Inwien awoke with her eyes lazily blinking and her chin still resting on her paw. She gazed up to see a light through a window. Outside of it rose a very, very bright thing that began to fill the room with warm yellow and oranges. The sight made Inwien feel fuzzy inside. She didn't know what this world was, but it was pretty and there was nowhere she'd rather bet. She happily snuggled onto the blanket around her and watched the sun lighten the clouds with vivid hues of pink and red. It shone through the window and onto her, warming her side. Faintly through the glass she could hear a shrill singing - many voices singing. Their song twittered and chirped as a light breeze rustled the leaves in the trees in the yard. Inwien began to see movement in the far fields, tiny figures walking on the side of a hill. How funny those little creatures were and what small houses! She thought to herself that she must see them one day - perhaps today - perhaps right now! But the warmth of the blanket and sun just wouldn't allow her to move. She was perfectly comfortable. She wanted to stay. Soon, the little figures became boring and the sun was too bright for her to look at and Inwien's eyelids lowered slowly once again as she drifted off to sleep hoping the pretty Wyngro would let her stay just a little longer.
I wondered if I could get a 600 word story out of this but nope. This is making me sooooo sleeepy. Sleepy Inwien.
I swear this background stole my soul. I drew it in FireAlpaca which I'm still learning to use. I thought about exporting the linework and doing the rest on GIMP, but I was lazy and just went "nah, this is good". The only drawback (get it? DRAWback?) is that the smudge tool on GIMP is 90% better for blending. I ended up using the blur brush on FireAlpaca to do most of the blending. That and manually airbrushing and eyepicking the colors in-between to airbrush more gradient blending. AHH. But I'm still proud of how it turned out. Someone tell the mods so I can get more Wyns than just one measly bust and background. XD _____
Took one of my Mythological Minis colouring pages and was playing with pastel and bright colours. Love how this one came out. Gonna be a print at Yukomicon, and I'm gonna have it printed on super shiny metallic paper, can't wait to see how it looks! Vectored and coloured in Affinity Designer!
Mitya on Derpibooru presented me with some slightly more titillating details about her request, which was unusual in its source alone: two reference pictures of the OC Lika and the pose of a prone Twilight from SLB94. Some sketching was required before transferring to computer, but otherwise hammering out exact strokes and fill placements was easy – especially since the eyes had no catchlights, making that part of the anatomy much easier to nail.
