Hello, everyone, It's Izu online! As a character designer, I consider myself fortunate to have cultivated my craft through perseverance and dedication, facing "ups and downs" and different challenges along the way. Through all the work I think I finally may call my art in someway unique, and by that I mean that each character I create is a true testament to my immersive exploration of inspiration, blending concept, narrative and backstory, emotions, feelings and atmosphere mirroring in music I pick for each design specifically - all these things bring me real joy to be an artist and part of this community to inspire others!

I am a self-taught freelance artist and my journey started in the beginning of 2021 when I picked up an iPad for the first time in my life. Now I am 19 years old, and there are 3 years of experience behind me, two of which I drew in Procreate and one in Photoshop.

The main thing you probably wanna know about me - how tf do you draw so fast? And my answer is pretty simple - I draw every single day just because I really love drawing and can't imagine living a day without picking up a pencil. That feels like some kind of addition... Like some people are addicted to drugs, I am addicted to drawing.

Everything I can draw now, I can just because I draw everyday. I have no art education, just passion and endurance.

I never thought I could to achieve what I have now. So many people love my art and my designs are appreciated and loved as well. I am very glad that many people consider me to be a worthy, skilled artist. Hopefully someday I'll really be one.

Community group is going to start a new Friday fan art feature series.

Part I of this series will be the Chinese cdrama Wuxia show "Word of Honor".

For deviants who do not know this show, I will start with a short video,

containing some scene and the title music.

Here follows as well a short interpretation (I hope only with little spoilers, but inspiring to watch), so deviants will know what it is about:

Four Season Manson is not the most-known guild in the world of martial arts, but this should soon be a thing of the past as Zhou Zi Shu finds the possibility to change this fact by turning the guild into the assassins guild Window of Heaven for Prince Jin. Zi Shu forces the change upon his family and turns himself into the personal dog of the prince, but many family members struggle. With time, almost the whole family leaves him or gets killed on missions. But everyone who turns away, must pay with his life caused by the Nails of Seven Torments, forcing the victim to die slowly within three years. After the prince forced Zi Shu to punish even the last members of his family, Zi Shu cannot go on with his life and asks for his seven Nails. Six of them are already stuck in his body, but the prince keeps the seventh: He forces Zi Shu to live long enough to see him on the throne. If he accomplishes his goal, then he will give Zi Shu the final nail. Thus, Zi Shu can’t do anything but wait, but he changes his identity to Zhou Xu in order to be able to spend his last days in peace. But even this little peace is of short time as he gets into a fight with servant Xiang while being disguised as a beggar. Immediately, her Master Wen Ke Xing turns his attention on him as he recognizes some similarities to Four Season Manson. And for someone uninvolved, he definitely knows too much about the guild and its techniques … And when the guild Mirror Lake is eradicated overnight, Zi Shu finds himself once again in the middle of the power struggle. The assassins were interested in a magical artefact, the Glazed Armor, but it still remains hidden. Thus, Zhang Cheng Ling, the sole survivor of the guild, is becoming of great interest for everyone – maybe he knows the location of the hidden artefact …?

Nearing the end of this feature, I would like to present you with a personal review on this show:

The show was excellent.

After watching "The Untamed", I was curious about "Word of Honor". Films about bromance and boys' love are relatively rare in the Chinese sector as they are subject to special censorship.

"The Untamed" only came across as a bromance to me in a few situations and was seen as more than a loyal platonic friendship. In "Word of Honor", however, some aspects were added to this. Some actions and gags are specifically aimed at being suggestive and made me smile. When it came to camouflage yourself with fake face masks, there were also butt pads. Wen Ke Xing pointed out several times that Zhou Zi Shu has beautiful shoulder blades.

The two main characters are typical anti-heroes, but they act very heroically and conscientiously. This makes the plot very interesting and gives it a corresponding depth. The show revolves around two wanderers who wander around the world aimlessly, trying to find each other and their places. The many side stories are also quite uplifting, and each is a drama in itself. This drama peaks spectacularly in the gorgeously shot penultimate episode that has everything - clever final reveals, plot twists, shocking, shattering losses, violent clashes and epic showdowns. I am happy with the ending as it is a way a drama should end - at its peak. By the way they have chosen some handsome guys to act. Whereby, I prefer the character of Wen Ke Xing not only for his looks but also for its complexity. This is by far one of the best wuxia I have seen in many, many years.

Hi all

I'm sure that this might shock a few of you who have been following me for the past five years (wow, didn't realize I had this account that long ), but I have decided to permanently deactivate this account.

A lot of the reason for this is I no longer have the same motivation for art that I used to when I originally started my deviantart page. Very rarely do I draw personal stuff at this point, so I go long periods of time without posting, which makes me sad for those who follow me. Deviantart itself has changed a lot since I originally joined (which, btw, my first account was made more towards 2013, so I've been here for a little over a decade). It no longer is community oriented, and instead focuses on...whatever you want to call it now. A portfolio site? It's genuinely not much different from Instagram now.

I remember when I was younger how much fun I had posting in the forums and groups, and while I realize that is just the old web in general, it really is a shame to see how much a platform that originally started for individuals has slowly shifted into the corporate nightmare that it is now. Deviantart does not have the same life and enjoyment that it used to. They replaced genuine interaction with "badges" and awards, that literally do nothing but sit on your profile as a pretty little trophy. The wide variety of customization it used to have has been replaced with very boring and lifeless designs. And lastly, the biggest blow to the site (in my opinion), was the fact that deviantart is very open about supporting AI art, which simply dissolves ACTUAL artists and the time that they put into their craft. It was disgusting that an "art" website would proudly display such garbage on their homepage, and actually encourages its users to use generators. (Though, deviantart has always had a problem moderating what they allow on the website- it's just pushed in your face a lot more now)

I hope I don't sound too whiny in this post, lol. It's just that, deviantart was an integral part of my life for so long, that it saddens me it has ended up this way. I can remember collecting stamps on my profile, joining fun roleplay groups, and seeing what everyone else was up to in the forums. It's just not like that anymore, and that's fine.

SO, to get over with the melodramatics, I will still be active on my toyhouse page here: https://toyhou.se/sonic0 for a little while longer (till I finish up my current to-do list; I then plan to delete that account as well). I also have a personal website here: https://heartemoji.neocities.org/ which will be my main focus as I have no intent on deleting it. I also have an artfight account here: https://artfight.net/~cherryxroll and plan on joining in this year's fight.

I'm so sorry if this is a disappointment to anyone, (which I doubt will be many, considering a lot of the accounts that follow me are either inactive now or are simply bots) but I just feel it's time to end this chapter of my art journey. Maybe if deviantart decides to go back to its roots, I may come back and make another account, but I don't see that happening any time soon. I will be leaving this account up for another 2-3 days, so if you'd like to contact me before I delete, go right ahead. Thanks to those who did genuinely support me these last five years, it didn't go unnoticed, and it was truly truly appreciated. You guys were the main reason I stayed on for so long.
