The Forest of Peace“The Forest of Peace”The Forest of Peace3 hours ago in Free Verse More Like This
I walk through the woods with peace.
The trees reach toward the sky like hands,
The wind gently caresses the trees with ease.
Brown leaves crunch underfoot like tissue paper,
Birds sing in their branches;
Songs of sweet melody and serenity.
I look up to the sky with a smile.
A single leaf slowly floats down,
Twisting, swaying, waltzing, and sailing.
It gently brushes my head on its journey down,
It settles silently on the ground.
The wind picks up and more leaves sail down,
More pass me all around.
Piles grow bigger, all so dry.
The birds stop singing and I don’t know why.
A rush of wind pushes my back,
Urging me to move and not look back.
A fire springs into the trees,
It quickly burns all the leaves.
Brittle, brown and dry,
The leaves slowly curl up and die.
A limb falls in flames,
I walk through the woods of peace,
Seeing my work has been released.

We were never supposed to sit around in our cosy homes

So that we can poke yet more holes into our ozone layer
So we can continue living our comfortable existence

to put out the embers that glow
in the darkness among the trees, the only light to be seen
until I look up
and forget myself
for the perspective of my saviour in the stars.
I look up
to where the trees reach together to form a frame
of a patch of darkness filled with light
from a thousand years
where galaxies and supernovas shine the same
And as I look up my God answers my prayer
as I forget myself and my bucket and my plans
and wonder as I marvel
at the grandeur of the work of his hands.

Sky fills my view crisp, and blue.
Feathered clouds drift lazily
As the drone of dragonflies
Fills my heart, fills the air itself.
I twist my head to my right.
There is a tree gowned in green.
Delicate, yet sturdy.
Leaves dance in the playful breeze
That pulls them that wish to follow.
I turn my head to my left.
There is a field of living green.
Zooming above, a thousand wings.
Rainbow things that know no pain.
Flights of fantasy, and whirling dreams.
The sun casts last soaring beams
Out into space, out into dreams.
Golden spears flash in the twilight
That settles here, quietly.

It's their fault for placing this seed in your head.
This seed which is yearning for water, and will grab it at any chance.
The roots are reaching out to grab their water, no matter how poisonous it may be towards you.
For they only have their own survival at the top of their heads.
It will grow and grow till it rips your mind apart.
And when it has ripped it apart
there's nothing you can do to go back to the way you used to be.
to go back to the way you used to think.
This seed...this seed is part of an extremely dangerous plant called a "thought".
If the wrong thought is planted, things will never be the same.

Hands took me, stuck me in a pen.
I can't move, I can't see,
I wish to go back to my mother again.
But I don't, men won't let me.
They pass by every day,
without so much as a glance.
What are they feeding me?
It's not my mother's milk,
my legs are so weak I can hardly stand.
I stick my head through the bars,
of this pen that I'm in
and see next to me,
others. We could have been friends!
But here we stand,
day in and day out.
Alone, scared, famished,
so I cry and I shout.
But still, the men, they pass
they keep walking by.
They ignore my hunger,
they ignore my cry.
What did I do,
to ever deserve such a fate?
They load me in a roaring beast
roughly, though I fight with all my weight.
And now we are moving,
where do we go?
Back to my mother?
It is too much to hope.
No, to another man,
there's a nothing in his eyes.
And in his bloody hand,
he holds up a knife.
Now I am dead,
chopped into bits.
Put on your plate,
insatiable mouths I fed.

the time has come that burns you out of your making
beating its song of bright, that tiny little heart beats its spark of bright into your new life
let you live,
let you take breath with warmth
little bundle of fur,
show your burning light and let it shock it's passion into your soul
a passion that grows every second,
a passion that grows like a fire
now that you arrived in this life
fire plays with its gentle touch to warm your growing spirit
fur so new but so soft,
darkness and silence still in your eyes and ears
a big world waits for you to see it
a big world waiting for you to hear it
a big world waiting for your bright view
your eyes are shut,
but soon they will open,
a fire grows inside your body and soul
a bright future waits for you

for if you decide to dance with the fire,
your feet will burn in the smoldering ashes.
I like watching the fire.

I hear the sound of birds whistling and calling to each other,
The whispering of the wind as it moves the leaves in the trees,
Somewhere a cicada buzzes and more join in creating a chorus,
Cars swoosh by and a horn beeps not far off,
Distant voices calling to one another in happy conversation,
A shoe brushes against the sidewalk and a twig snaps under the foot.
I feel excited at the sound of a pen clicking,
The scratching of it moving across paper,
The almost silent shifting of my hair falling from behind my ear as it falls into my face,
My favorite sound of all is the sound of rain falling,
When it hits the sidewalk, street, and the roof outside my window,
It is comforting and melancholy at the same time,
A lone violin playing in the night.

Packs of wolves chase
The heavenly figure
Navigating the Northern Lights
Hunting the Latecomers
The weakest who are left behind
Be captured by her
Is the end
Is the law
Of twists and turns
The cyclic repeats
We need to keep us warm
In the south she comes and goes
But in the north
She ever remains
For the lost we can not cry
Our tears would just freeze
The death of my ancestors
The birth of my offspring
Write my passage on the ice
We need to hunt, work, Fly, dig in
Breed, educate, care and protect
In the land of winter
In the plains of wind
We here for forever
We must stay
Our modest existence
That camouflager in the snow
From what I know more
Cold, concealed and steady
The whale of aurora
Says I have to stay

So always remember to be careful
Because I AM DEADLY!

It's wet everywhere
I walk through the woods
I hear the leaves cracking below me
I hear laughs from near by houses
It is amazing in the woods
I smile and spin around
I am happy
