The De Lally CaravanEmil is going to kill Leon. He isn’t sure when, where, or how he will do it, but he is certain he will do it eventually. This is the fourth time he has been forced to go inside a bar by himself. He is underage, naïve, and not the least bit threatening in anyone’s eyes—unless of course, someone in this room happens to be afraid of meek, large-eyed boys with the skin and hair of a lab rat. Without Leon, Emil feels small, exposed, and weak. He hates this part of Knale, and he wants nothing more than to retreat into the comforts of his flat and sleep his worries away. Of course, that isn’t going to happen today. Today, the De Lally Caravan summoned him, and when the De Lally Caravan summons, he must answer. The De Lally Caravan2 weeks ago in Sci-Fi More Like This
He looks back to how it all began, an innocent boy nearing adulthood at a blooming seventeen hoping to find work and fulfilled aspirations in the form of a Knale resident. Knale is the largest and most advanced city in the entire world, housing some of the b

Steve was on the verge of passing out, and Dolly had already gotten to work getting him down from the winch. Madam Slip's attention was on Interface, whose head was still spinning from his near-death experience. None of them noticed the chameleon sneaking up on the tigress.
"Darling... look... it's over. After all you've been through, you deserve a trip to the bar for--"
It was then that the chameleon made the grab. Hisser let out a hiss shortly before the chameleon muted it with his hand.
Madam Slip's eyes widened. She felt her shoulders, suddenly aware of the issue.
"Hisser! He's gone!"
Dolly whipped around, having already thrown the lever to lower Steve. Interface straightened up immediately. Steve was now unconscious.
Reaching into her pocket, Madam Slip took out a remote and looked at it, pressing a few buttons.

Steve stumbled over his own words at Madam Slip's demand for an explanation. Should he explain? What could he say, if anything at all? He was already late for the exchange; should he risk violating the intruder's terms further?
"...Darling? Are you all right? You look positively tense. Should I get you a glass of wine?"
Taking a deep breath, Steve looked up.
"I-I can't explain everything right now. I promise I'll fill you in as soon as I can."
With that, Steve rushed out the door, leaving a very confused tigress in his wake.
Once she'd recovered from her shock, Madam Slip picked Hisser up again.
"Hisser, do you know what that wolf was so agitated about?"
The clockwork snake's lights lit up in patterns once again.
"Would you please fill me in? I know it's about you somehow; he ment

Steve flinched back as Madam Slip leaned close to him. He found himself shielding his neck with his hands. As annoying and cryptic as Hisser could be, he had the strong feeling that he shouldn't give up the clockwork snake.
"I-I-I'm sorry," he managed to say. "It's very personal to me. I'd never dream of selling it."
Madam Slip smiled as she stepped back. "Oh? If there's anything I've learned in my line of work, it's that everything has its price. I'm sure I could make you an offer you'd accept."
Bugger. So THAT'S her game.
"Look, I'm flattered you're interested in it, but I'm really not inclined to sell. Now, if you'll excuse me..."
Steve grasped the door handle, but the tigress had locked it and taken the key. Fear starting to build, he made eye contact with her again.
"Perhaps I should rep

Steve called out as he reached his friend's cabin and knocked on the door.
"Interface, you in there, Mate?
Steve frowned as he received no response. He tried the handle, turning it when he found the door unlocked. The werewolf entered slowly. Interface's cabin seemed undisturbed with everything as neat as it was earlier.
Maybe he didn't come back here, Steve thought. Perhaps he's already returned to the observation deck.
Steve tried to think. He had lost track of time since Madam Slip knocked him out. How long had it been since Interface went missing? Steve turned to leave, deciding to check the observation deck first, and then meet up with Dolly. Hopefully along the way he would find his friend. Out of the corner of his eye, Steve spotted something that made him pause. He looked. It was a #2 pencil tucked partially under the bed. Steve's heart skipped a beat as he picked it up.
Interface's pencil. There's no way he would just leave this laying on the grou
The Bronze Seagull - Ch 14The chameleon hissed. Without warning he spun, twirling the knife in his hands, and cut the rope that held up the crate. The Bronze Seagull - Ch 142 weeks ago in Settings More Like This
Steve watched in horror as the rope remained still for a moment, laying on the floor of the cargo bay, before suddenly whipping about as gravity took hold. The were wolf ran forward, adrenaline rushing through his body. He dove. Claws just managed to wrap around the end of the rope, and Steve skidded on his chest. Interface may not have been too heavy, but the crate more than made up for it. Steve strained, ignoring the pain that lanced through his body as he stopped the crate's free fall, re-injuring his bad shoulder. He looked down, hanging half out of the hatch, seeing the crate sway back and forth. Below that, through the black of night, the ground seemed so terrifyingly far away. Steve clenched his jaw. He had temporarily saved Interface, but the danger wasn't over yet. With each pendulum swing, the crate dragged him forward, inch by inch. It wouldn't be l

Serrasqer Mundhelm Bashal stopped at the sight of the party in front of him, much as Haergrim had halted at the sight of him. The elf commander held his white flag in his left hand, and raised his right hand palm out in greeting. His face was relaxed, with friendly eyes and a smile on his lips. “Grand Duke Loewenherz von Jettingen! You honor us with your presence...from the number of opponents, I was expecting a mere subaltern.” He put his right hand over his heart and bowed deeply at the waist, his long hair cascading off of his shoulders like a sable waterfall.
Loewenherz nodded in reply. “I, too, was not expecting such exalted company as yourself, Sir Mundhelm. Pray tell, what is the commander of the High Porte forces doing here in my capital?” The Grand Duke was not smiling. Haergrim’s dark warning whispered in his ear a moment before he came within earshot still echoed in his mind:

April 23rd 1879
Erm, hello. Gah, I don’t know a bloody thing I’m supposed to write in this blasted journal. Secrets? Obviously not, otherwise our resident Prussian will get his hand on this. Stories? What do you expect me to write about a flying mint bunny? I’m a merchant, not a wr
The Hawk and the Rose”Keep lifting that thing, Jaron,” Felix prompted. Jaron was lifting a keg weighing almost as many stones as the captain did himself, balancing on the wobbling plank leading over to their ship. The Hawk and the Rose3 days ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
He did enjoy seeing his old friend struggle and break his sweat like some red, moist, overmature tomato.
”Don't we - have crew - for this kind of work?” Jaron questioned, glancing down the long fall to the foaming cliffs below. Onehundred feet above, their floating airship was tied by several ropes to the mouthing cavern that exuded from the natural wall of rock, facing the thundering sea.
”Oh, none quite as competent as you.” Felix scratched his beard in absent thought. He coulden't even remember what it was they had left behind in that last keg.
When Jaron finally reached the end of the plank, Felix followed with light steps. His warrior friend had dropped his burden upon the middle of the deck, wiping his sweaty brow with his soaken sleeve. Felix walsed over

Bailey adjusts her goggles, giving Abbey a bit of a glare.
She speaks to abbey with a very suspicious tone.
"What did you break?"
"I have no idea what you mean!" Abbey smiles and glances his eyes
around the room.
"You tripped, I heard a noise, something broke in the hall."
"No?..." Abbey shuffles himself in front of the door, likely an attempt to stop Bailey
from walking through. Bailey grabs his collar, not as threatening as is should be because she is a fair bit shorter than him.
"Let. Me. Through." Abbey shakes his head, taps baileys head, then starts speaking.
"You were just deprived of oxygen! You have to be: wobbly, a bit nauseated, and moody."
"I know that you don't get..." Bailey thinks for a moment, about the list abbey said.
"Moody, was the word I was looking for. You don't get moody from oxygen deprivation."
Abbey raises his hands up, in a joke-full fashion.
"You got me! But you aren't gonna be happy about what happen

"Must explain why the ship is sinking." She takes her finger off of the button on the intercom,

Admiral Cael Sardonyx shifted uncomfortably as the engines on the transport roared to life, he was disappointed to hear only a subtle moan from the powerful thrusters, most civilians wouldn’t have even noticed but Cael was a navy man and he could feel every move the transport made as it danced over the city of Vale. He had always enjoyed the sound of ship engines, the constant drone of the Dust-Drive Cores was about the only respite remaining to the aging sailer, sadly it was still quiet enough for him to hear himself think.. He looked around the small, lavishly decorated cabin of the ship and what he saw troubled him a great deal. Soft padded benches draped in deep crimson red surrounded with intricate
King's Night OutThe screeching of tires on the street and the roar of an engine preceded the arrival of the dazzling auto, the latest of Hearts kingdom technology and spared no expense as the chrome design inlaid along its flanks reflected the lights of the buildings. It purred to a stop outside the busy building, machinery revving once more for those who had somehow missed it the first time, before the exterior lights flickered a greenish color and switched off. The crowd gathered closer, those who were able floating their instant-pictures above them to get a better view.
