The end is nigh we have to flee
I am stuck amidst the chaos
Will I meet my fate, or be saved?
Till dawn I lay here waiting
Alone my loved one abandons me
For she had also turned tail and fleed
I wait for the sun to rise
For the dawn of a new day

It had been days, no weeks, even a month since I had last seen him. I was never good at telling time... He disappeared about a month ago, and I miss him dearly. Oh, Kafei, why did you leave me? Did you truly not want to marry me? Do you not know how I cry?
I was too busy thinking when the mailman jogged in. It was a little after one in the afternoon. He came over to my desk and surprised me, pulling out a letter. "Wh-what?" I gasped. The letter read 'To Anju, from Kafei'. The mailman said "I have delivered this to you!" like it was the best thing in the world. For me, it was. "Where did you get this?!" I asked. "From the postbox." Came the reply. "I almost groaned. "From the postbox where?" "From the postbox somewhere!" This time, I did groan. "That's not what I mean! Please, tell me!" He simply said. "It's a secret." Exasperated, I said "I must know!" But he ignored my plea and jogged out the door.
Shakily, I opened the red envelope. Unfolding

I gaze up at the sky above me.
The great Clock Town is at it's final hour,
A dreadful atmosphere as the bells ring.
Panic is spread throughout the clearing.
I keep myself silent, my breath now hitched.
People evacuating, the Moon's face leering.
Look at the tragedy that my greed has stitched.
As I glance one way, I see a bitter-sweet scene.
Two townsfolk embracing their fate with sorrow.
They comfort each other, nonchalant despite the screams,
Because they know for a fact there won't be a tomorrow.
Suddenly, a pair of eyes lock with mine from below.
The desperate, yet determined eyes of a boy who's face I know all to well.
The silent alleged "hero's" gaze unwavered by the moon's glow.
'Look at the mess you've made.' His expression seems to scream to me as my heart begins to swell.
I fall to my knees with the weight of a heavy heart.
The truth, the light, being shed on my insights.
"What have I done?!" an ear-splitting cry,
my voice ricocheting through

It was around noon. I went downstairs to the kitchen, and greet with Anju and her grandmother. We sat by a small, rectangle table, and our lunch today were some delicious rabbit stew (despite that her stubborn granny didn't want to eat it). It was ashamed that Anju told me that her mother isn't going to make it, due to market shopping, and probably won't be back by the time she goes back to her duty. I heard from her that she's fat.
"Tortus, I already ate lunch," her grandmother said to Anju, since she didn't like much of her 'approved cooking skills.'

-Introduction, A Link to the Past
Thus begins the third installment of one of the most popular game franchises in the world. Already having titles such as Mario and Donkey Kong already under his belt, it is no wonder that Shigeru Miyamoto was able to captivate his fans in yet another video game series. With fifteen --soon to be sixteen-- titles to its name, The Legend of Zelda series is the world record holder for longest running action-adventure game series (Guinness). Not only that, but the series holds another world record: the highest rated game of all time, 'Ocarina of Time' at 97.7%, helping to prove that the series is the best gaming series ever (Guinness).
It all started with one little game in 1987 for the Nintendo Entertainment System (Universe). The protagonist was Link, a young Hyrulian male desti

They kept running out towards the middle of the east wing and stop for a quick breath by a garden next to a large treasure chest shop. "Are" Alton pants, "Are we safe?" Sounds of marching, iron feet rebound on the steps behind the shop.
"Nope," said Tael nervously. Skull Kid looks around and sees a straw roof above them.
"Quick!" he jumps high onto the roof and lends a hand to Alton. The boy jumps as high as he could, barely catching his hand, and is pulled up to the roof. Just then, Vincent's loud voice and his trampling guards thunder through the busy square, "They couldn't have gone far, keep looking. Check every neighborhood, check the fields even!" The boys silently crawl onto a wooden deck and sits behind a large bell. The soldiers' steps rumble but eventually fade away. They sigh with relief as the fairies fly from under

To its own twisted song
The sun climbs and falls
The moon does as well
All to the tolling
Of the far off church bell
To the four corners
South, East, North, West
The bearer of masks
Takes on this hard quest
A pillar in time
His song giving aid
He fixes the cracks
The demon has made.
And a couple’s deep pain
The source of it all
Would find itself slain
Four spirits he finds
And emotions from all
The faces he wears
Would aid in his call
Atop heaven’s plain
And within spirits heart
The source of the pain
Would be cleaved clean apart
The evil is sealed
The pain gone away
The one who was forced
May see the next day
Through love and hate
His mind never swayed
His choices were firm
And decisions were made.
Many were helped
Over three short days
His mind falling back
To his own parting of ways
The hero stands tall
And returns to his quest
The journey he took
Put his self to the test.

Lewa: I have to turn the temple upside down?!
Tatl: Okay, nothing weird about that.
*This almost reminds me of that silly pop song by some group from the 90's called the A*teens that is called "Upside down," and thanks to my cousins for forever getting that silly song stuck in my head. Ignoring that, Lewa learns more and figures out what he had to do, first by exiting the temple and shooting the red jewel just outside the entrance with light, and lucky for him he had plenty of that. He goes back outside and takes a shot at the jewel, literally turning his world upside down.*

He clutched a sack protectively to his chest as he stumbled on a loose stone and nearly fell. He righted himself and contined running, weaving between people in a frustrating zigzag pattern. He could see town guards in front of him now. He veered to left, his floppy hat nearly falling off his wooden head as he darted down a narrow alley. He then slowed, noticing a strange purple glow emanating from an abandoned shop's window.
"I've got you now, Deku kid."
He felt a gloved hand grab at his shoulder and reflexively jerked away, diving through the window of the shop. There was a loud hissing sound, and the glow faded. When the guards kicked down the door they found it empty, with no sign of the violet light.

"Alright, everyone ready?" Kafei yells after he allows the last of the hotel guests to leave. It was an hour to midnight, almost time to let the lanterns fly. Alton walks beside Anju, both of whom are holding their lamps.
"Thanks for helping me with the candle."
"You're welcome," she smiles. Tatl and Tael lags along with the yawning Skull Kid.
"The crowds should be heavy enough to keep the guards from seeing you right away," Kafei tells Alton, "But I'm sure they'll be looking for you two. What you need to do is let that lantern go, then you both must leave immediately to the fields, got that?"
"Thanks Kafei," Alton nods. He nods back and allows everyone to go out first. He still couldn't believe he's helping them and swears under his breath. Before he closes the door, he notices Skull Kid still standing in the dark, "Well?" Kafei said.

Lewa, gasp: It's Pat the Baker!
Kafei: I am Kafei.
Tatl: The Kafei we're looking for is an adult! When I see you, I see a child!
Kafei: I was cursed by the shadow man wearing a mask.
Kafei: And it's not like I'm hiding because of how I look, it's because my wedding ceremony mask got stolen by some prancing freak with a big grin on his face.
Lewa: Don't I know someone like that?
Tatl: Well you're stupid, just like my partner!
Lewa: I'm right next to you.

Majora's mask floats absolutely still above the platform. It is eerily silent on the clock; no noise is coming from below. Alton takes a step back, Skull Kid stares with anger, and the siblings huddle with fear. The lanterns continue to float in the sky, casting a shadow across the mask's face, but its beady eyes are like a roaring fire.
"Do you remember " the mask speaks. Its voice is cold and pierces through their hearts, "when you played with me?" It lowers itself down to their height across the platform. It looks as though it's staring at Alton, but it's eyes suddenly shifts to Skull Kid as well, "Do you?!"
"Why are you here?" Alton boldly yells, forcing the mask to bring it attention back to him.
"Why?" the mask's eyes glow brighter, if that was possible, "Simple, I want revenge. I tried to show mercy to this land by destroying it quickly, but ap

"Is Raldo okay after what happened yesterday?" Zelda asked Romani as the Queen handed a plate with scrambled eggs on it to Romani. She took the plate and then nodded and smiled in thanks.
"Yeah, he's a more or less okay now, but he's still shaken up some." She said as she sampled the eggs.
"Well, that's good." Zelda commented as she took a seat on the bench in the lobby of the Stock Pot Inn. It was early in the morning and no one else was yet up. The only reason Romani was up was to check on her son; Zelda was up by chance to watch the sunrise from the Inn's roof. "I'm not surprised really; Raldo is strong willed for his age." The Queen complimented and Romani smiled it.
"I know; he's very strong; much like Link was at his age… just with more of my anger issues rather than his father's rationality; Marin inherited that trait."
"Your anger issues? You don't seem like the type to have them…"

"Wow…" the three Terminians uttered in unison as they gazed at the open, lush green Hyrule field as the two carriages slowly made their way towards the Castle Town. Link also gazed at the passing scenery in wonder, but not the same wonder as his family. No, he was surprised on how much Hyrule Field had changed. It looked almost nothing like what he remembered about 25 years ago, but the field still had that scent that Link somehow never forgot within his sinuses. It seemed similar to Termina's as he had expected several weeks ago, and even more did it make him actually miss Termina even more… but for some reason he was happy to be back in Hyrule even though he didn't understand why. He didn't want to come back here within the remainder of his life-time and as much he relented the idea of coming back to fulfill this personal mission he was happy to be… could he even dare to say the four letter word? The two warriors exited the castle and walked out towards the garden in front. "This is it." Link said with a sigh.
"Nervous?" Slone asked jokingly. Link shook his head as he took a few steps back away from Slone, drawing his sword as the King did the same.
"Nah, I'm excited actually." He responded as he positioned himself into a ready position. Slone smiled as well as he raised his sword. It took a minute for Link to realize what he was suggesting; when he did he raised his own sword and the two warriors clanged the swords together, not in a form of attack but as a symbol of their bond as warriors and the signal of the clash of their swords and their souls that would soon ensue. The two warriors lowered their swords and stood there in battle ready positions, suspense building within them, every fiber of their beings were awaiting for the other to make the first move.
