You paused as you walked into the room. So many choices.
You looked around, feeling slightly crest-fallen. None of the cats really looked like on you could get along with.
Maybe you shouldn't buy a cat. You didn't know if your apartment even allowed cats.
Besides, would you really have the time to take care of one?
Sighing, you turned to leave.
"I'm really sorry Miss Elizabeta. I don't think I'm ready for a cat."
She nodded and shrugged, "Come back if you change your mind."
Sighing again, you left.
"I can't deal vith him." You looked over at your German friend. Ludwig was glaring at something behind the couch. He had called you over, saying that his cat was a pain in the ass.
"So what do you want me to do?" Standing up, you walked over and peered around him.
You blinked down at the little cat standing before you. He had a strange curl of hair. His beige fur ruffled.

A seven-year-old boy with scars on his cheeks stood in the middle of the street, glaring head-on right back at the people who gave him dirty looks. Some people spit in his direction, though the saliva would never be able to cross such a distance anyway. Women guided their children away from him, whispering things like, "Don't look at him" and "If I ever catch you with that boy you'll be grounded for a month".
The child raised his fists, shouting, "I'm not a demon! Anyone who calls me a demon again GOES DOWN!"
It was the first time he had said such a thing, and he could tell it surprised the people surrounding him. But he was fed up with being silent and letting them do as they pleased. He'd tried that, and they only treated him worse.
"What a smug child."
"He should be locked up."
"THAT'S IT!" the blonde boy screamed,

"Francis, Antonio, Gilbert, lunch!~" You called your little countries, setting out the food. It was surprising how fast little kids move when their favorite meal is set down; Spain was munching on a tomato and some churros, France chomping on...snails..., and Gilbert chewing on a wurst. You gave a tired smile at them being adorable as always, giving a quick glare at the pile of work waiting for you. Having one young country was hard enough, but you were taking on 3! Letting a small sigh of relief of paperwork, you ate some (favorite food) quickly.
"Maman?" your French son tugged on your sleeve after everyone finished eating, "Can you play with us in the snow?"
The other two jumped up in excitement. "Si, mamá! Por favor?" "Ja, ja! Mutti, please?" Great, now 3 extremely powerful puppy eyes were gunned at you.... Eh, you can pull an all-nighter for the work, "Sure why not? Go and change!" With those words, the you

Ed stepped off the train, and stretched his arms above his head, groggy from the nap he had just awakened from. It felt weird to be traveling without Al, but Ed didn't want to chance him finding out something he shouldn't, so he shrugged off the feeling. Scratching the back of his head, he began to walk towards the street, but was interupted when he heard someone call his name. He looked around, but couldn't spot anyone he recognized in the bustling crowd so, he continued on walking until he heard it again. Sighing, he looked back to see if maybe he might spot a familiar, and with some luck, he was able to spot Mustang making his way towards him through the crowd.
As Ed took in Mustang's appearance, he was a little surprised at what he saw. He never really paid attention to anyone's appearance much, only Winry's, but he could tell something was off today. He was sweating even though it was cold outside, and he looked extremely nervous. Mustang was never nervous. "What's up with you?" E

Thunder rumbled, shaking your entire house and causing you to stiffen. Stupid weather... you couldn't believe it. Why did it have to rain on Halloween night?!
"So much for trick-or-treaters..." you sighed sadly, looking at the large bowl of candy on the table. Your mom and dad had left earlier for a Halloween party, so you told them that you would distribute the candy. You never cared for trick-or-treating anyway. You then looked at yourself in the mirror. You had even put on a costume for the kids. It was a witch costume that you had worn for a couple years now, but you didn't mind. You could hear the rain beating down on your house.
"I guess I can call it a night..." you said to yourself. Suddenly, there was a loud rapping on your front door, making you jump. That couldn't be a trick-or-treater, right?! A person would have to be crazy to be out in this weather!
"HEY! OPEN UP! IT'S AL! AND THIS WEATHER TOTALLY SUCKS! LET ME IN!"

The meowing from the cats was loud. There had to be at least thirty cats there.
"Are you looking for a particular type of cat?"
"No. Not really..." You twirled a lock of hair around your finger. "Are there any kittens?"
"Yes!" Elizabeta clapped her hands. "Only one though, the other two where adopted." Nodding you followed her over to a cardboard box.
Inside was a smallish beige and white cat. It had the most vibrant purple eyes you had ever seen.
"This is Matthew. His father, Francis, is that one over there." You looked over at the fluffy white cat.
"Um I'll take him!" Reaching out you patted the kittens head. He blinked up at you.
Elizabeta grinned, "Good choice! Matthew's a bit shy, but he'll warm up to you!"
It was a rather quiet ride home. You kept glancing at the kitten, He had fallen asleep after being put in the carrier. You smiled at the collar around his neck. Elizabeta had given it to you

So many cats!!!
Big cats, tiny cats. Every color possible.
How to choose? Frowning you scanned the room. You wanted a cat that wasn't very well liked by the others. One that you could shower with affection.
A large gray brown cat sat off to the side. The other cats skirted around it.
"Can I have that guy?" You squeaked pointing towards him.
Elizabeta looked surprised, "You sure? Nobody really likes that cat. Sometimes people do adopt him, but they always bring him back."
You felt your heart throb in sympathy. You had to have that cat. "I am one hundred percent sure!!"
Shrugging she hefted the large cat into an over sized carrier and handed you a stack of papers.
After signing and paying the adoption fee you loaded the cat into the passenger seat of your car.
"Soooooooo." You made a right turn out of the parking lot
"What to call you.." You looked over at him. The cat had a rather large nose and purple eyes. Too cut

"I'm home!" you called out as you pushed open your front door. Hands full of grocery bags, you close the door with your foot. Not a minute after announcing your presence in the house, a blur ran out from your room and over to your legs. Standing there, nuzzling your shin was your tabby cat, Romano.
Romano had become extremely protective of you once you had found out that you were pregnant. Your fiancé, whose child you were pregnant with, was currently overseas on military business, so you were left alone with Romano. You had just gotten your cat around the time your fiancé and you had started dating. He had always been rather protective of you, but as of late, he would refuse to leave your side. He would throw fits when you would have guests over, not that he wasn't always getting mad when you had others over, especially males.
But lately, he would hiss and sometimes even bite if you had company. Speaking of company, your friend Alfred was going to come over today.

Alfred had to attend another World Conference, leaving you alone in his large house. You thought that you would enjoy this time, but instead, you missed him more than ever. It wasn't the same here without Alfred's smiling face and excitement. And he had only been gone for two nights! You had another two nights to go before his return. And you hated how much you missed him.
"Keep the outside lights on at night... and don't forget to lock the doors!" he said anxiously, just before he left.
"Yes and yes. Don't worry, I'll keep the house safe!" you said, pasting a smile on your face. You didn't want him to leave, but you didn't want him to be worried about you either.
"Don't be silly... it's not the house I'm worried about," he said, embracing you in his arms. You hugged him back tightly, wanting him

A honk from behind startled you. Giving the guy the finger, you made a sharp turn and pulled into the parking lot.

You stopped going after Ludwig immediately after he approached you that way out of nowhere, was it really that obvious? You always kept such a great distance that it seemed nearly impossible for him to see you, you could never bring yourself to get closer to him than that until that time he told you those harsh words.
A sigh slipped your lips, instead you had made your way across the school's territory and into the library to try and set your mind off of it, but you just couldn't do it.

Severus stood very still as Dumbledore walked past him, out the door, and down the revolving staircase to the griffin three floors below.
Snape was alone in Dumbledore's office.
He glared around at the many shiny, and very delicate instruments that lay on the small, rickety tables, and shelves all around the room. His eyes had just passed over the dilluminator, and an old snitch, when they fell upon a gold ring with a small black stone cut in a diamond shape. There was a triangle, and circle, and line set into the top of the stone. He caught his breath.
It had been years since he had heard his mother's sweet voice telling him the ancient tales, but he could still recite them by heart. There sat the Resurrection Stone of Cadmus Peverell.
He took a step closer, and reached out to touch it. After the slightest hesitation, he lifted it from its resting place on the table and held it in his hand. He tilted it closer to the light, and noticed a very fine crack cut diagonally on the face of t

So many caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaats.
You tapped your foot in frustration. How could such a small room hold so many cats?
Which cat...... How could something so simple be so difficult? Did that even make sense?
You remembered a slight problem. Your son.
Geez, you didn't want to bring home a cat that would scratch or bite him.
"Um are there any cats that don't mind kids?" You scratched the back of your head, surveying the assortment before you.
Elizabeta nodded, "We have Berwald and Tino." She pointed at a chair. On it sat two cats, a small beige one and a rather intimidating looking, big gray-blue cat. "Tino is a really sweetheart. He loves people, especially little kids. Berwald doesn't really interact that much with people, but he can be really affectionate when he wants."
You stared at both cats. Berwald glared back. Geez.
"Um could I have Tino?" The smaller cat defiantly looked kid friendly. Elizabeta nodded and re

The real painful barbs were from the mares and stallions around town. The aghast looks and the back-handed compliments towards them both when they were out shopping or having dinner. The whispered conversations and darting looks. That hurt them both far more because at times they would even say such things to their faces.

A big cat with an oddly large nose sat down near your feet. His purple eyes stared up at you.
