Daughter of the MoonGather round my little darlings as the day grows old and sighsDaughter of the Moon1 day ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
lift up thy little faces unto the stars and to the sky
as the wispy clouds race fast and strong a story I will share
about the girl who touched the moon and left her whisper there
The girl was quite the hardened child with many burdens to hold
And each evening she would try and try to whisk the troubles from her soul
But every night when skies got bright to bed she would never go
but through the house and out the door to dance as she loved so
And in the light upon the dew she flew across the land
to kiss the beams of light that flew and landed on her hand
And oh! How the moon adored her so! Just like her only child.
She let the girl dance in all her grace unto her music wild.
Yet on the day not long ago when the clouds covered our sky
The land was drenched in wind and rain until we thought it nigh
And the girl upon a steadfast ship was pitched and turned quite so
she fell into the watery-abyss sinking low and low and low
