Mass Murderer’s Imaginary Menagerie! That’s the headline that accompanies my reveal of the Grotesque Infection during my trial. The catchy title does a good job of making me out to look like a lunatic. The article itself is farce. The journalist, David House, wrote it as if I am suggesting a microbial alien invasion of fungus people landed in my backyard. It reads like a smug movie review. He even compares my defense to an M. Night Shyamalan film.
The jury is expected to remain impartial and not be swayed the media. But the week after “Mass Murderer’s Imaginary Menagerie!” made the front page of the Star Telegram the prosecution compares my every word to various movies.
“I never said anything about trees exacting revenge!” Standing trial sucks. It’s long and pointless and entirely unfair. I didn’t get to go home and rest between court hearings. Which would make sense since I’m allegedly innocent until pr
