The sky over the morbid town of Brill in what had once been the kingdom of Lordaeron was the color of lead, with heavy black clouds gathering on the eastern horizon. Despite that it was the middle of the day, not even a trickle of sunlight illuminated the gloomy buildings, adorned with macabre black metal spikes and the iconography of death. By sheer contrast to this bleak environ, the small merchant's tent set up in the town square seemed like an exotic bird in a graveyard. A large, rustic wooden wagon was parked next to the tent, in front of which was a small stage framed by colorful drapes.
"And you did hear that right, ladies and gentlemen. For the low, low price of one gold per bottle, this wondrous new tincture of charisma and sex appeal can be yours," Neglix Goldpincher said loudly in his nasal voice from his position behind the low podium on top of the stage.
Neglix was a goblin, and a rather average specimen for his species. He w

The Prayer of an Undeserving MotherI was young and neglected and struggling to become someone. I knew nothing of who I was other than that I was the product of everything I never wanted to be. Lost in the world, and wandering to find something that felt like home, though never having a clear conception of what home really was. I pretended in the role of an adult, silly child in a woman's body. I had curves, and seduction...I had charisma and grace. I spouted philosophical jargon, and debated humanity as a whole...then crawled into bed with the devil. My mind was raped and my heart was tortured, and I began to break apart. I was the empty beer bottle on the ranch fence, one-two-three shots shattered. I was shards in the sand kicked clear across this desert. I was, exactly who I am. Again I pulled up and carried on, still struggling to find out who I was. Confessions on the doorstep of a church I dared not enter. Pews with eyes that sought out a soul, prayers to tear my existence apart. Melted candles with flicker
PKMNation - Meant to beA young female growlithe ran through the fields. A breeze skimmed over the plains and played with her hair. A little harder, only a little faster. She loved the feeling of how the wind whipped through her fur. One day she’d be an arcanine and have manes. She couldn’t wait for that day. As if having found a new energy source, she leaped forward, sprinting even faster. She never noticed the watchful eyes that quietly followed her movements.PKMNation - Meant to be6 hours ago in Short Stories More Like This
Thanatos sat within the shadow of a lone tree. He sat there calmly, seemingly not moving. From afar it may even have looked like he was asleep, but that wasn’t true. The charmander/cubone cross was actually quite occupied, his eyes steadily tracking another Pokémon across the hills. She was beautiful. The way she swiftly darted forward, the way she smoothly turned around, how she looked under the light of the sun and how her eyes would shine as she looked up to the stars at night. The way she would take care of the smaller ones,

Victor was surprised to see Chase actually turn up to school on time the following morning. More than that, even. Chase was early. And Chase was never early. Straight away Victor felt a spark of worry and he speed walked over to his friend.
“Geez Chase, did someone light your bed on fire?” He asked in a light voice, trying to hide his concerns behind humour. “You’re never this early!”
Chase glanced up at him, and he looked so tired and exhausted and pale that it broke Victor’s heart. There wasn’t even the faintest flicker of a smile on his face.
“Victor…” he said, and stepped closer, dropping forward to rest his forehead against the taller boy’s chest. “…Something happened last night”.
Victor became tense. Had Chase attacked someone else? Had he…had he done worse than that?
“What?” He asked, swallowing heavily.
His arms remained limp by his sides, despite knowing that
Gray hairs Ch. 6Irene had been doing her housework thoroughly for three days. She found it was actually quite easier than expected. She was obviously just blowing things out of proportion. She got the red rooms once a day, and when those were done she worked on the weekly and monthly rooms early to get a head start. She was so thankful it wasn’t all the rooms he demanded be once a day. She had adjusted well. She had been doing a great deal of chores. She also took the task of cooking, though the butler of the house was the one in charge of doing dishes. As it turned out he had a great deal of responsibilities of his own. Irene had introduced herself, and had some similar interests. For example they thought that Gray was a complete and total jack ass. Gray was precise with everything, and if there were elbows on the table the man got his nose hair in a knot! Etiquette was everything.Gray hairs Ch. 646 minutes ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

For an Hour in SummerMy skin was almost red. So painfully burnt that even the slightest wind made it sting. My throat was rough, drier than it ever has been. My lips were chapped and cracked and tasted of saltwater. My clumped hair was almost dry, rougher and curlier than usual. My whole body was badly sore. Exhausted. Smiling left wrinkles at the corners of my eyes and hurt my sunburnt cheeks but I couldn't help it. I just had to smile. That time, nothing mattered because I was happier than I have ever been. For an Hour in Summer2 hours ago in Stories & Vignettes More Like This
It happened not so long ago. In fact, it was just about two months ago, summer of 2014. I haven't seen my cousins for almost four years since they moved to America. We practically grew up together and are very close. It was on June 2014 when I finally got to see them again in the flesh. They even brought a few friends with them. They were only staying for a couple of weeks so I was looking forward to every single day of their stay. I didn't have time to be passive. That's why even if I'm really scared

Greetings loyal subjects, I’m the Keyblade King and let’s open the door on the most notable of the Kingdom Hearts villains, shall we?
Our first introduction to the Heartless is within the first Kingdom Hearts game. It is Leon who first gives detail on what the heartless actually are. I’m just going to establish this now that Leon is an incredibly unreliable narrator in this appearance. One of the major reasons why people find Kingdom Hearts contradictory and confusing…is because it is. Not because the plot is exactly changing but because Kingdom Hearts is a series which needs to be looked at with logic and reasoning, not something that you might think to do when you’re looking at all the Disney characters all over the place.
Although, he did pretty much identify their general nature as instinctive and primal. They seek out strong light so as to feed on it, which is why they are attracted to the heart of w

“This is the story of a time long ago, a time of myth and legend, when the ancient gods were petty and cruel and they plagued mankind with suffering. Only one man dared to challenge their power: Hercules. Hercules possessed a strength the world had never seen, a strength surpassed only by the power of his heart. He journeyed the Earth battling the minions of his wicked stepmother Hera, the all powerful queen of the gods. But wherever there was evil, wherever an innocent would suffer there would be Hercules!”
Having endured his legendary twelve labors, Hercules, the Greek demigod, has his life as a sword-for-hire tested when the King of Thrace and his daughter seek his aid in defeating a tyrannical warlord. This is Rumor Control, here are the facts! When I was a kid my first childhood icon was Hercules. I remember every Saturday night watching Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (afterwards getting into the weekly argument with my older sister on who was better Hercules or Xena

The Three Different Kinds of DashThe Three Different Kinds of DashThe Three Different Kinds of Dash4 hours ago in Philosophical More Like This
In English, there are three dash-like punctuation marks: the hyphen, the en dash, and the em dash. Although these punctuation marks appear quite similar, each of them has a slightly different purpose.
The hyphen (-) is the shortest of the dashes. It has a number of different uses:
To connect the two parts of a word when one part of the word is on one line and the other part is on the next line. You don’t usually see this anymore since most word processors automatically adjust to avoid splitting words across lines.
To connect parts of a compound word (e.g., son-in-law, well-being, twenty-one).
To connect groups of numbers or characters, such as phone numbers or number plates (e.g., 555-555-555, ABC-123).
The en dash (–) is longer than the hyphen. It is mainly used to connect numbers, dates, and other similar things that provide a range of values:
To connect numbers which form a range (e.g., World War I

Your body is the home you live in and it is your property only. You can do with it whatever you want.
Renovate it, rebuild it, decorate it in whichever way you feel the most comfortable with.
There might be people coming to visit that home of yours. Maybe they don’t like what you did with it, maybe they want you to change it.
Throw them out.
It is yours and you’re the only one to decide about its design and style. You are the architect, designer and rightful owner of your body.
You make the decisions and nobody else.

The mountains beyond the horizon glitter at the break of dawn, and Princess Valeria Rose is just returning home. The Kingdom of Pearl was a dangerous place these days. She stealthily climbed over the ivy wall, stunning palace guards as she went. She climbed up to her window ledge, and tapped the stained glass rhythmically, five times. Shortly after, the window pane slid up, and Valeria was greeted by her younger sister Yuna, who had a look of relief wash over her face as she extended her hand to help her sister climb through.
"You're later than usual," Yuna hissed, carefully closing the window after Valeria.
"The Shadow is never late." Valeria grinned toothily, setting down her swords on her bed. "Is the door locked?"
Yuna nodded briskly. "Yes, I made sure before letting you in."
"You're a good sister, Yuna. I can always trust you." Valeria smiled gratefully, brushing her lavender bangs out of her eyes.
"So? I'm guessing the reason you're late is beca

The deep and clouded dark water distorts my reflection as if it’s mirroring the falsehood I feel in my soul. I splash the water with my blood-covered hands to erase the image I see, but as the water turns red around me, I nearly lose my mind. This is not me, I think as I scrub at my hands so hard that some of the blood entering the water is my own. The tears well up in my eyes and they burn as they run down my face into the water, further altering the reflection I see one drip at a time. My hands are raw and in pain, but it won’t even compare to pain I’ve just caused someone I once cared about, or the pain of their family, and mine, once they all find out what I’ve done.
How Long Was I Gone?Things are always way more fun when they aren’t allowed. Thats definitely the case here, because Mama would always scold me for being in the front room. I can picture her now, one hand on her hip and the other in front of my face, pointing her finger at me.. It was a room strictly off limits, with exceptions of special occasion. I never get to go into there, except those handful of times where I was told to dust, before the adults came over and drank their disgusting red wine. I never have even thought of actually sitting on this couch, but since I’m home alone, might as well give it a try.The couch feels really firm, and it’s freezing. Probably because no one has sat on it since last Christmas, and now it's the day before Easter. I’m really relaxed, because it's so quiet, but then I hear the beautiful sound of an old piano, playing a unknown melody softly above me. It's strange, because the only thing upstairs is the attic.
